...sunny and going to be around 70° again today.  Heading out in a bit to the other market I usually like to shop at.  going to pick up some fishie and flour for a classic old Milwaukee fish fry tonight.

Oh been wondering, does anyone know how to disable HD quality on Youtube permanently?  I have to keep doing it for every video I view as my notebook and wireless just cannot handle the bandwidth requirement.

...no water from the sky here either. Just 73° and lots of sun. Taking a pub break from my errands and enjoying a pint of porter while sitting outside on a lovely afternoon.

Another 10 - how long was it from 4.0 to 4.10?

The thing about doing small point increment releases is that each release never seems like it's enough for a major release, even though when you look back over the whole set, you've done more than enough to go from (say) 4.0 to 5.0

I prefer cayenne, as you can make a dish as hot as you like, but any burning sensation fades in 10 minutes or so. Yum.

I use cayenne sprinkled liberally on chicken breasts while I'm frying them.  No breading, just a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil, one or two large chicken breasts sprinkled with cayenne, fried at low/medium heat for about 1/3 total time, then turn over and sprinkle the other side and cook for another 1/3 the time, then turn over and finish up the cooking.  Remove to a cutting board and slice into medalions of desired thickness for sandwiches or chicken steaks or chunks for soups or stews.  Mmmm, yum!   I've tried all sorts of ways to scientifically determine when they are cooked properly and have failed.  I've given up and now after the 2nd cooking will simply slice open the thickest part and make sure the center is only just pink and gauge the 3rd cooking time accordingly to assure the meat is done, juicy, and not tough. enlightened

My fetish for jalapenos comes from a time when my body could tolerate them.  I would go into "Subway" and order a sandwich with "lots of jalapenos".  But nowdays I say "and just four jalapeno slices". frown Here in the summer, the local fruit and vegetable stand has some wonderful jalapenos.  I drop in about once a week and usually get two or three at a time, bring them home and immediately freeze them for later use in winter when making chili con carne, or chili mac/spagetti, or to slice up into fried potato chunks for breakfast, or to spice up a pot of Dinty-Moore Beef Stew, or etc.....  smiley A dozen or so frozen jalapenos last me all fall, winter and spring. yes

...I now get several slices of pepperocini on my sandwiches there.  Still a little bit of "zing" but not as overwhelming has jalapenos  When I want to spice things up these days at home, I use Tapatio, Tumeric root, or Sriracha depending on what I am cooking.

I can not do Subway.  They started going through me like grapes through a mynah bird, no matter what I ate.  And I realized that it wasn't tasting very good either.  So I switched to their salads, while my friends would keep eating the sandwiches and running to the bathroom.  Then one day, I asked for two packs of Bleu Cheese dressing.  They were NOT the same color.

I don't know which was worse, the fact that one was downright yellow or the fact that neither was close to being white.  I didn't eat that salad that day.  That was 2012 and I have never been back to that Subway or any other.  There's a silver lining:  Subway really is not a healthier option, and the added bonus (for me) is less diarreha.

I know, I know; TMI.  But you folks should know, just in case it is happening to you and you haven't yet put 2 and 2 together...  blush

I think I did.  How did you know.  I made a coffee to bring to work but I think I did not finish it before work so I had some after work.  I did sleep in so I did not make any coffee this morning.  I doubt I can get coffee for the change I have in my purse anywhere.  Not even at McDonald's (partly due to the fact I try to avoid that place with the Clown.)

...don't have that issue myself, but then I don't ever have them put lettuce on and only get a small splash of the red vinegar at the end instead of one of the other dressings/sauces they usually put on their sandwiches.  The one on the corner by where I live is actually pretty good at keeping things fresh, but then, they are in a fairly upscale neighbourhood.  I do miss their tortilla wraps as all that bread sometimes is a bit much.

The place I steer clear of is "Toxic Hell" as I've had too many bad experiences with them.

I also avoid all of the big national burger chains. We have a local one here (Burgerville) that is very good as they don't use frozen "hockey pucks", don't let food sit on a steam rack, and make your burger to order (none of this "Have it Your Way" at "Burger Sling" only to not get it "your way" as I found out on a number of occasions when I ordered "no mayo" and the burger was almost drowning in it [I have a sensitivity to egg yolks and mayo is a definite "no-no"]).  They also have seasonal specials like sweet potato fries, marionberry shakes (made with with real ice creme), and Walla Walla sweet onion rings.

Complaint:  I made a big mistake today.  Blah day, rainy, chilly, bored.  Decided to go for a drive to the Indian reservation to get cheap gasoline.  Continued on to the antique mall another 20 miles up the road.  I was just gonna look.  (yeah, right!) but after wandering aisles and aisles and aisles of only half of the mall I had found something I wanted (another unusual rock carving for my rock collection) and could justify.  Then on the way back to the checkout I saw something else (a small faux-bronze Buddah) and got it too.  Happy and almost broke I headed for the door but I let my eyes wander...  Big mistake, I glimpsed something I'd been thinking of for months (small deep agate half-geode) and I just had to have it.  I had to dig into my emergency cash "mad money" but snatched up my thing and checked out and ran for the door before I saw anything else and had to sell my jacket.   Conclusion, trips to the antique mall are bad for your feet and your wallet. surprise

With me it's ebay that does that.   I have these saved searches becaue there are one or two things I need to complete my collections. Have several saved searches as some people do not describe things properly, and don't want to miss something I really need just because someone doesn't really know what they are selling.

But, of course, these saved searches also manage to turn up things I didn't know I needed till I saw it on the screen in front of me.    And Pension day is only once a month, well twic a month really as I have 2, but only the small one is mad money. THe larger one pays all the bills and does the grocery shopping.

...happened to me yesterday as well while looking for hosuehold items I needed.  Was at one second hand shop and found a rack of different national flags for sale, all good size (not desktop flags) and all lfor only 6$ a peice.  Among them I found an unissued WW II era silk Japanese soldier's or "good luck" flag (40" long) complete with the tassles and no writing/printing on it.

Definitely worth more than the 6$ I paid as in looking at different acution sites I've seen prices vary from between 60$ - 300$ depending on condition. Save for a slight yellowing of the white silk due to age (it is over 70 years old), this one is immaculate with no rips or frays and all the hem stitiching is intact.

Never start a rock collection.  It's unending.  I try to limit mine to semi-precious stones like Carnelian, Jasper, Onyx, Obsidian, Tigers Eye, Jade, Alabaster, Turquoise, Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Lapis Lazuli, Malachite, Calcite, Petrified Wood, Amber, Opalite, Dalmation Jasper, Amethyst, Crinoidal Limestone,  etc. carved into animal shapes.  But still, once you start looking for them they come in an infinite variety of animals, shades, size, mineral mixes, carving quality, rarity, etc.  What's terribly tempting is when you find a new unique animal in a new unique mineral, and the lust begins.

And heaven forbid you should also get interested in raw natural crystals.  There are whole museums full of different examples of those.  I have to deliberately say to myself "Self, you don't want another crystal, stick to the animals!".

All of my "rocks" are things of beauty, not particularly cheap, but none of them are prohibitively expensive.  However, over the last 30 years the collection has grown to over 100 items totalling in the $$$$, yet doesn't come close to what I've spent on DAZ items. surprisesad

...for myself it's flags. particularly ones with historic significance like the one I just acquired, as well as an original East German one.  I also have a huge (and quite heavy) US "schoolyard" flag that takes up almost an entire wall.  All the stars are embroidered and the stripes are sewn together.

Save for my Croatian flag which I ordered online, all were found at yard sales or thrift shops.

Still on the hunt for a 48 star 1950s US flag as well as a cold war era Soviet one.

I've collected many types of things over my life but I eventually found I had to start collecting smaller and smaller things if I wanted to be able display, or even store them all.  I've sold off many of my collections of larger things because of storage or display costs, but even zero size, digital things require significant money be spent on safe storage. frown

Selling a collection is a painful thing to do.  You know they won't go to a better home, yet you hope someone will at least love some of the individual items as much as you do.  But at least half the value of a collection is your memory of acquiring it. smiley

I've never allowed myself to get close enough to a sheep to hug it.  Except for that time when I was five and one pushed me down in the mud. frown

I've also never allowed myself to ride a horse.  Except for that time when I was five and was placed on a horse and it moved and I fell off of it.  frown

I"ve never allowed myself to row a boat in a river.  Except for that time when I was five and my 10 year old cousins put me as an experimental passenger on the raft they had built of chopped down saplings and it capsized and I fell into the river. frown

Five was a bad year for me. indecision

so they can twirl them round and round when they are at the milk bar,  it makes the milk come out quicker.

eventually they twirl them around so much taht they get thinner and thinner at the twirling point and eventually just drop off.

They have trouble holding on to the bottle and end up having to stamp on it with their hooves, wasting a lot of product.
