So after waiting forever for this portrait to render, I end up making it grainy in post. I created I think six different versions in post while waiting for another image to render forever that I'm probably going to do massive post on too...

I still prefer the original Japanese version.  Macek/HarmonyGold did a decent job stitching together the three separate series into a semi-coherent whole, but a lot got cut out.  And there is a reason the term 'Maceker' (a la massacre) became a term in Anime Fandom for a long time......I still cringe at some of the edits to this day.

And the original Macross movie ("Macross - Do you remember, love") is a brilliant piece of cinema to this day.

I saw the original movie a long time ago, but never the orignal series.  I'll have to get my hands on it.  I saw Macross II on iTunes.  I'm going to pick that one up and watch it.

I wasn't thrilled with Macross II.  But Macross Plus?  That was quite awesome, and a definitely good re-work of the original Macross:DYRL themes.  Great animation and characters too.

The original three series (Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada) weren't really meant to connect.  They existed in the same 'universe', but were supposed to be completely separate.  "Robotech" kind of smashed them together to make a single epic across three generations.

But it was still fun, and introduced a HUGE number of westerners to the genre....much like Star-Blazers/Space-Cruiser Yamato did.

(My prize collectible is my VHS copy of the original Macross:DYRL movie.....IN ENGLISH, Subtitled in Japanese, with voices by the original japanese voice actors.  It was made as an english teaching tool for schools in Japan.  It's incredible to hear some of the odd translation work they did.....)

Macross Plus is on iTunes as well.  Couldn't find it on Amazon Prime.

    A day lake & a dollar short...

...but I finally got that Bardot Dress dForced without exploding while she was sitting on very near the swing...

I only let it run 10.5 hours (358 iterations) because well it didn't look as another 1750 iterations as so was going to add a whole lot at that camera distance.

Love that Tree & Swing set, look at it! Only the dirt path is so-so, the rest wow!

Being doing some interior shots, forgot to enable noise filter. One spot light for the red lamp, two planes for the other two lamps.
