    I noticed that too - dropped it in my cart from the main page and wishlisted it from there:)

    On a slightly different note: how is the weeklong 'Summer Sale' on the main page different from regular daily product launches? 30% off new items, 50 from related catalogues and some DO items - doesn't look all that exciting. Perhaps I'm missing some great deal thing here...?

    What is it with changing from "get n % off of Gift card with qualifying purchase on Monday and use this Store Credit on new fancy DO character on Tuesday" to "Buy a fancy new DO Character on Tuesday with real money (no store credit allowed, since have to be in the same cart) and get n % off a Gift card". I mean seriously, to cover those expenses I need to buy a freaking 400 dollar card.

    The new releases at 30%, without having that drop to at least 50% with buying two, isn't going to get me to spend money now as my gift card funds finally got used up with these 70% sales of Genesis 2. This is apparently the trend- keeping new releases at 30%, and I think PAs are going to see initial sales drop as DAZ continues to test this strategy. Voting with my wallet, I'm not supporting the "no further discount on new ones, no matter how many you buy."  Nope.

    March Madness started real slow too and then picked up. As the first day, who knows? There are probably going to be some wicked new releases soon.

    And I'm sure everything will scale up. I got some wishlisted items...and one or two must haves for a story I'm working on.

    I'm struggling, should I buy a few base character (Genesis 3)?
    I'm relatively new at DAZ, so there are a few base characters I need and the discount is 65%... should I wait... is there any possibility that the Genesis 3 Base Character getting more cheaper the next days or is the discount good enough?

    Genesis 3 base figures are free, I suppose you're talking about named characters for G3M/G3F ?

    There's a 30 days sales price guarantee at DAZ, so if they get cheaper in that period you can ask for a refund of the price difference.

    I mean named character like Teen Josie 7, Sunny 7, Aiko 7... That with the refund is a good point, thanks... I have to read about this a little bit more

    If you are new to DAZ, keep in mind that by the release patterns of past generations and serious rumors, the next generation of Genesis will be released within the next two months or so. I'd keep major investments to lights, sets, and utilities. I say this as someone who invested heavily in a generation back when I was new,  not realizing the next generation was only months away.

    yeah, I heard about the rumors... not official, but most likely...
    But it's already too late, have spent a lot of money this month :D
    Also it would need a little time for DAZ and the vendors to bring out enough content for the new release? or am I wrong?

    I've been hearing about the "next generation" releasing "in a couple of months" since I joined DAZ over a year ago. 

    But I've also seen all the named characters WAY cheaper than you can get them right now, even with the maximum discount they are at now. 

    But some of them... Ivan, the Tween characters, Isabella 7... they don't go on very deep discount very often. 

    ​Get ATI's DAZ store plugin extension for Firefox or Chrome.

    And despite using Genesis 3 almsot exclusively for my renders, I've been buying mostly generation 4 (V4, M4) content, and using various utilities like GenX2 and UV sets to move that older content to newer generations. 

    In my opinion, in a lot of cases, an older Generation 4 character (and clothes,) moved to Genesis 3 with the Anagenissis 2 shaders is a lot more bang for your buck than a lot of the actual Genesis 3 content. It just takes some time and experience with Studio to figure out how to do this and what the benefits are.

    Well, do as you will. But like I said, it's past patterns and data plus rumors. If there were rumors a year ago, which I never saw, those rumors would not have matched the pattern of release dates for past generations. Look when the other generations were released. I just know I was majorly frustrated and would have returned the old content if I could have. It takes a while for the tools to move things between generations to come out. Or it did back then. 

    Then again, if you have really deep pockets, you might not care. I just hate unknowlingly majorly investing in obsolete products. It's different when you're deliberately buying old content because it ports and is still high quality.

    Actually, DAZ and the PAs could already have been working on it for some time now and we would never know about it until the actual release of Genesis 4.

    Just my 2 cents. :)

    ...Which means there likely isn't likely to be a better sale than this snoozer next month, either...

    I wanted to get Darius 7 & his HD add on but his HD is not included in the sale. Weird because I think every other 7's HD is there.....

    Also true. Timing is everything. It's hard when you come in on the potential tail end of a generation. That said, there will be a bit of an overlap if I remember the start of Genesis 3 correctly.

    Memorial Day is the traditional American marker of Summer. Which is, conveniently, at the end of the 'Summer Sale week'. Thus, Summer Sale.

    Also, I'm pretty excited by an additional 55% off various PC+ items I regret missing at their intro discount, and 68% off Daz Originals for PC+ members doesn't seem like a bad deal at all. Especially since I still have a coupon left to spend...

     

    (But yeah, I've wondered if this sale is the equivalent of a fire sale before new products. I don't personally care-- Genesis 4 coming out doesn't mean I have to buy any the connected content. I don't do much in the way of photorealism.)
