We appreciate the acknowledgement. Please keep in mind that the forums are mainly peer-to-peer. Daz does comment through it's customer service department where they attempt to address problems you may encounter. We understand the desire to comment and complain when things are not working, but the ticket system is the only place where Daz actually interfaces with its customers to try to find solutions. The mods can only do so much; we're mostly volunteers.
A week of failures for so many people goes beyond belief. While it has been years since I worked in IT, something like this would have our client screaming and foaming at the mouth - even if the error was of their own making. I was even dragged back from vacation to placate them. Yet here, a poor mod has to bear the brunt of our angst while hq makes endless excuses.
Heads-up as this may have got lost in the $2.99 discussion *g*:
There are no download options in my product library for https://www.daz3d.com/classic-fur-cape-fashion-textures (and no install types listed on the product page - the two may be related?)
Maybe because this isn't a sales error. I suspect a submitting ticket would be more successful.
Will send in a report on this. A ticket should also be opened.
Is it also not available through DIM?
The download options are completely blank (I even scrolled down on the my library page because they very rarely hide at the bottom of the page). Will open ticket.
Another day with 2,99 not working. Calling me frustrated is just the tip of the iceberg.
Culled my cart. Again. This isn't worth the hassle of trying a ticket. I'm perfectly able to live without these items.
the $2.99 has started working again for me this morning.
Still not working for me.
Like others, I appreciate the work that Cris, Richard et al. have been doing, liaising between us and Daz, ensuring that errors are logged, and passing on information where available. Thank you. You're in a difficult position that's not of your making.
However, this is nuts. I successfully bought a $2.99 item (Addison Hair and Brows for Genesis 3 & 8 Female(s), SKU 51969) as a part of an order on 20 Dec, and the $2.99 items haven't been working since. The specific problem I have is that they are $9.95 in the cart unless a new item is added, at which point they reduce to $2.09. (I'm a PC member with a 30% loyalty discount in Ireland.) This is now a full week later, albeit with Christmas in the middle.
I understand that people are experiencing different errors, some the exact opposite of each other. I understand that Daz are struggling to reproduce the issue. I understand that it's hard to fix something when you can't reproduce it.
However, what I don't understand is why Daz is persisting with this offer when it's clearly seriously buggy and just not working for a significant proportion of the customer base, and losing them huge amounts of good will. They don't have to have that particular sale. They've run successful sales before. They have the facility to run coupon code sales that mostly work fine, with the coupon workng once for each person and a new coupon code each day. Why on earth don't they just do that?
Or if they really feel they have to, then code a new $2.99 offer that's similar to the current one from scratch. If they really can't see the problem in the current code then abandon it. It seemed to go wrong for most people around 20th or 21st Dec so if they don't want to go back to a blank drawing board then at least go back to whatever was in place before then.
But persisting with the current sale-that-isn't-a-sale for so many people flies in the face of all logic, when there are alternatives available, and when it's simply losing more and more good will with existing customers (and presumably PAs) - not to speak of turning off potential new ones - and perhaps more importantly losing sales. It's madness. It's been a week. Time to do something different lads.
Black Widow link leads back to the main page.
https://www.daz3d.com/black-widow-hd-for-genesis-8-female is the link!
Both links, front page and promo page, lead to the product for me, but can't hurt to have the link here, Thank you.
Weird, this is what it shows for me.
Guess it's a cache thing!
The PC+ 10% off DOs isn't working for me.
It's not working on today's sales, but the loyalty discount makes it a bit of a nightmare to work out the proper price. Fast Grab doesn't have it either.
The sale isn't working for me either. I'm just getting full price on all the $2.99 items.
On the upside its saving me a ton of money, because I no doubt would've spent a lot in this particular Xmas sale otherwise.
The extra 10% off DOs ior PC members is not working for me either. Here is a straight forward example where it is not complicated by the loyalty discount. All I am getting is the standard 30% for PC members
Reported, thank you.
And now appears to be fixed. Thanks, Richard
Fixed.
The $2.99 items are not going to $2.99 with a new item in the cart. I understand that the five item offer only applies once, is the unlimited one with new item in cart supposed to do that too?
I still can't get the $2.99 or really it should be $1.68 prices with a new product in the cart. Why do they offer the same sale over and over when clearly it doesn't work?
The time for that was years ago. It's simply not possible to be unaware of all these problems for this long, so at this point it seems pretty clear that the powers that be at DAZ corp are fine with how terrible their store experience is, as long as people keep buying. Hell, with as messed up as the way websites are evaluated is, it's quite possible that there may even be someone who thinks all the extra traffic generated is a GOOD thing... we had a marketing person like that at my old company once, until she abruptly quit and we figured out that all she really knew how to do was massage data into reports that looked impressive.
And there's the companion joke -
Q - Why did the monkey fall from the tree?
A - Because he was dead.
I really think Daz needs to own up to all its mistakes and have a big banner that says "So sorry for the recent sales inconveniences. To make it up to everyone, here is a code for $20 store credit. Happy New Year!" And have it available (to use once) for a week so no one misses it. That's what I would do if I owned Daz...
Or maybe they are unhappy but have limited options for improving the situation - especially in the short term.
At least yesterday I could get items into the cart for $2.99 (although I did not make any purchases). Today, of corse, there are things I like, but they go in at $9.95 and adding a new debut item doesn't change anything. Cart cleared.
It should be usable once per day? At one point, I thought I was told it was one and done till the end of the year. There actually were some I wanted that I missed. Any chance of a big catch-up? Now I see $9.95 items at $2.99 in the cart, where I did not before. Trouble is, they're not the items I wanted...
Being in the software business, I can sympathise with the issue of not being able to reproduce the problem, and therefore not knowing what to fix. "Just go through the code and fix it" is not a viable suggestion. It's kind of like people are asking you to dig up all of Mount Rushmore to find the reason an occasional rock falls out of Lincoln's nose and hits a tourist! OTOH, no online store I buy from in and out of the 3D market has this level of problems, AND an entire forum thread devoted to sales errors.
OTOH it doesn't seem to be deterring me from spending money.... I'm just not paying $10 for a $3 item.
The $2.99 sale is broken again for me today. It worked yesterday although I didn't get my loyalty discount (I'm not sure if I should have done, I did buy a debut new release at the same time). Now it's back to charging me $9.95.
When it's to the point of not working for YEARS, it's time to test out other carts (and you can do that offline.) It make it easier for not only us, but the web developer people too. Imagine their frustration right about now.
I prefer sites be consistent- buy, earn points, redeem. Have flat out percentage off sales, and keep it simple. I hate to see other perks disappear, but I hate it worse when my shopping friends can't participate and are gypped out of getting products the same as everyone else.
Bottom line though-did they test our solution we offered? Have a CODE to put in the cart that applies the discounts to that 2.99 section. That section is a module, so there should be a place to put a code for it.
