These aren't jeans shorts, but they are shorts. The belt loads with the shorts, and setting the belt and buckle surfaces to 0 opacity leaves black texture artifacts for me. You might notice that my guy got hairy. I used the new body hair product discussed in this thread.
I've put so many products on my wishlist because of this thread LOL. I've also removed quite a few from my wishlist thanks to this thread.
It's an interesting thing to see - some pants are SO well done with heaps of morphs etc. And then you get another product that is pretty much a pair of tubes. It makes me wonder why some people are making brilliant pants, and others are making really bad ones....if one person can do it, why isn't everyone??
The waistband!! That's where I'm seeing a LOT of outfits falling down in quality. It's almost like.....laziness. They don't bother doing any decent modelling with the waistband cos "oh well, the shirt this comes with is long so I don't need to spend time on the waistband"....even tho that means the versatility of the product drops like a stone cos you can't use it with ANYTHING else. No kitbashing here folks, move along. *grumbles*
Ah! i missed that, thanks. The lighter textures make it easier to see. Although I still want to see the waistband. And I WANT HIM TO TUCK IN HIS SHIRT!!!
LOL, the mother in me coming out. That's driving me nuts.

Jaki, check out the addon texture pack, it gives you a better look at the pants
Hear, hear - I could see that on a school kid - but in an office... they must work in one with a far different dress code that mine - even on a dress down Friday. I could be wrong but the sweater and shirt don't appear to be seperates, I guess you would hide the shirt with the surface - I hope
I almost think it would be better if there were a few really good meshes, and people would make textures or modify those for trather than redoing the same modeling unuccessfully at times. I'm not sure why there is a need to redo the same model over and over again.

Whenever I see underwear peeking out of the top of someone's jeans, my first impulse is to run up behind them and pull their pants up ;). It's a mom thing. LOL
As for those paints, they are too tight, but no more tight than most other pants I've seen for the Genesis males. I must be getting too old for this hobby.
FWIW, the pants on the new Attitude Outfit look sufficiently loose ;).
These look pretty nice. These are dirty jeans, so if that is what you need, take a look. The product comes with 4 textures, and they are not all recolors of the same texture; some have additional rips and details. The pants have several adjustment morphs. There is no belt. Big wrinkles, waistband, and belt loops are modeled in. The pockets and small wrinkles appear to be painted on the textures. However, there is a very nice normal map that adds details to the waistband, pockets, fly, and fabric. The button at the waistband is a separate object (I'm not sure "object" is the correct term) parented to the pants, so it can be adjusted - nice! The shoes are untied, with no option to tie them, that I can see.
All in all, I like these so far. I wish there were a nice clean texture for them.
I have yet to see anyone at work wear anything like this. Could be they were sent home to change before I saw them, LOL.
I'll probably pick this up for at least the boots and the sweater since this vendor usually does such quality work.
Well, I work in an Insurance Company in Europe and this kind of look is rather well accepted. Anyway I recently had a conversation with my coworkers and some of them didn't even know how to call slim or skinny jeans. I wear them slim, and sometimes skinny. Baggy jeans are a no go so far I am concerned.
There are a lot of details in this model. Even the zipper teeth and pull are modeled in! Waistband, button, pocket area, hems, seams and wrinkles are all there. There is also a normal map to add additional details. These have seams, zippers, and strap details. These are not plain, blah, tubes.
This product comes with only one texture for the pants. That texture is black, and it is soooo daaark that I can't see much detail. On top of having a very dark base color texture map, the base color itself is set to gray make it even darker. So, I experimented with the Image Editor options and changed the base color map Gamma and the Instance Color Scale. Then I changed the base color to a blue. Now I can actually see something. (I haven't purchased optional textures, so I couldn't try them.)
The ankles load tight, to fit within the boots. I didn't render the boots, so you could see how the pants fit at the ankles. There are several adjustment morphs, including one to loosen the ankles and one to hide the strap that dangles from his hip.
I was curious to see how mangled those zippers would become when fit to a morphed and posed character. So, I tried a George Expandable character. Imagine my surprise and delight when those zippers looked fine! The strap looks good, too, with only a little distortion of the ring. I am impressed. It looks like NikisatezLuthbellina is a good team.

I love these. They look like every pair of skinny jeans I own.
Not Jeans/pants, but I am disappointed by the textures on the kilt. I just spent the last few hours trying to fix it - not there yet but it does show that it could have been done properly by a talented texture artist.
i like those they look great except for the belt. I hope someday daz studio can make models of belts and straps which don't distort
Do you mean the "strap" on the George guy? You can hide it easily with a provided morph. I didn't think it looked too bad, considering the body it was fit to.
I generally like the looks of all of the outfits in this package. At least insofar as the (contemporary) outfits look like something the young goth about town would actually be wearing. And all of them look like they have useful bits. Good to see the waistbands of the ones where the promos hide them.
The pants on the highlander one seem a bit confusing (pants? with a kilt?), but the promos don't show enough of them to tell whether they aren't hose (woven not knitted) rather than trousers.

Yeah yah you have a point. Straps and suspenders though make me shudder frequently

I'm guessing by "this vendor" you mean Luthebllina, who did the textures only I am pretty sure. The modelling I would guess is the other vendor and I've had plenty to say about them.

This thread made me realize just how many pairs of pants and shorts I've purchased. Seems strange I can never find anything I like when I go put some clothes on my guys!

I hear ya! Look at how many I have, and I haven't even rendered them all.
Here's a render of the whole Millennial Business Casual Outfit for Genesis 3 Male(s) outfit, with some morphs dialed to tuck in the tie, hide the shirt bottom and hide the pants strap. This gives a less casual look to the outfit. With dressier shoes from another product, he might fit right in in most business settings. I played with surface recoloring and shaders in this render, as well as adding some chest hair from the Reds Body Hair. This character is a combination of Ivan 7 and Gwenbleiz with Elijah's skin.
I'm very happy with the way the sweater surfaces are defined. The ribbing (trim), sweater body, and sleeves are separate, so I can apply different shaders to each part to get the knit orientation going the right direction and I can put ribbing on the trim. Here I used Shader Plan Light Knits for Iray on the sweater. I used Mec4d's satin shaders on the shirt and tie.

Speaking of tight jeans/pants on males, seen the new millennial male set?

The millenial casual top reallybugs me. In some images and promo art the neckline looks really feminine. Not sure if it is the angle or what.

I picked up the Elija 7 Pro Bundle and it is finally available to download, so new pants renders are coming...
