I will not buy sub-standard stuff "just to support the PAs or encourage more male content."

So what are you saying Ron ? the stuff for Dain 8 is sub-standard ? that's a bit harsh. Could you be more specific, this will help the people who made the content.

In my case I contacted Sales Support and asked for a refund (on the whole cart) with a request that the vendor of several of the outfits be contacted so they know that many customers want to modify/kitbash clothing and accessories, and Sales responded that they would do so. I'm not going to waste hard drive space on items that are so limited in usability.

Rather than just posting in the forums, we should let Sales know what we want.

When I was in the Air Force, I was in Supply and one time ran an Individual Equipment Unit in the 70s. I became familiar with flightsuits, g-suits, helmet bags, boots, gloves, and other accessories that pilots and navigators needed. Helmets were issued elsewhere. Flightsuits are baggy, nicknamed 'Poopysuits'. G-suits are compression strap on around them and are separate.

If it wasn't for the two free pro bundles, I would have as well. But those made it worth it. It's kind of sad that that much incentive is needed in order to purchase...the new characters should be able to stand on their own. There haven't been many that have done that for me, though...not like Sydney who stood out so much I bought her just for the tattoos.

I got the Pro for the other bundles and stuff I wanted. There's few Pro Bundles that had most or all items to my tastes. Several starter bundles had the items I liked, so that's good. Had the deal been similar to CJ 8's I would have only bought Dain 8 as I planned. To me, Dain 8 was good on his own, his bundle, not so much because I don't care for military stuff.

I also got Sydney 8's base only on release. She looked similar to some people I know IRL, with tweaks. Didn't care for her tattoos, though.

I have $640 worth of stuff in my cart, for only $64 - 2 free pro bundles and 9 other items ..none of which I would have purchased. Then I have a new pro bundle - Dain8 and 3 addon items to qualify for all the "free" items. When I really look at the stuff, I wouldn;t buy any of it  ... so why do I have it in my cart?

Well not choosing sides here but Ron didn't really say anything overtly disparaging MS.  This release was fraught with mistakes, rushed products and a good many of the product pages incomplete lacking in content promos and text.  I only bought Dain because I just didn't like most of what was offered.  Dain is nice, the body hair is lovely and all the rest!

As folks have brought up glaring issues with a couple of clothing items made me glad I didn't jump on the packs as I would have been furious.  As someone that knows how to build clothing I just can not fathom how these items were OK'd for release!  It's very concening to me and I'm sure others, including you with your "What's going on here" comment.  Ron wasn't out of line, DAZ was for allowing such a sloppy release!

I ultimately decided against completing my order, because even with all the incentives, it just wasn't worth it for me. I'll pick up Dain by himself some day, maybe, and I like the hairs he came with, but I'm not in a hurry for any of it. As for the free bundles, that deal will come along again, attached to things I actually want. For the other categories, I was mostly struggling to even find things that interested me.

I'm with you on this one. I was on the fence but leaning towards getting him in the end even if I didn't need any of the things right now.

Since they just removed the $2.20 offer though I feel like they made the decision for me. Skipping him. If I knew for sure they will correct the items of clothing I might reconsider but like this, I'm better off not getting the bundle. If they correct the clothing items I will get it later, if they don't I will only get him and that's it.

Same here. I really do like the character, I'll totally pick him up on his own, as well as a couple of the other characters along with the biogen University as I love the facemask, but the bundle itself after looking at it all again and seeing all these posts, I'll wait and see what the future holds.

I don't regret purchasing the Dain 8 bundle.  However, I would like to engage in one last gripe because I don't usually complain about the bundles or the sales, etc.  When I complain, it is usually about other stuff.

If I accept the default settings of the items that come with the Dain 8 bundle, everything "works."  Conforming figures conform.  UV maps don't overlap (so far).  Etc.  However, I expected something different than what I received in terms of the models, material zones, weightmaps, JCMs, etc., because in the past I had received assets constructed differently.  Assets constructed like the clothing included in the Dain 8 bundle targets a customer using content vastly different than how I use content.  I don't expect one-click solutions, in fact I rarely use such options, but I do expect the meshes, etc. to be in a form that I can easily customize.  If the Dain 8 bundle approach continues, Daz3D content will become less useful to me, with the expected decrease in willingness to purchase.  I won't rehash the specifics; readers can read for themselves above.

I am going to submit a ticket describing my expectations of models, etc., and how some items in the Dain 8 bundle differed from those expectations.

Venting complete.  Aaaaaaah.  I feel better, but not as good as how I will feel after submitting my ticket.  smiley

I wasn't expecting a new core figure a week after CJ 8, and much less a male figure! This is the first time in a long time that I purchase a pro bundle on the first day of release. I was originally going to buy just the base but the purple banner was just too good to let it pass. Now I have Diego and Gabriela 8 thanks to Dain. Thank you Daz for a good core male figure and great deal.

Well, I got off the fence and bought the bundle and the cartful of stuff I've been sitting on for almost three days. Despite the disappointments, misgivings, protests and overall bad impression of various items, it seems good enough (which isn't saying much), but the deal was too good to pass up. I'll judge the quality and usefulness for myself and see if it really is "good enough", but I will be wary of future products by the aptly-named Disruptive Publishers.

Dain as Hipster Clark Kent, warning the drivers to slow down at a pedestrian crossing. Dain and the Samurai Style hair have been back converted to G3M, and the Bouncer pose adjusted to fit G3M using Bone Doctor, slightly tweaked in other ways. The hair is strand-based (and apparently dforceable, according to other posters), but comes attached to a series of mix and match wearables, so all you have to do to get G3M (or G8F or G3F) to wear it is to edit the preferred base under scene identification to match the appropriate figure. The outfit is Millenial Business Casual, but the reason it doesn't look (all that) shrinkwrapped is Sickleyield's Demuscler projection morphs.

I picked up the pro bundle, primarily for the characters and all the stuff outside the bundles.

Daniel managed to genuinely shock me. He uses a revised reshadered version of the Darius 6 materials. I took a look inside his texture directory, and it's definitely Darius. I don't understand how that could happen, or why Daz would allow that.

He has anatomical elements textures that aren't used -- there aren't any presets (there is in fact only one preset for his skin) -- because they don't match. They match Darius 7 or 8 (not 6), they don't match Daniel, who has had some heavy editing down below.

What on earth was Daz thinking?

Wait what? H's using reshaded Darius 6 mats and has gens mats that don't match because they're darius 7 or 8? >_< anyone else confirm that?

Looking at all the textures in Photoshop, I do not believe that Daniel is using Darius 6 textures. Nipples, wrinkles around knuckles, lines around eyes, etc. appear to be different to me. But my eyes aren't what they used to be.

Here they are in order from left to right: Darius 6, Darius 7 and Daniel.

Daniel's genital textures are also not Darius 6 or 7's. However, they are the wrong "shade", especially lighter in front, so there are very visible seams that cannot be fixed unless you bring the torso and genital textures into another program and fix them so they blend together. Pretty clear why no preset was included to apply the texture. Also, there is no normal map for the genitals, unlike the rest of Daniel's textures.

Walker for Vladimir 8 has a similar issue where the gen textures are a completely different color from the body.

That said, this is a pass for me, the facial morphs seem nice enough, but the comically large traps ruin the basic figure for me. If I want a clingy suit, I can autofit a genesis 3 one that comes with multiple separate objects, anyway, and I think I already mentioned my thoughts on the merc outfit. I'm pretty sure even I could do better with a little marvelous designer and blender time. A real head-scratcher.

Timbales: I should probably have brought in a pair of grownup slacks from another outfit, or just put him in Eldritch Seeker, but brain was not working right last night. :)

The pants don't bother me as much as the necktie and shirt. It's my major pet peeve with men's clothing here. Unrealistic and/or mismatched style combinations of shirt collars and neckties, like the new BioGen University outfit. I just don't buy them anymore, they look silly to me. Figures have become so realistic, when the clothes don't it's a visual disconnect for me.

I won't buy the pro bundle because DAZ is pushing the better items into the "extra" pack and the bundle has lower quality items. Previously we could pick extra clothes with the bundle. XD

ps: changing the main promo (taking out the $2.2 category) earlier than 3rd feb was another demotivation for me to buy the bundle.

I like the look of Dain himself, and I'm likely to pick him up. Though I will certainly make those traps smaller. I like parts of the mercenary outfit, though not sure all of those parts work on their own. For those thath as the outfit, would any of you be willing to check? It's the gloves, the glasses and the headset piece I'm interesting in

Both of my computers are busy, but I have used the headpiece and the glasses without issue. I thought they were great. I haven't messed with the gloves at all.

FYI -The headset included with the Bouncer is identical to the one included with the merc outfit. Only the coiled cord was adjusted to a slightly different angle.

@butterflyfish reminded me of the watch. I used that and the materials for it were nice. These accessories are good assets for kitbashing.
