The only things remaining in my wishlist are all DAZ Originals/PC. I don't know if that means the items that disappeared were neither or not.
If you have a good deal that you don't want to expire...
But it in your cart, purchase, select PayPal for the method, log into PayPal after the redirect...
And then you can come back and peruse the store at a more leisurely pace, potentially.
I haven't tried this method out, but after I missed out on FaceGen Pro for $55... I decided next time I'm in a situation like that, this is what I am going to do. So, this is all hypothetical. I suppose DAZ could reject the PayPal payment still...
That's a one-way thing. The addon only receives the wishlist from the store, it doesn't change it. If you haven't synced it since you lost a few items from it, then I can send you a list of SKUs that I have for you, and you can add them back manually. But who knows what got corrupted in your Daz userfile? I think the best solution is to write to customer support, and they will restore the list for you.
Isn't there a timeout period in PayPal itself for this? I haven't tried, but logic suggests there should be.
I'm not exactly sure what you're proposing, but Paypal has been known to change as you get the spinning cog- and the price WILL shoot up if the prices in the store has changed. It's happened to MANY people. You don't "lock it in" with Paypal. All that will happen is you will be filing a Support ticket because your prices jumped during Paypal checkout. (If I'm understanding correctly, you're trying to lock in prices with Paypal. Doesn't work that way.)
Wow, the wishlist is seriously messed up. I had over 3000 items in mine (I often shop by wishlist.) Now I've got 700. I'm not sure whether to be thankful or not for the unintended purge.
Customer support can restore it for you. Or so I've heard -- I haven't had this happen to me yet. I know I would freak out if it did... :)
(Maybe we can make this another feature of the addon -- "restore messed-up wishlist." :))
I've had to have them do it once. Basically they can restore your wishlist from a DAZ backup copy which may be slightly out of date. So, if there any very recent changes to the list they may not be reflected in the resored version. But, never-the-less, it is a great help.
Honestly, I'm not too worried about it. Mine needed some serious culling anyhow. DAZ probably saved me hours of work- accidentally. LOL
I do like the idea of a "restore messed up wishlist" feature!
@Novica and @ATI
I am suggesting that if you have an item in basket and you are to the PayPal payment process, logged in, and at authorization... you've bought yourself more time than if you're refreshing your basket here in DAZ.
I have NEVER seen PayPal show me a price, then I get to the point where I am selected the card, I click "complete purchase," and the price that comes up is different than what it said it was.
The communication during payment authorization is with your card issuer, not the merchant. That part has already happened.
There is certainly a timeout, but it is longer than your DAZ cart, where any update can result in all of the prices in your cart jumping all over the place, at any time. This is what causes DAZ consumer Pavolivan responce...
I see a sale, and I foam at the mouth and shake, not knowing if I should look for greater stacking options and risk losing the whole deal, or if I should just strike while I can and hope I get through the purchasing process before the price changes again. I've won, and lost, either way in those scenarios.
Maybe where people have had their PayPal price change *at* PayPal... the timeout period *has* expired. I suspect if that is the case, something happens when you click to finalize the purchase... either it times out and recycles or the transaction fails and you have to reauthorize and recommunicate with the vendor... but I don't think you see $8.95 in your charge, then you approve the charge and pick what card to put it on and it comes back, "Thank you, your payment of $19.99 has been approved."
I've never had it SHOW up a different amount there, but I've already had more CHARGED than what PayPal showed. Which was strange, since I authorized PayPal to charge X amount, and then I got charged 2X. I don't remember the exact amount. Customer support quickly solved the issue, giving me store credit for the extra amount charged.
I do always check my confirmation e-mail to ensure that the charges were correct.
I'm doubt this method is foolproof, but it seems like a better bit of insurance to lock in a good price without buying it immediately than just leaving it in your DAZ cart and hoping against a cart-price update, at the very least.
How do I go about getting the refund. An item I purchased on 5/7/17 is now on sal;e for 50% off. Do I send a ticket or do I contact someone in sales?
Thanks in Advance
You can always open up a ticket with customer service. But whether you might get a refund depends on the product you purchased. If it was something just recently released, there might be a chance. But older products are always subject to promos. So you'll have to live with the fact that prodcuts you've bought might get cheaper later on.
No, you can get a refund for anything as long as it's within 30 days.Open a ticket at the CS site and direct it to the 'Sales' category; tell them what you bought and the order # you bought it in, and point out the new price. They're very, very good about this.
Nice deals today, especially on some of the PC+ items. What will we have during the PC sales this year? :)))
I log in to Paypal, check what transactions have gone through before I hit the pay button at Daz (or elsewhere), then check what got charged.
It's my cash, I want to ensure it processes correctly; stuff goes wrong occasionally, I care enough about my own cash to check it hasn't. :)
Damned, I already need a catch-up sale for the actual Daz-original sales..... :)
Ooh, yay, old stuff! You know where I'll be...probably all day long! UGH
Yeah, over 5000 items takes a while to sort through. And that doesn't include the separate vendor sale...
A lot of good deals, but some of the stuff has had better prices in recent sales I've been bottom feeding over the last week, looking for max discounts/really low prices, with one or two exceptions. I'm pretty happy with where my library is at the moment, and at this point I can be more patient with some stuff going on sale. No significant discount stacking to speak of in the current sales, at least that I've noticed, at least compared to say some of the mutually beneficial deals that happened during March Madness and in April/Early May..
I did notice a handful of price jumps when I was browsing earlier this morning, related to a few of the new items that I've been keeping my eye on, between yesterday and today..
Same, LMAO. I was actually just going through the stuff yesterday, adding to my wishlist. Now I'm glad I did, because there's a bunch of older stuff that I want! D;
Holy crap that's a lot of stuff to sort through! It looks like a few items were removed from the Pre 2014 sale from when I first looked at it (originally said over 5000 items on the ad banner, dropped to approx 4500 items some time this morning), but I had already moved those to my wishlist as I didn't really need them right now, and have since found other options. Some items I put off this time, as they were more 'I want' rather than 'I can use', and I'm sure they will go on sale again at some point if I feel the need for them down the road.
I did make sure that Ati got a few referral credits as well. I wish there was a way to do that manually, rather than having to remember to click on the product links in the email listing, but I'm sure he gets a lot of referral credits already.
I finally am onboard the gift card bandwagon as well. Probably should have been doing that for a while now, but I'm sure that Daz and the various content providers appreciated the extra money.
It's sales like these that help you truly appreciate the sheer mass of content in the Daz store... I don't think I've spent this much time sorting through items in one sitting, even during March Madness!
Had to get that RealFit Morphs from the3dwizard. So I threw in that PA coupon to at least get a buch of older stuff - for around 0.40 per item. I wonder if I will ever use it much, but hey. Still a pity that none of the new releases are further discounted once more are bought. So the wishlist keeps growing.
Anyone know when the Centaur G3F promo will end? Can't remember what day it started on. They usually last a week, don't they?
IIRC it started last Tuesday; but they don't necessarily last a whole week.
The cart price shown at PayPal website just before charge confirmation is NOT final. Somehow Daz recalculates and resubmits the order exactly before PayPal charges your card. It is your responsibility to make sure that it happens before the deals expire. I have learnt it the hard way.
It took me hours, but I finally did wade through all 50 pages and then whittle my cart down. (Yeah, there were probably a lot more than that for others, but I shop a lot of blowouts!) I sent quite a bit to the wishlist, because even at .50 each, there are some things I'll wait for, LOL. I remember getting things as low as .20 during the PC+ sales. DAZ still got a good chunk of change and I've got plenty of new-to-me old stuff to play with. I'm happy!
LOL, needing culling, too funny. Mine didn't get affcted, but I am in the same boat, if it does, then less I have to worry about. With the coupon at the other store I just wiped out 1/3 of my wishlist there, so guess it evens out.
...this "vintage" product rabbit hole is deeper than I realized...
Yeah, I swear there's stuff I haven't seen before (brought back, never noticed or just standing out more after years of thinning the back catalog).
