..must have taken a while with all those emissive flames, but it looks far more more "correct" for what the lighting back then would look like compared to what we see in the cinema or television.

Thanks Guys , I I wasn't sure it looked a little dark to me.  I did move the gama up to 2.7  which helped a little  and those bill board props really are great for these big scenes that you need to populate a crowd for

I think it looks good as well.

It wasn't to long of a render it took about 6 minutes to render size was 3840 x 2160 and i reduced the size to 1080p which removed almost all the grainess & fireflies , But I counte 28 different candles which I used the real lights for the emissive and the fireplace i used emissives as well, and you can't see it But  behind the camera  they was a flame pot that I had cranked the lumens to around 15000000  which gave me that front light.

    I just love https://www.daz3d.com/hd-grand-piano-and-poses-for-genesis-3-and-8

    Amaaaazing!

I was originally shooting for a look reminiscent of Vladimir Horowitz, but not sure I got all the way there. Still.

I envision this to this performance:

...yeah, Iray photometric light settings seem so arbitrary and are so dependent on tone map render settings.  I tried setting Iray lights to watts but that involved even more trial and error.  Uber Area Lights are similar although you also have to deal with sampling rate on top of luminosity (often having to crank them to ludicrous percentages like 2,000%, 4,000%, or more) as well.

In 3DL with the standard or AoA lights, 100% is maximum brightness 10% is dim, similar to theatrical stage lights.   I like things simple and elegant.

The Tavern I like a lot.

Here is one I did last year, all lights are Emissive.

I got fed up waiting on this so stopped it at 85% and 40 hours rendering, CPU only :)

This has LAMH fur added to the wolf on the right.

The following were test renders and weren't rendered full term so are really quite grainy.

You know, putting that dress on a man was the first thing I was tempted to try too! (I didn't pick up yesterday though, so will probably grab today) I wonder if the dress likes retexturing (Aave's usually do) - I can just imgine Lee 8 (I wish!) in a nice red dragon "dress".

The outfit has a lot of textures already, and yeah... the style seems so proper for both sexes.

I had hoped that being dForce would make it CrossFit even better, and sure enough...

It also works AMAZINGLY in dForce; I’ve never gotten such smooth simulation from stuff I’ve converted myself.

...nice looking but ouch on the render time. How long did the tests go before you stopped them?

    I didn't take a note of the times so I don't know.

...still 40 hours.  I remember Totte mentioning that a render of Jack Tomalin's Library with the new Iray shader set that came out for it took something like 48 hours as he too is CPU bound.

    @kyoto kid

These two in my Art Studio thread using The Library took 18 and 14 hours :)

...Totte used every emissive light in the set without outdoor lighting. Maybe had an older lower core count CPU?

I think he has a MAC I don't know if that makes a difference though.

False vampire bats actually catch bugs from the ground. Woo. (And fish)

Iray and then a bunch of NIK tools to get the effect

The drawing was made by applying OSO Toon Shader on one of my older scenes, rendering it, editing the render little bit on Gimp. In the posted render it was then pasted on a primitive plane. The plane also has paper texture (found online) applied as a bumb map.
