I have a feeling she's going to have a lot to say about 'it' (whatever 'it' is) once she starts....
Regards,
Richard
Here comes https://www.daz3d.com/shirred-dress-for-genesis-2-female-s with https://www.daz3d.com/shirred-dress-textures and https://www.daz3d.com/cross-strap-heels. On the right https://www.daz3d.com/lna-basic-wear-mallorca-outfit. Hair is https://www.daz3d.com/short-ponytail and https://www.daz3d.com/alyssa-hair-for-genesis-2-female-s.
mding Now there's a pair I can draw to!
Thanks and thanks for the reminder to check my library and DAZ store.
Thank you @ChuckM! Sounds like you might contribute another render for us - looking forward to that!
Pose was adapted from https://www.daz3d.com/friends-for-life-poses btw.
Wow, what a great render! Would you mind sharing your lighting / rendering set up? This looks fantastic.
Also, loved your Sighni dress render, it's truly a classic!
@tsroemi: I have to admit, I am a bit astonished about your very kind interest, but here is what I can tell about it:
The HDRI is from https://www.daz3d.com/pro-studio-hdr-lighting-system-3, "Light 21L". I have a HUGE collection of HDRI products, and I just click myself through until one works. This product might work here, but often it didn't, so I rather recommend to own a broad spectrum of those procucts (although I assume you already do, tsroemi)
Then in addition the" PointLight Right Key" from https://www.daz3d.com/pt-illuminations-hdri-lighting. From this lightingFX product I also used the setting Vignette 050. Don't forget, that if you already own an HDRI product from Paper Tiger, these settings should be included there.
Burn Highlights is at 0.25 and crush blacks at 0.2
It was such a quick render, that I even forgot to put the focal length of the camera to 90, instead of 65. No DOF. Focal Distance = 372.92. Of course headlamp off.
I had to adapt the surfaces to the lighting, as they were shining too bright: Base Color, and some also Glossy Color and reducing glossiness with the skin. Even here I was to lazy to finish adapting the skin of the right figure
I was told that this setting doesn't matter, but I did it nevertheless and my impression is it does with skin and hair and the rim of meshes towards their surroundings: Render Quality to 10.
So the lighting is nothing special, as you can see, and the HDRI I used might not help you with other clothing colors. Nevertheless I am very happy with those products.
Well, thanks again for the kind words!
Heya, thanks for explaining so much in depth! I think it's exactly this 'simplicity' and 'easiness' that I like about the set up here - this undramatic, flattering, a tiny bit painterly and soft kind of lighting. Will experiment a bit with the settings of course. Thanks again!
G2 enjoying the view.
@felis: Very cool idea, great pin-up render - many thanks!
For anybody interested, that is beautiful https://www.daz3d.com/soleil-hair-for-genesis-2-3-female-s and hot and scary https://www.daz3d.com/midnight-huntress-for-genesis-2-female-s.
@felis: Could you tell us which g2 character you have used - just in case it isn't one you have created yourself? Again, thanks a lot, very well done!
As usual, you know the G2 stuff.
The character is Kori https://www.daz3d.com/kori
(applied with SkinPBR shader)
@felis: Many thanks, much appreciated. Skin is very impressive, indeed, as it was with your last render: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/9269121/#Comment_9269121!
This is https://www.daz3d.com/ryder-for-genesis-2-male-s, a toon character by DemonicaEvilius and Jessaii, wearing https://www.daz3d.com/wicked-le-relaxed with a texture option from https://www.daz3d.com/wt13-wicked-le-relaxed-textures, both by Xena. Hair is https://www.daz3d.com/finlay-hair for g2 and g3 by AprilYSH. The pose was adapted from a remarkable pose in https://www.daz3d.com/gianni-6.
Hi all, check out the current freebies, there's some nice G2 stuff included!
https://www.daz3d.com/battle-kimono-for-genesis-2-females
https://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-the-vampire-huntress-for-genesis-2-female-s
(second one even includes hair, but is pre-Iray). Also, 'Actual Eyes' are in the freebies, so one can give it a go and see whether one can make them work with Iray.
Many thanks, @tsroemi! Very impressive, indeed!
Oh yes, on that note, Fatal Whisper was a G2F-era freebie several months back which I decided to have fun with:
Gallery Link
@Matt_Castle: Spectacular, you even thought of the shoes, that's hilarious! But besides, it is still an amazing, cinematic render full of action - brilliant - many thanks!
Madeline on a bike, https://www.daz3d.com/madeline-for-stephanie-6
@felis: Everybody look here what a great freebie we get atm - many thanks for showing us, felis, that was very fast! Madeline is one of my favorite characters and I guess you used PBR Skin again - lighting, posing and lipstick color make her look very strong and confident! Is that https://www.daz3d.com/devil-may-deluxe-hair-for-genesis-2-3-8-female-s by goldtassel? Thanks again, great render!
Yes,it is that hair. And I changed it to SkinPBR.
The lips are applied with a custom color using the lips mask that is in the product. I also gave them a metallic flakes on top in a similar color.
Lightning is sun dial with an emissive plane to soften the shadows a bit.
Many thanks, @felis!
I downloaded this week's new freebies and bought Victoria 6 to put them on.
https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-6
https://www.daz3d.com/ronya-hair
https://www.daz3d.com/actual-eyes-4
https://www.daz3d.com/battle-kimono-for-genesis-2-females
I'm using the original Victoria 6 textures with 1-Click PBRSkin. The eyes are significantly modified from the original freebie, as that product was presumably intended for 3DL.
Many thanks @paulawp (marahzen), V6 looks really beautiful in your render, her skin very impressive! Great idea with the stone mandala shaders as background, awesome render!
Thanks! Prior to this thread, I doubt I'd ever done a render with G2 (I'm a relative newbie - Daz was well into the G8 era when I arrived) so everything about working with it is new to me.
I might note that the pose was one of last week's freebies:
https://www.daz3d.com/i13-from-above
And the cool Mandalas can be had for $1.99 in the Outlet Store, probably for a while yet:
https://www.daz3d.com/stone-mandalas-texture-shaders
Paula, that render is so nice! And thanks for the tip with the mandalas, I'm putting them on my wishlist. I'll also try 1-click-PBR skin next time with the older models, that seems to work much better than my manual conversion to Iray Uber.
I've found this really neat blouse for G2, well, it's actually a dress but it's the blouse that I like so much, it has such a realistic fall and great textures. Figure's skin is Monique 6, I've tried to convert her to Iray but I'm not very good at it. The outfit is https://www.daz3d.com/workday-dress-2-for-genesis-2-female-s.
Edit: Upload doesn't seem to work for me atm, so just the link for now, will maybe try again tomorrow.
Here is the link to Richard's render with Workday Dress 2: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/9267611/#Comment_9267611. I also love that outfit and am looking forward to tsroemi's render!
Thanks for the information @paulawp (marahzen)!
A quick reminder of two outfits I like very much:
https://www.daz3d.com/casual-streetwear-for-genesis-2-female-s by Oskarsson and
https://www.daz3d.com/bellissima-for-genesis-2-female-s by 4blueyes with https://www.daz3d.com/belle-textures-for-bellissima by bucketload3d.
Sandals on the left are from https://www.daz3d.com/hi-lo-dress-for-genesis-2-female-s by Val3dart with https://www.daz3d.com/textures-for-hi-lo-dress by ShanasSoulmate.
Trying again to upload a quick render of the G2 workday dress. Okay, the mistake was a & in the name, took it out and now it worked:
Thanks a lot, @tsroemi, that blouse indeed looks wonderful, and I like also how you converted the skin - thanks again for that great render!
