...sounds like it dumped during the process.

I rendered a fairly simple scene with just one figure using this set, even removed a lot of stuff that had no affect on the camera's view as well as turned off all emissive lights (except the couple seen in the camera) and even after rendering all night (around 10 hours) it was still in process (about 45%) and grainy as heck.

The image on the left was rendered with 5000 samples, the one on the right was rendered with just 8 samples. I was working on a firefly filter and ended up reconstructing images, with little loss(or gain) of detail.

Finally came across a good way to do godrays... setting Max Path Length! (MPL, my new friend)

See, normally when trying to get a haze effect, the light just sort of bounces around filling the space, eliminating the crisp godrayness. But lowering Max Path Length eliminates most of the fuzz, because it cuts off the bouncing almost immediately.

Two passes, a godray pass with the general light level lowered a lot, the sun's size reduced as much as possible and amped up, then a more normal render, then layered.

Considering a reboot of my old webcomic... exploring character concepts.

Ananset-sheut (the shadow of Ananset, one of the Gods of Phalanges station. The spirits and gods of Far Shoals are AI, who often emulate various mythologies of ancient Earth; in the region of the Cobalt Vanguard, they have taken up the model of Egyptian myth)

Render double size, apply despeckle or Noise median in Photoshop, shrink.

    Siblings

A childhood photo recreation with some gender bending, since the original photo features me and my little brother, but this baby model is based on the Genesis 8 Female. Funny thing is, that before my brother was born, I wanted a sister, so I guess you could say this render shows an alternate reality, where I got my wish.
