Oh, and on the huge scrolling banner (which is definitely too big and annoying IMO, but we couldn't convince them to change it)...
Fortunately for the moment the old "new releases" link still works and will allow you to at least browse new items without the banner if you want: http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases
It won't help for search and category browsing but it's better than nothing...

The "hide items I own" isn't working for me at the moment.

    EDIT
Oops, I wasn't logged in XD
Carry on, nothing to see here!

I hate it. Icons too big and too much scrolling.

I agree everything is still too big. The search bar doesn't change colour when I change to the Black Theme, so I have the grey strip across the page under two horizontal scrolling bars I hate and have to quickly vertically scroll past [IE9 - corporate pc and not allowed to change browsers, I think the grey bar is black on FF at home] and it appears to have broken the forums for me too - I no longer have the drop down from FORUMS when in the Forum Home to select the one I want to go into - have to Scroll (again!) to select the forum I want to go into. You shouldn't be making users scroll to get to what they want, it is tolerable through a list of new releases or a sale catagory, but you shouldn't have to scroll to get to them or find the forum you want into. I didn't think this was ready to go live yet.

Actually, Renderosity had a lot of really good reasons to do their redesign, not the least of which was the absolute brokenness of their prior system.
Apparently you don't recall just how bad it was. Among the bugs, I recall that everyone's render rewards were lost. And they were not refunded, the staff actually refused. For some reason the lead admin had a stiffy for hard-to-read text colors and teeny tiny font for the sale letters, and it took a couple months for the rest of the staff to finally convince him of the error in his ways. The wishlist was screwed up in all sorts of ways for the longest time, and even now you still can't sort by author. I'm serious. I honestly can't remember all of the problems off my head, but it was horrendous. RDNA had a lot of pretty serious bugs as well for awhile, though the more long-term ones were smaller in number, plus it's a much smaller site so naturally roll-outs were slower. The biggest bugs were the inability to see your back-purchases (even for re-download, unless you kept your receipts) and gift cards were kaput.

and did an extended beta period in the open with PC members
The fact that only PC members were in on it was incredibly underhanded, and I say that as a PC member! Also, the beta testing should have been mentioned on the promos and the fast grab promo slider pages, since most customers don't even view the forums.

    the large thumbnails,
I DESPISE LARGE THUMBNAILS!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 15 yo monitor, and I'm not changing it, because I have it covered in pretty stickers. Besides that, it's not broken yet, so why change it? I'm so damn sick and tired of every damn site changing to a high res bigass thumbnails and everything else design, UGGH!!

What happens? It works fine for me, the empty heart turns into a filled heart, indicating it’s in the wishlist. If I click through to the wishlist, it’s there…
How does it fail for you?

I click the heart icon and nothing happens. I look at my wishlist and the product is not there. There is ZERO excuse for these companies to roll out new design betas that haven't had all the major bugs worked out, yet they ALL do this! It actually makes me want to smash something!

so please don’t think the beta testers agreed with all of this new design!
Of course not. They're all like this, every last one of them. "Screw the customer this is business, take it or leave it!"

One thing I want to point out that Cypherfox and I noted this evening- on the PC sale page, once you buy an item, it disappears. There is no “hide what I own” option. This can be really bad if you want to buy a texture set and are curious as to whether you own the outfit. I would really like to see sales pages follow the same format as the other “hide what I own” pages.
That makes me even more pissed off.

For folks asking about Fast Grab and freebies, for now they are in the scrolling banner so you can easily find them.
I want a drop down. The new scrolling banner is annoying as hell because now it just scrolls really fast when you place your cursor over the arrows, and you have no control over the speed. Who the **** thought this turbo banner was a good ****ing idea?!

hate it. Icons too big and too much scrolling.
Also too much clicking due to the loss of the drop down menus. I'm having some serious trouble holding myself back on some serious flames at the Daz staff. I cannot for the life of me understand why they thought any of this was a good idea. Everything is broken, the wishlist is glitchy, can't add things to the wishlist, no drop-down menus, no forum advanced search, speed-racing scrolling banner, banners are even bigger and more annoying, PC items you own disappear and cannot be re-seen, no "open in new tab/window" for removing items from wishlist or adding/removing filters..., non-PC members were kept out of the loop... My gosh what a disaster.

Add to the other problems - I can't buy anything! I put the Regency and the Expansion for G2M into my cart, go to buy them and it tells me my cart is empty. I went in and checked it hadn't processed the order anyway and tried adding them to cart again and buying - still tells me my cart is empty. I played with the beta, and did checkout in it - so this is a new 'feature'. :-(

And from looking at the layout of the new release icons - I can't see anything because it is too busy - 3 across would be better. at the moment it is a wall of colours with no rest for the eye. I doubt i'll be browsing much while this is the layout, it is just too off putting.

    Bug report:

Weekly Freebies shows no entries if you already have all items on your account.. with no "HIDE ITEMS I OWN" checkbox in the market area... you must go back to the market pages to uncheck.

Can you possibly add that checkbox to this page as well?

    http://www.daz3d.com/freebies

Even with unticking Hide items I own at the market area I get show simply nothing in the freebie area ...

Love the new stuff, it's knocked the competition out of the ball park yet again. I think some times you just have to taking the step into the future, or you'll get left behind so far you will never get up again. Keep pushing the edge !!!

This does sound like the good old bug where you had to add something TOTALLY unrelated to the things you want to buy and then the cart shows up - and then you can delete your unwanted thing.

Congratulations, DAZ, for opening the new store without having to shut the whole site down for days as happened the last time. All things considered, this was a very smooth transition. Thank you for letting PC members test the beta.

I purchase an item. It no longer shows up. Within 30 days the price is lowered. How will I know this so I can ask for a refund?

You probably will have to untick the Hide items thingie.
And have your emails available, because the orders in your account don't show the actual price paid for each item, they only show the full price of the items in one order and then at the end the discount for everything.
Nowadays the order Email is the only way to know what you paid for one item.

Problem is that they are there in the cart until I hit Checkout from inside the cart, and then it tells me that my cart is empty - I am not going to purchase something I don't want just so I can get two things I do. :-( And when I add them again it doesn't tell me I can only buy one, because they have evaporated since I first put them in there. :-(

Not sure if the new layout is better or not (it's always a balance between visual appeal and practical delivery of relevant information), but...

The wishlist has now lost a large part of its reason for existing... I used to be able to tell firefox to go and find the phrase 'special price' and it would skip me to each of the products on there which happen to have discounts for any given day (which aren't always shown on the front page). As of now, 'special price' is no longer on there, which makes that impossible (and when you have hundreds, even thousands, of products on there...).

On the other hand, it'd be a massive improvement if, on the wishlist, a 'show only discounts' filter was there. :)

I proposed it a couple hours ago in the other thread.

+1 for the "show only discounts" or "sort by discount" as proposed, it's one of the main reasons for the Wishlist

That sounds like an actual bug (as opposed to opinion on the UI) as it showed correctly on the old site. It sounds like the changes done in the template weren't merged over and will be looked into to be verified and fixed.

I can neither confirm nor deny the plans for filtering by discount being an option on the filters (all filters in the store are the same engine, so it would be on all product lists, including wishlists).

I have my netbook with me today and was able to buy them using FF - though when I first went in it kept telling me a script had stopped working and that wouldn't stop until I upgraded from 32 to 33. I didn't get that script error before the beta went Live, so that is new. The not buying is on my corporate IE9, where I do most of my browsing and shopping during the day. But with the current UI I'll probably be visiting less anyway - it is just too much in your face. When it was just a Beta I could dip in, but now dealing with it full time is too much.

EDIT - no I'm still getting the script error message... click on anything to clear it and I have spinning balls loading pictures
