Hansmar - thank you. Indeed, your render does look somehow like a operation table light.
mermaid - thank you. Yes, getting the grass good can be a bit challenging. The size (surface) is important and also how long the invisible trunk is makes a difference of how high the grass gets. Best use an empty scene and experiment just with the size (width/depth) and the length of the invisible trunk (move it up to make the grass less high), you can further adjust the density in the TE (Foliage Shape Scale and Number of Leaves and also try different Shapes e.g. Pine White). I have such a grass-tree in my Objects Library but I can seldom use it directly as is but need quite some time to fit it in the current scene.
And a UFO + Thanx
UFO looks great ed3D.
Thanks Horo for the additional information.
Ed3D – simple but excellent UFO scene.
While I'm still trying to get some good grass for my scene, I'll post this abstract, it’s the same abstract on page 22 this time viewed thru the GWL lens. My 1st for 2026.
mermaid - looks great, just compared it with the original two pages up. That one looks like a closeup and this new one like from far away. I also like how the GWL makes the centre standing out.
Horo mermaid010 : Thanx
nice Images everyone
Thanks Horo, the EWL and GWL give some interesting results, especially for abstracts.
Thanks ed3D
The terrain was self made and given a material from Gritstone Hills. The clouds are by the CloudSphere6 and the ambient light by the belonging SkySC6 HDRI from the Sky Toolbox and the key light by the sun.
Wow, I come back to some fantastic renders and friendly faces. Hope that everyone had a fabulous new year celebration. We went to bed early, lol.
Hansmar, like the grey scale and you can see what is happening in the image.
ed3D, I like the soft colors of the spaceship scene.
Horo, great landscape and interesting object.
Elvis, thank you for the wishes and the lovely view.
mermaid, pretty abstract. It looks like something that I would have made, so you know that I like it.
Thank you NGartplay.
Wonderful landscape, Horo the clouds are awesome
Thanks NGartplay
well Thanx Kindly +
Thank you mermaid.
Happy New Year fellow Brycers!
Wonderful renders everyone! I have been so busy with the holidays, fighting wtih my computer (I am now going to move over to linux / dual boot setup), and taking classes, I haven't managed to make time for a render in 2026.
Bunyip02, I have to get some creatures in my renders, Horo, I like the idea of using those trees in that way.. never thought of that.
Thank you PixelPie.
Thanks PixelPie
This abstract is the same as above, but this time using the Director’s Camera. I found sometimes it is nice to switch camera views especially for abstracts. Why two of the same images? A question for Horo- the setting in both are the same, the 1st is viewed thru the GWL but for the 2nd I hid the GWL but still got the same results, so I'm a bit confused. Nonetheless I like the results.
mermaid - looks very nice. I cannot answer your question. I had such an effect once: same result with the GWL and the GWL hidden. It only changed when I deleted the GWL. Usually, hiding works as if it were not in the scene.
Thanks for the feedback Horo. I deleted the GWL but it still didn’t work. After trying the lens on some old abstracts, I reached a conclusion that the Lens don’t work with the Director’s camera only with the Perspective camera; looking at the description with each lens, [1] Save position of Perspective Camera, I think my conclusion maybe correct. And as a bonus I ended up with some cool variations using the Director’s camera.
Like this one from page 7

And this one from page 13

mermaid - Two cool renders. The first looks like being mirrored the second one you published on the end of August last year. The second one looks very different from the one on November. Both look very nice. I never though about the Directors and the Perspective camera when using a lens. Got to experiment once.
The alpenrose consists of two Bryce trees, one with foliage and wood and a copy with the leaves as blossoms and transparent wood. The pot is from Vegetation. Table and wall are each a cube with my own material. Rendered with the Obscure Light Method. An alpenrose in a pot on a table.
Thank you, Horo, mermaid010, NGartplay and PixelPie.
I like your UFO render, ed3D. Specifically the clouds or puffs (the method of levitation?) work well.
Great abstracts with wonderful colours, mermaid010.
Very nice way to create a beautiful blooming plant, Horo!
Another abstract render, with modifications in location, sky, colours, whatever, from an oldie (may 2024).
Hansmar - thank you. Great looking blue abstract.
Beautiful blossom Horo, the lighting is very good.
Hansmar – thanks, superb abstract.
It will be nice if you experiment with the lens, Horo, and either confirm or refute my conclusion.
There’s one more from page 18, with and without the GWL, using the Director's Camera, the image renders the same. I like the result.
mermaid - thank you. Great abstract. I experimented a bit with the GWL using the perspective and directors camera. Up to now, nothing unexpected noticed.
Thanks for your feedback Horo. Today I setup a scene using Director’s Camera and the GWL didn’t work. It only works with the Perspective Camera. It was fun playing with the 2 main cameras as I never ever used the Director’s Camera. I suppose I expected the lens to work with both cameras, that’s why I was confused.
The wall is from Beneath the Waves (terrain rocks and weeds), the grass from vegetation. The rocks I made previously from the pdf TreeStones from Horo's site, the flowers from Marco (c-ram). The sky is from Hdri for Fun.
Thanx Kindly + could explain if you or anyone wants to know " How "
_ kind of simple really +
mermaid - lovely peaceful morning or evening scene, the tree-stones came out very nice.
Double stacked terrain from High Resolution Terrains (HRT) 3 with materials from HRT 2 and HRT 4. The water is the ground plane with my material. In front of the camera the C_WarmRed filter from Lenses and Filters. Sky and ambient light by the (unpublished) ErmClouds11_SD HDRI and the key light by the sun.
Thanks Horo, magnificent scene, love the beach, superb work as usual.
Thank you mermaid.
Beautiful work everyone! My monitor hasn't been working well because hubby sleep walked into it and only half of it works now.
