    There is a nice high poly chopper over at Rendo in the free stuff. Many MAT zones for coloring. Comes in at 5 megs.

    I have a question for the forum...

    I'm learning to model and attempting to make a t-bucket hotrod, I found this schematic that i'm basing my suspension off of but I don't know what this piece with the red arrow pointing at it is for.

    I can see that it bolts to the bottom of the leaf spring but it seems like it would hang very low and I don't see what gets attached to it.

    Well, it looks like it bolts onto the middle bottom side of the leaf spring alright, it would help greatly if we knew where the other end also connected, I don't ever remember seeing brackets like that on real T Buckets, however it could be for some sort of radiator support I suppose, its doubtful is for suspension, as it looks like they've already got the rest of the suspension covered, it can't be for the steering, thats covered as well!

    OK...RNR...what you have here is a diagram of a modified Model T frame kit (with front disc rotors and brakes). The part you have the arrow on is called a J-Bar panhard bar. It is used to help keep the very different tires and rims in line on a hot rod. The traditional "front behind" axle single leaf suspension was designed for much taller thin hard rubber tires with long spoke type wheels. On the modified version, the panhard bar works in conjunction with the drag link bar to help hold the damn thing in the road with wide low soft rubber tires...lol. You can go with a traditional frame diagram minus the panhard bar that is identical to the model T frame and drive train, if you are going to use spoke type thin tires like a motorcycle tire. I have included you one below.

    Hope this helps you on your model. If it is gonna be a hot rod with big wide front tires, I'd go with the J-Bar design. Your choice.

    again here are two pictures of model T hot rod kits. Bottom has the panhard bar with the dual front traction bar suspension with a stacked front leaf spring. The top one is a traditional frame setup with a single traction bar suspension and a regular leaf spring thickness.

    Thanks for clearing that up mus, I had never seen anything like that myself, but then, I never really built a hotrod either!

    The T Buckets I remember seeing when I grew up were usually built using the infamous Total Performance kit, none of those required a panhard bar as far as I know, as that is something that would be seen right out front, besides, the Model T's I actually worked on were factory stock!

    Nice car, don't care for the headers though, but I do like the car itself, needs a little front end treatment too!

    Thanks for the info Music,

    I don't think handling will be much of an issue with this car, :coolsmile: but I do want it to look like it would be a workable setup and pretty much conforming to the traditional style of a true tbucket hotrod. Thanks again for the help.

    I need a reasonable quality 1951 Ford F1 V8 pick up like this one, any format that will import to Poser or Bryce.
    It's for a hobby render so a freebie is a must.

    Anyone got a resource or link?

    The only real good F1 that I know of is a gta pickup, but that one is a 49.

    The 49 might do... depending on how it's made, I can maybe botch the front grill to look like the 51... As it's not an important render, it doesn't have to be spot on, as long as it looks close enough (the less it looks right, the more I'll put it towards the background).

    Nice Ranchero. I wish I could find the truck I was looking for—modern Ford F-150 to F-250 king cab monster truck. Something along the lines of this or this (with the same size tires as the first one).

    Thanks, but I downloaded this and it looks to me like it's just a mod pack for a regular F1 truck that's used in a game.
    There is no useable geometry file included.

    Shame because it would have been perfect... cheers anyway. :)

    Looks like I'm going to work with this one thanks.

    It looks good enough as is, but I've already made a massive move toward Brycifying all the mats... and now it's looking better.
    Will post a render before and after in a while.

    Now the task of chopping that front end and making a 51 grill for it.
