List of G9 Core FiguresWhich core figures have official age alternative shapes besides Olympia 9 (base, elder, young)?
I am surprised there is one for Olympia but not Victoria. The third party Young Victoria promos looked really off to me https://www.daz3d.com/young-victoria, and there is no elder Victoria.
Thanks
Genesis 9 LIE Makeup Scripts Not ExecutingMake-up scripts work as expected on my side. I tested a couple of scripts on Victoria 9. They work fine on the character as well as the settings of LIE stacks. (ss1~2)
However, Remove make-up scripts didn't work 100% correctly.... they didn't reset Metallic Flakes Enable to Off...(ss3)
I installed the product with DIM ~~
The older generation: Victoria 2/3, Michael 2/3 and their children rendersI was working on an old RNDA old freebie thought it was pretty cool.
This is Victoria 2 with CDI's Roxanne injected. Her hardware, wings, crown, bracers and neck collar are Dreampaint's Yarishan. Her train is Jepe's Sheetz for V4 sample. Boots are Cyber Boots for Victoria by gps. Rendered in iray. The texture on V2's body and Sheetz is RNDA's DNA Dragon Scales-V3. I just updated them to work in iray.
Audrey 9 - the obligatory discussion threadI preferred the Pro Bundles to be honest. For example when Victoria 9 was released, I purchased the Victoria 9 Mega Bundle which had the character w/HD, two hairs and their texture packs, two environments, four outfits, and two pose sets and an expression pack. All very useful for a first release character of a new generation. Better yet, all were of incredible usefulness and quality. While that package was marked at $132.29, I paid $76.09 for it. It has now been broken down into smaller bundles.
But with Genesis 9 it seems that a lot of the repetitive add-ons to a DO character were put into https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-9-starter-essentials, https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-9-starter-essentials-expansion, and recently https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-9-toon-starter-essentials-expansion. That seems to avoid a lot of padding.
But, when I do work with a DO character, I don't go to the essentials, I have to search in Smart Content for makeup or cosmetics or eyes or brows...
I do know that I am more often buying the character, HD, maybe a hair and wishlisting clothing/textures. I do not like bundles being filled with environments that have little to do with the character, or I will have no use for. Poses/expressions, well I have a lot of them. So many of them are a hard pass. I am also wishlisting and am prepared to wait for better prices.
I also don't want to bog down G9 like I did with G8/8.1 with characters, morphs, poses, expressions. One thing about G9 versus previous generations, we are not getting extra characters often padded into the bundles.

Daz crashes using Riversoft Art's clothing convertersI don't own either the converter from Genesis 8 to 9 or the converter from V4 to G8F. I only own the converter from G3F to G8F, so I can't try to reproduce the error you are having with your two converter products. Maybe someone else can.
Here is the commercial thread for the converter from V4 to G8.Some of your links in the message above do not work. It is because of a gotcha in the Daz forum. If you paste in a URL and do not hit Enter afterwards, the forum tacks on a semicolon at the end of the URL (which is coded as %C2%A0 at the end of the URL). You can avoid that problem by hitting Enter or by using the link icon to paste the URL in as a link in your pasted URL text.
You are not allowed to post links to products in other stores, unless someone specifically asks for it, according to my understanding. If RiverSoft Art needs the product to reproduce your problem, and he asks for it, I believe that you would then be allowed to link it.
Daz crashes using Riversoft Art's clothing convertersOops, sorry.
It's Daz Studio 4.24.0.3 (64-bit).
I tried https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-sunny-days-2-for-genesis-8-females and https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-riviera-chic-for-genesis-8-and-81-females, each piece separately, on Genesis 8 to 9 https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-clothing-converter-from-genesis-8-to-genesis-9
and something from the other store (I'm not allowed to post the link, right?) on Victoria 4 to Genesis 8 Female. https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-clothing-converter-from-victoria-4-to-genesis-8-female
Is there a commercial thread for the 4 to 8? I couldn't find it.
Thanks for the guidance.

Elor and Matt_Castle all of your images look so great! (And it reminds me I should render something to contribute here as well.)
Thank you :)
And adding to rigged laptops discussion, this pose and props set seems to have a fully rigged one: https://www.daz3d.com/z-modern-gadgets-props-and-poses-for-genesis-8 and it's in the outlet at the moment.
KindredArts is also sharing a free rigged laptop:

I have a new render, Vigil, for 'Llola Lane’s RENDER A MONTH Challenge 2025':
A light breeze was blowing around Victoria while she kept vigil for the coming battle.
Was it faith, was it a strange meteorological event, Lacey could not say, but she kept a vigil of her own, from the shadows, ready to dispose of any fool trying to take advantage of her beloved vigil.
Like rogues and paladins, light and shadow make strange bedfellows, but as her grandpa always said, to praise the work her grandma did in the shadow, allowing him to shine, ‘It is the shadows that give strength and depth to the figures in a painting’.

The newly used items are:
Counting the hammer (not purchased from Daz), it's a #4News challenge

Thank you and sorry, but I don't think I have openable 3D cream

The themes I have chosed for this month are 'Look-up' and 'Lighting' and my render is Vigil:

Items used should all be linked in the gallery.
DO Makeup System IssuesDaz Originals Makeup System products - as well as though from Victoria 9 onwards that had a different naming convention - aren't working for me in Studio 4.24. I double click to apply and nothing. Interestingly, they work fine in Daz 2025 alpha.
Anyone else either having this issue, in which case it's probably a Studio 4.24 bug, or know what might've gone wrong in my install so I can troubleshoot/fix it?
What happened to Michael (and Victoria 4)?Michael 4 and Victoria 4 are still a big thing among the Poser community.
DAZ's figures have advanced by a lot during the past fourteen years. The real breakthrough (imo) came with Genesis 3. Michael and Victoria are now character morphs of Genesis base figures.
The latest iteration is Genesis 9, which of course has optional Michael and Victoria morphs.Suggestion for a DS ToolWhich can be done with a GeoGraft or a morph.
While Daz allowed the use of RTE files up to Victoria 4 it isn't an automatically permissible thing and as far as I know it isn't allowed for Genesis #.

I like Audrey although I would have preferred a G8F version, or G9 and G8 versions ( some vendors do that, why not all? ).
Beside the fact that producing items for 2 bases figures takes a lot more work but doesn't necessarily generate enough extra sales to make it worth it, the chances of Daz introducing a new G8 core figure are very, very low...
I recall them introducing one new G8 core character since the release of G9, but it was under pretty extraordinary circumstances. I don't remember any of the details, though.
Probably something between that weird early release of the half-finished Victoria 9 and when the full version was released. AFAICR, the last G8 (G8.1 actually) core figure was Crow, who came out about a week before the full VIctoria bundle dropped.
What happened to Michael (and Victoria 4)?Hi,
after a long absence (buying a new computer, having to send it in for repairs shortly after) I finally got around to install DAZ on it (the main reason for buying the new machine).
Running 4.24. I cant seem to install the Generation 4 figures? Michael 4 Base / Victoria 4.2 Base do not show up in the Product list or the in Studio Install list. When I install them over DIM they still don't show up in the product list nor in My Content (nor My Library). What am I missing?
Smart content missing. In my smart content is missing about 95% of the content I had before.
I have a single figure in my figures, Summer. Nothing else.
I get the same pose set for my Genesis 9, Genesis 8 female figure and Victoria 3, everything else is missing.
Everything worked fine last October. Then when I tried to do a Christmas render in November and December that was when the missing poses happened.
I’ve tried various things and nothing changed including hitting the filter by content box on and off, uninstalling DAZ and resetting the database.
I’m beyond my breaking point on this problem. I have thousands of dollars of content and can’t use it.
whos this and where can i get her and the vitiligowhos this and where can i get her and the vitiligoThere is no image attached, but https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-9-hd?
Mousso - Albany HD for Genesis 9I have manually transferred Albany to G9. Her face is similar to Victoria 9, including the eyes (just need to be a bit more "relaxed") and nose (need to be a bit more pinched and turned upwards a bit). But, Albany has those rounded cheekbones which completely differentiates her face from V9's face.
If Chanel G8F can come back as Kim G9, then Albany should come back too under another name.
Error message when loading Genesis 9Richard Haseltine said:
Memory would be tight, certainly, and the GPU probably wouldn't be useful. Unfortunately PBRSkin requires at least DS 4.15.x.x
No worries. I have literally thousands of characters and items to play with from victoria 4 to G8. I doubt I will get bored anytime soon. Appreciate it!
Using Genesis 9 method to practice drawing by handYou do not need the Premiere software. The free version is totally capable of making great stuff.
What you would benefit a lot from is getting some poses and getting some specific textures. Some specific examples would be muscle textures. For example, for G9
- https://www.daz3d.com/masculine-muscle-maps-for-genesis-9
- https://www.daz3d.com/feminine-muscle-maps-for-genesis-9.
Probably it is a good idea to get the Muscles Genesis version 8&3, because you can find more poses, and sometimes with a great discount n_n
- https://www.daz3d.com/muscle-maps-for-genesis-3-and-8-female
- https://www.daz3d.com/muscle-maps-for-genesis-3-and-8-male
There are also some Morphs. Look for one that has sliders so you can adjust the intensity. This would be useful to define shapes, with skin on top :)Also, you could get a skeleton. There is one for Victoria 4 and Michael 4. That is something that nothing else can do drawing by viewing the muscles themselves and seeing the bones.
And if you want to adjust the poses, the Power Pose panel is your best friend.
---
But even using the free version and some free assets you can get, I would say that, besides posing, the most important thing would be lighting and framing. Try first 1 light setups.
