Oh yeah, I understand about old programs that don't work on a new comp, ran into that with Win7 of course, and now even I'm looking at the possibility that I may be replacing my computer soon as well, and will have to contend with much the same nonsense.

Win8 is alot faster like they said but it's a royal pain as far as I'm concerned...mainly I guess because I'm not interested in all the bells and whistles it has. I don't use any of the social networks and having all that on the computer is so unnecessary for me. I'll take the old style interface anything over that new Metro crap.

Oh of course its faster, its new, of course its faster, and would probably be even faster if they didn't include all the bells n whistles nobody wants!

Well, let me see...Windows XP was great and wildly popular; Windows Vista not so much, nor so popular; Windows 7, highly regarded and popular; Windows 8, neither (I call it Windows Fischer Price - and those "surface" computers I call Lego computers, they snap together, don't they? it fits). So, maybe Windows 9 will be great!

Cherokee, that is one radical looking car. I love the paint so I thought I would try to make something similar....but mine kinda looks more like a plum.....oh well, I guess I kinda like it anyway and it was fun trying.

    That looks awesome!

    Dana

    Thanks Dana

Some movies I didn't see mentioned yet:

Bullit -a charger and mustang car chase at the end
Cannnonball - the 70s version with another charger and mustang chase
Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry - Peter Fonda running from the cops and crashing into a train in a charger
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot - not really a car movie but has a hysterical scene where this guy has been driving and listening to his engine all day sucking his own exhaust fumes then crashes and starts shooting rabbits that were in his trunk.

That movie vanishing point - I seem to remember something peculiar about the car in the crash but it has been a long time since I've seen it.

Also...Schurby has a real nice 1959 Chevy Impala. Both hard top and convertible modes.

It's not free, but a deal at $15.00.

Another one of my all time favorites, the 56 Sunliner Convertible.

That Sunliner is gorgeous. Is it available anywhere?

It was at one time, but the arthor discovered that someone was selling all his cars on some site, and he pulled them from being downloaded. They were all made in Sketchup, believe it or not! He also has a really cool pink 59 caddy.

I've had the 59 Impala since Schurby brought it out, that's been over a year now.

Hey Everyone, I'm looking for a 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible model. Does anyone know where I might find a freebie?

Hmmm...there aren't a lot of Tbirds out there for free. There is a 64 that I know of and a 57 coupe here at the Daz store. A 66 will be hard to find. I will see what I can do for you.

    :-)

Here is a free 64 Tbird in .lwo format. You can use the free Poseray converter to convert it to an .obj file to import into Daz or Poser.

first car on the top left. Nice model too.

Here is a link to Poseray converter.

There is a 57 model that is a freebie, however, you are better off paying the $25 at DAZ for theirs.

LOL! Well, at least you noticed it! It was really released about the time of October Madness when Jack Tomlin had started releasing his Diner. So not quite a year!

Thanks for the quick reply, the DMI website seems to be down atm but it did take me to a website called Planit3d and I was able to download it from there in a max file, at least I think it's the same car.

Rose's Service is probably able to be downloaded still, but yeah, the guy who made the 56 Ford and the 61 Impala, both convertible and hard top, won't allow them to be downloaded now.

Sorry, I'm not that into cars that I know that much detail. I have an appreciation, but I don't have a lot of technical knowledge.
