Actually I think on reflection that it might be muricide - Latin is deliberately confusing - but having exerted myself to check the dictionary it didn't have either version.
And now I feel betrayed - an online search did confirm muricide where the Concise Oxford didn't.
I was busy creating the "Musicide!" render and didn't see your muricide message. So I stuck with musicide.
I think "musicide" must be when Richard starts singing?
Running two computers at the same timeDear experts,
Background: I have a new RTX-5090/64 GB coming next Friday (I hope - long story). I was going to give my RTX-4090/64 GB to my kid, but the young'uns want laptops, so now I have two desktop PCs.
I tried to search the Forum without luck - every other post has the word "computer" in it - for answers to my question, but now I turn to you.
Questions:- How would you suggest I use two computers collaboratively for creating art in Daz? Or is that even a good idea?
- I think Daz allows me to have instances going at the same time on two different PCs, but can anyone confirm this? I suppose you would set up a scene on one and generate the image/animation off the other. I could easily exchange data with a Dropbox folder, I suppose.
- If you recommend using two machines, would you use the 5090 for the design work or for the rendering?
Thanks in advance!
Angkor Wat Temple interior [Commercial]Richard Haseltine said:
So this is the Poser format version? I am not seeing an error with the DS version.
Richard,
Ruins of Angkor Wat – Temple (https://www.daz3d.com/the-ruins-of-angkor-wat-temple) comes in Poser, OBJ, and DUF file formats. The file in question, Godrays.pp2, is a Poser file. The two screen shots in my earlier post show the first file that could not be found – MRLN_GodrayR02.obj. The left screen capture shows the Please locate search window in Poser 11 and the second screen capture shows the Missing Files popup window in Daz Studio 4.24. There are six or so such OBJ files that Godrays.pp2 attempts to find but cannot.
The product Ruins of Angkor Wat also has a Godrays.duf file and a Godrays.pp2 file. Neither of them calls for any of the OBJ files that the Godrays.pp2 file in Ruins of Angkor Wat - Temple calls for and both of them load without error. I'm thinking that the Godrays.pp2 file in Ruins of Angkor Wat - Temple should not have been included at all in the product.
SMART CONTENT - Missing filesHere's a good example of what I mean! The products basically don't match what I just got and they don't appear at the top or in order but if I try to search it I can still find it which is just confusing.
I never had this issue before.
Sound EffectsPulled from my SFX bookmarks in no particular order:
https://pixabay.com/sound-effects/
https://www.playonloop.com/sound-effects-for-videos/
No account needed for any of them unless you want to actually buy something. As JM has mentioned, do carefully check the licenses if you plan to do anything public with the audio. Most SFX on these sites are CC0 or CC-BY but not all of them.
Sound Effectsmake sure to download all 3 of the zips that are linked, and just to give an idea of the layout of soundly, it really makes it easy to search for whatever you need "thunder clap" for example shown in pic.
You will need to create an account and sign in to use Soundly, but you don't need to buy anything, its totally free to use it to browse your local library of sounds (up to 10,000 local sound files), no need to use the cloud so don't let the marketing of it scare you away.
Sound EffectsDear Experts,
I searched the Forum without luck so now I am asking you: Can you recommend a source for public-domain sound effects, e.g. cars driving by, thunder claps, ...?
Thanks in advance!
Nvidia shelves 2026 new card releasesupdate. GTX 1060 VIDEO.
Well, after palying with Anima I decided to give a look at video generation. By the way I advise Anima a lot, the Lumina 2 AI chat is extremely powerful and can also turn Anima into a semi-photoreal style, despite everyone keeps telling this is not what the model is for.
https://huggingface.co/circlestone-labs/Anima/discussions/236
To make video generation on a 1060 I struggled a little, because vram is 6gb. But finally I managed to find the right guys for the job. The key is always to use quantized versions, plus there's a distilled quantized version for LTXV 0.9.6, that means the video generation is fast, same as Anima Turbo with images.
https://huggingface.co/city96/LTX-Video-0.9.6-distilled-gguf
https://huggingface.co/city96/t5-v1_1-xxl-encoder-gguf/tree/main
With these guys and the powerful memory management of ComfyUI, I can do 768x512 animations with no limits for the frame numbers, it takes 4.5 vram max and 9 gb ram max. The quality is good enough, it preserves the semirealistic anima style and does animation on a preview image. Here it computed 57 frames in about 90 seconds, thanks to the distilled version.
edit. Below as example there's Chun-Li waving at the viewer. Note that LTXV is trained with real photos, so it tends to change anime characters into real people. Another great feature of Anima is, I didn't use any LoRA, as Anima is heavily trained on anime and games so it knows perfectly how Chun-Li is made, just mention her in the prompt and Lumina brings her out for you. I apologize for the not excellent quality I'm just started with LTXV so can't hadle the parameters well yet.
For the mp4 just remove the zip extension as the forum doesn't allow mp4.
What happened to RenderQue in v. 6.25.2026.14722 (64-bit) ?Hi,
I had taken a break from rendering for a couple of months, and have come back to find Geometry Sculptor and RenderQue on Daz 6 gone. They are not in the Installed Pluginns. Is there an issue with my computer or settings, or is this something new in general? These are two critical pluginns for my workflow, especially Geomerty Scupltor, so if they have been removed for some reason, when can I expect them back or a substitute?
I don't know how the Changelog works, but it seems my version has at least two versions that have been pushed out after 14722 and I don't show any requests for updates to Daz 6 in DIM. I never know when something is new or when I should go to tech support, but I thought I'd give them a break and try the forum first
Thanks ahead for any input!Daz Studio and LinuxI apologize for my ignorance if this has already been discussed and solutions have been found for my problem, but does anyone know how to fix the bug where the mouse seems to get stuck when moving the camera, whether using the cube in the upper-right corner or the shortcuts in DAZ Studio 6? I’m using an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. I asked Gemini for help (I have the Pro version because of my Google Drive subscription), and he guided me perfectly through the installation on Lutris. The program is running perfectly despite Wine’s archaic explorer.exe… Gemini wasn’t able to help me, even though he showed me several alternatives to try to fix this error. I did a quick search in this thread but didn’t find my specific problem.

[...]I wonder why I still feel something wrong... I wanted to create a red tunned atmosphere, but maybe it's a bit too much?
I would try to make the **red tunnel** more visible with a contrast. Maybe lighting?
And as a basic tip for "error" search in images: changing the view often helps (mirroring, rotating...).
how do people simulate broken bones?Thank you both for giving it some thought. I'm really intrigued by this Fisio add-on that I hadn't seen before, although it won't help with the current project. (Do you know if it's just for animation? I don't do animation but I'd love to learn how to present stills of my objects as if in the midst of actions like those. I never did get the hang of... links, right? But this isn't the thread for teaching me about links.) I had done some searches online for how to illustrate my broken-bones question here in the thread. I must not be asking it quite right. The answers presuppose a different situation than I'm trying to get at. The internet search results only show me x-rays, for example, but if I add those here, folks might assume I'm looking for x-rays. I'm actually trying to illustrate someone with a serious injury in the absence of medical attention. It might help to imagine depicting a break that's only a couple of hours old, say... a thousand years ago. I don't even really know what that looks like, despite all the broken bones I had as a kid. (No, it's not me in my scene. I'm only like 850-something.)
Genesis 10Thanks for the acknowledgement. It helps to know I'm not the only one tuned in to the sporadic burst of negativity here.
I look back to that sense of community during the CV-19 period. Maybe that time was an exception, everyone being locked down an all; that what we see today is the baseline norm. Gosh, it's hard to fathom though how a handful of folks here have always been that negative. Today its nudity (the lack thereof or too much of it), hiking price of GPU, or generative AI. Makes me wonder what seeds planted today will blossom into tomorrow's gripes.
Early this year I read an interview of famous English actor. In his youth his father, also accomplished on the stage, adviced him to accept life's insanity, that there's always some sort of bedlam breaking out somewhere. Otherwise, if he didn't, then life would slowly grind him down. Food for thought.
Anyhow, I don't want to spam this thread. Talk of Genesis 10 is heating up and I really can't place a finger on all the passion people invest in it, for or against. When G10 comes out though, I'm sure it'll be something worth looking into.

Cheers!

Back in those days the Forum was abuzz with positive energy. Lots of people were sharing their renders; groups actively hosted thematic contests; people discussed tips and tutorials. There was a community vibe on the upswing. That's how I remembered things.
These days ... I don't doubt that the larger community is just as active, perhaps even more so. But my sense is that all of that positive energy has migrated elsewhere. What we're left here in the Forum, particularly the Commons, is scholeric and cantankerous. Sure there's always been snark and sarcasm here, but the ones I see now are backed by conviction, the sort that takes a no-retreat-no-surrender, take-no-prisoners-alive ethos.
I feel like this describes the entire world right now.
Also, I've been around so long that half the stuff in the store these days look like things that people used to give away in Rendo's Free Stuff. I'm glad that we have better figures and renderers now, but the community as a whole certainly isn't as enjoyable as it was back then.
If one ignores the entire V4 Vs. Genesis, Poser Vs. DS acrimony that literally split the userbase in half and caused an exodus of then long-time vendors and users from these climes, perhaps. I became really active around that time and the things going on these days seem pretty tame compared to some of the sniping and diatribes that went on back then.

I don't think even the place with a large number of kinky props has a surplus of dungeon environments. :)
There's a few about on the "other" sites, albeit with obscure names so they don't immediately show up in a search. Only came across them when I was looking for a certain type of bathroom environment .
Perhaps a bathroom that isn't 30x40?
There are a few bathrooms of normal proportions, though they're usually found as part of an apartment set or some such, but yeah, you could fit a lot of apartments inside of many of the DAZ bathrooms, and even then they can have a lot of strange ommisions I had a long running thread about how many of the toilets either had no seperate seats or didn't open at all. and I've often thought about starting one about all of the loft apartments where the stairs have no handrails. Who would buy such a thing in real life? DAZ archeitecture can be built on some really strange denial of things like building codes...
