Non-complaint: During today's mini-adventure I noticed that the principal 2-lane road through this town toward the city had been newly blacktopped. Nice clean blackness with just yellow dots down the middle in preparation for proper painting of the centerline(s). On the way back I noticed that they were still finishing the shoulders along the southside of the road. Looks like the road is now a bit wider than it used to be. Cool!
Non-complaint: Grocery shopping today resulted in three big bags-o-stuff. No cherries though. I guess the season is over. But I did get three kiwis (Mmmm... fuzzy & green), also bananas and apples, and although I like a good watermelon, I couldn't see lugging one (or even half of one) home in an Uber, so I just bought a good sized plastic container with pre-chopped chunks each about an inch cube. (Mmm... sweet watermelon.) Seasonal craving sated, without the mess. Grocery is selling pumpkins again already. I could have gotten two beautiful big ones for $5, but again lugging them home in an Uber was not in my schedule.
Complaint: I didn't buy any snacks, unless you consider pickles a snack, I don't. They're just part of my late night ritual. (Mmm... a Vlasic kosher dill pickle spear before bed.)Gettin' old sucks: No chips, no puddings, no cookies, no chocolate. Doctor is threatening me with insulin. However, my weight has continued to drift downward. Back under 200 again.
I have heard/read psychologists say our dreams are where we work out things in our subconscious and why it is so critical to experience REM sleep. Possibly you are using familiar people from your life to help you do this?
Well, being unable to work things out without REM sleep might explain why nobody in the world can work anything out.
Non-complaint: More roadwork: Wheee... The State road crew came through town again today. This time the big blacktopping machine was working the northside shoulder of the road. I don't think I can stand all this excitement. Smooth, jet black roadway now all the way from this town, westward into the city and through to the far side, franchise row, mall area, and perhaps beyond to the terminus at Westfield on Lake Erie.
Complaint: Unfortunately, there's a spot of about a mile within the early part of the city that will always fall apart within a year. Poor substrate, never properly fixed. Buses and Ubers avoid it when it gets bad. Ever since I was a kid (i.e. the last 70 years) that section of road is just covered over then falls apart after the first winter, with major cracks & potholes. That whole section needs to be completely dug out, proper drainage put in, and a proper substrate built through that area. But I'll never see it happen.
A Few Hours Later
Wheee... More excitement. The blacktopping machine and its attendant truck just came back through, backing up all the way, picking up the traffic cones. They must be good drivers to drive that massive machine backwards several miles, close enough to the line of cones for the guy on the back to grab them as they go by. Cool!
I forgot to bring sauce for the nuggets I brought to the program.
I need to set up my desktop again. I want to start rendering again. I just got Kiri 9. I want to play with Genesis 9 again.
The question is not whether the nuggets have sauce. The question is whether the nuggets exist.
So, do you think is it more noble to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of unsauced nuggets? Out out small nugget. Sauce be damned. 'Tis a loss full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. -- Shakespeare rolling over in his grave --
Complaint: All the roadwork has delayed delivery of my Amazon package today until tomorrow. My own version of missing sauce.
I read somewhere that everytime you see a person in your dreams that it's a someone you have seen in real life, even if only in passing, since the human mind cannot make up faces. I've always wondered how much truth there is to that; if any.

I've read that as well. I wonder if 3D models count as human faces?

Well, you're not supposed to be able to read things in dreams, either, and I do that all the time.
Considering the thousands upon thousands of people we see, I'd think this would be a really hard theory to prove or disprove.
I believe that I have read things in dreams too. Maybe not the fine print, but at least the headlines. Also, I've heard it said that we don't dream in color, but just think we do. Hmmm..., that sounds kinda' sus to me! And "are dreams literally images?", philosophy I hear thee knocking! Heck, perception itself is a big mystery (i.e. Is my red the same as your red?). So, dreams are at another level of abstraction. (*eyeroll*)
Non-complaint: Curious about the road work around the main state road through here (Route 394), I turned to my friend GoogleAI (who has informed me that "Gemini" is the preferred word) and asked about the current work going on. I was surprised to be informed that after decades and decades and decades of complaints by the locals of Chautauqua county, the State of NY is finally (supposedly) fixing the 1 mile stretch between Falconer and Jamestown that I mentioned earlier. Previous repaving this spring was just a temporary measure to get traffic back onto the road (buses, commuters and Ubers were bypassing it through unhappy neighborhoods) so that they can tear it out this fall, dig out the foundation and properly repair it. Yay! I may live to see it done if not proven to survive 10 winters. And the repaving of that road all the way through the county, from Westfield at Lake Erie on the west, down the west side of Lake Chautauqua, through Jamestown, Falconer, and Kennedy to just before Randolph in the next county (Cattaraugus) is part of a massively expensive repair of a road that used to be the main artery (used to be Route 17) through this county, but was left in the dust by the building of Interstate I-86 about 50 years ago. And speaking of I-86, it bypasses the city of Jamestown to the north and jumps a mile and half across Lake Chautauqua on a bridge that is now about 45 years old and its repair is part of the expense. Chautauqua Lake is mucho deep so working on the bridge in the center requires big barges with cranes. Repairing the bridge has been going on for about 2 years of lane shifting and the whole bridge project was slated to take 4 years because of several ancillary bridges in the lake area complex along I-86 which carries a lot of traffic across the Southern Tier of NY State From NYC, Boston and Binghamton to Erie, PA and Cleveland, Ohio and can't be closed completely because there is no other viable way to handle all that traffic without routing the big trucks up to Rochester to Buffalo and down to Erie, a 100 mile detour. All this I learned with my Gemini conversation. Cool!

Please don't get into religious discussions.
So, no "...isms". That takes care of religion and politics. OK, how about dreams and philosophy?
Dreams are OK. Philosophy perhaps, as long as it doesn't turn into politics or religion.

not the REM you mean, but the REM we need
