Horo: Once again, a stunning landscape. I particularly appreciate the colour of the water and that narrow strip between the water and the shore.

I tried to create more realistic-looking Bryce trees. The horse is a figure from Daz3D.

you're  welcome   And  don't  forget  the  X-Frog  plant  packs  (  currently  on  sale  )

Another outstanding scene Horo with the lake and pond.

Very nice examples of Bryce Trees Electro Elvis,  I agree the horse is a nice addition.

Triple stacked terrains by Horo and David, materials from the Terrain Stacking, lit by an Hdri from Hdri Enhanced Skies.

ed3D - thank you, I think I got them all.

mermaid - thank you. This ridged terrain came out very nice, I like the lake at right left and the sky fits the scene well.

No terrain, only the ground plane with my own material. The trees were made in the Tree Lab as BTOs (Bryce Tree Object): three trees and eight instances, the grass is a tree as well (idea of Alexey); the materials for the wood and foliage are self made. Everything within a Fading Mirror Box (below mirroring, above transparent). Sky and ambient light by the unpublished ErmClouds11_SD HDRI and the key light by the sun.

I see a number of great renders and WIPs was posted. Well done everyone. And thanks for the nice words about my earlier renders. The ruins in these renders were not made by me and I used a few copies in the render.

Best wishes for 2026 to all!

Another awesome render Horo, the grass and trees are amazing. Do you, by any chance have the grass tree idea by Slepalex on your website?

    Thanks Hansmar

Best Wishes for a Wonderful 2026 Brycing Year

Horo, that's a photograph.  Stop teasing us.

mermaid, it's been so long ago that I don't know where I got the materials.  I'm pretty sure that they didn't come from ShareCG...at least not my pack.

landscapes are beautiful.  Lovely lighting Elvis.

    Hansmar - thank you.

mermaid - thank you. No, I first thought I will just put it up here. On second thought it may be more useful to make a tutorial explaining the options and how to use it.

NGartplay - thank you. Well the clouds are from an HDRI and therefore part of a photograph laugh.

Best Wishes for 2026 and Happy Bryceing.

No problem NGartplay. I still miss ShareCG it was my go-to-place for Bryce Freebies.

It will be wonderful if you can do a tutorial Horo. I hope Slepalex and all the other Bycers are well. Too many to mention, but they all shared valuable information, tips and tricks with us.

When going through some old pictures, I came across a greyscale version of "Howl's starcastle", a render I made for a 'transportation' contest in 2022. I do not think I showed this one before, so here it is. (Don't mind the mistake in the name that indicates 'colour' while it should say 'no colour' :).

The buildings are terrains made from two Apophysis Flames 9 years ago and given a self made material. In the background three self made terrains and with the ground plane given a material from Landscapes under Fantastic Skies. The fine stars are from the Space Construction Kit, sky and ambient light by an HDRI from Deep Space HDRI 1 and some light by the sun.

    Alien City

I am not sure but this may be my last render in this year 2025 laugh

    Happy New Year to everyone!

I hope to see you all still active and dedicated to our Bryce obsession.

Horo: Your little drops look great; the terrain with the lakes reminds me of the Lake District in my country; the trees with the layer of grass look very realistic; the city somewhere in the universe is simply fantastic.

Electro-Elvis: The trees turned out great, and the horse gives the scene a rustic touch; the sun peeking over the horizon is very pretty and promises something good.

mermaid010: Your terrain has a really nice mountain feel.

Hansmar: The uncolored render is very good; it's like a cartoon nightmare.

Thank you, Horo, mermaid010 and Teobaldo.

Your terrain city is nice, but the sky is spectacular, Horo.

    Very beautiful landscape, Electro-Elvis.

I could not resist making an abstract for my first render of the year. I used a series of spheres and some lights to create this.

Loooking through old render pictures I found another one (from 2022) that I may not have shown yet. Maybe I have? In that case: apologies for double posting. The name of the file suggests that I started with a city created from a terrain, but I added multiple reflecting spheres and one of the 'Fantastic skies' as well as a robot, leading to this thing. It is weird, I know, but possibly interesting as well.

Hope everyone had a great holidays/Christmas/New Year, and have a wonderful 2026 !

Horo - Gritstone Hills is amazing. Two fantastic city towers off a coast is glorious. Seasons Greetings is delightful. A part of a forest depicted within double droplets is fascinating. A hilly landscape with groundwater lakes is splendid. Tree Lab as BTOs is stunning. Two Apophysis Flames is elegant, superb way to end the year.

Hansmar - City ruins is excellent, love the fog/light rays look. Three cubes is wonderfully psychedelic. I think that fish is going to take a bite out of Dino's heel. Howl's starcastle is groovy. Abstract is perfect, reminds me of HAL from 2001 for some reason. City created from a terrain is striking.

NGartplay - Both abstracts are gorgeous, second one is my favourite.

Mermaid - Abstract is ravishing. Triple stacked terrains is exquisite.

Electro-Elvis - Lovely 5 renders, can't make up my mind between Mila & Life on Mars for my favourite. Horse amidst trees is engaging, trees are great. Sunrise/Sunset is flawless.

    ed3D - Thanks.

Hansmar - thank you. Very nicely coloured ringlike abstract. Interesting science fiction scene.

Bunyip02 - thank you. Your first artwork in 2026 shows a fascinating creature in a superbly done landscape.

Bryce Tree for Grass and Stones
mermaid asked me (on page 23: "Do you, by any chance have the grass tree idea by Slepalex on your website?" to whether there is a tutorial how to make a grass patch from a tree and I answered "No, I first thought I will just put it up here. On second thought it may be more useful to make a tutorial explaining the options and how to use it."

After starting to write the tutorial, I found I had made one about 8 years ago and have it on my website (Bryce & 3D CG Documents > Mine > Objects). Below the links to the PDFs for Tree Grass, Tree Stones and Tree Foliage (under Material):

Grass Patch made from a Bryce Tree  (Objects; 5 pages, 38 pictures, 3.5 MB)
    https://horo.ch/docs/mine/pdf/TreeGrass.pdf

Cairns made from a Bryce Tree (Objects; 5 pages, 14 pictures, 2 MB)
    Tree Stones : https://horo.ch/docs/mine/pdf/TreeStones.pdf

Tree Foliage (Material; 6 pages, 27 pictures, 2 MB)

I hope you will find them useful.

    Bunyip02, Horo, thank you.

Very big alien bug, Bunyip02. Would not want to encounter that.

And thanks for the reminder on your tutorials, Horo.

As you may have noted. I am going through pictures of old renders. I tend to save as Tiff first and then change to JPG. Therefore I think those Tiffs that I do not have as JPG as well will not have been shown on this site. However, I am not certain. Problem is that searching the forums does not work, so there is a serious risk of re-entering. Apologies if that occurs.

Does anybody have a good idea how to see what we have put into the forums in the past?

    Thanks Teobaldo.

Wow Hansmar nice colorful abstract, reminds me of UFO’s, the city-terrain is fantastic.

I also have a problem and don’t remember if I posted a render. In my case it’s because I upload all my renders to my Pinterest Boards and only a few on the forum; so I just post or repost some. I think it doesn’t really matter if we repost, it’s a good idea as they serve as reminders.

Bunyip02 – lovely alien creature in a colorful landscape, thanks for your comment.

Horo thanks for the links for the grass and other pdfs. I’m surprised I didn’t download them before.blush

ETA: apparently I had the stone pdf but not the other two. Thanks Horo once again.

mermaid - you are welcome and you inspired me to make the render below.

The rocks are 5 Bryce trees without foliage with a wood material from Islands 2. The grass is a Bryce tree without wood only with coniferous foliage with my own material. The two Alpenroses are each 2 Bryce trees, one with wood and foliage, the other one without wood and red leaves as blossoms. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI from HDRI Enhanced Skies and the key light by the sun. An old stone wall in the grass. ONLY BRYCE TREES.

Thanks mermaid010. And I agree it is not too bad to repost.

    Great render, Horo!

I changed the sky and light for the spheres render with a rather different result. Somehow makes me think of operating table lights (though I luckily have no first hand experience laying on such a table).

Horo – Superb idea, great render. I'm working on a similar idea, unfortunately I'm not getting good grass like you.

Hansmar – awesome results from changing the lighting.
