Yes, that's something I've done in the past; I had one scene where to get the right balance between the look of some flaming wings and the light they were casting, I ended up creating a ghost light geoshell.
Unfortunately, the second part isn’t coming out soon, but we’re busy with the first one anyway for now. Oh yes – greed… ;-) Thanks for the great tips, FenixPhoenix!
It maybe a long time before I can use any of my new products I am buying as I am focused on Dreamlight's tutorials and using them with DS6.25.(Beta) That has sometimes taken me down a rabbit hole of why doesn't this work and figuring out if it is me or the latest version of DS. I slotting it in to a small window of time when I can have my computer on before I have to turn it off due to it heating my room up too much. My eye/hand coordination can go wonky also after a number of hours on the computer, so I have to break for that too.
But I will have these products when I come up for air. And magic effects are one of my favorite products to buy and use. I love Urban Fantasy.
and thaf they spell out exactly what it is in the description

I actually do use strandbased updos a lot myself and if they are dforce and you want them to render fast, you actually can uncheck dforce simulation in parameters too
It's okay, but I find Goldtassel''s older Edwardian hair for Genesis 3 to both a better historical match (Edwardian women only washed their hair once or twice a month whereas this looks like it was just freshly shampooed and conditioned) and to have more shape and adjustment morphs.
Well I love the new Edwardian Hair and I have all the older versions as well. My younger sister had long, blonde hair in the 60s/70s and one way she would put it up was in an Edwardian updo. So freshly washed, blown-dried hair of today would be reasonable in that style, especially for a special occasion.
The NekoBimi set is absolutely lovely and goes perfectly with the café and its décor – better than the sushi set. It went straight into my cart. Still, there are a few (minor) things that bother me:
- Why do the mochi and a few other desserts look so dry in the promo images? Most of the food has at least a very slight sheen. OK, that can be changed. But:
- Why are the mochi filled with ice cream and a strawberry? I’ve heard that’s a US invention and hardly known in Japan. It isn’t sold in the many Japanese and Korean shops in our town either, even though they do sell mochi with lots of different fillings (taro is my favourite). A thin layer of mochi with a huge scoop of ice cream inside is very unsatisfying for mochi lovers like me.
- Why isn’t there a café sign? Or is that still to come?

Mochi ice cream is easily found around here (France). They're quite nice, though rather different from traditional mochi which I also love (my personal favorite being the anko ones)

This is my favorite Japanese dessert, and also one of the most representative Japanese desserts of modern times.
Oh, that sounds delicious, thank you! I am illiterate in Japanese characters, but my translation program writes:
“Yuki Ichigo” is a Western-style confectionery that has been sold by Yamazaki Baking since 1998. It consists of whipped cream, sponge cake, and strawberries wrapped in “gyuhi,” a type of mochi used in traditional Japanese sweets. It offers the delicious blend of Japanese and Western flavors.

Oh so that's cream rather than ice cream. That sounds delicious, I'll have to check if I can find something similar in one of the Japanese pastry shops around here...
Hey, I don't want to start any witch hunts or anything, so please don't. I'm just curious if Polish has started using AI for their models? Some of those crowns are kind of weird (Like the druid crown with antlers that connect to each other in loops), and I've noticed a few other pieces seem similar lately. I just want to make an informed decision on whether to purchase or not. Thanks!

they are not supposed to according to DAZ3D
truthfully, I have no idea but this has been discussed before and as I said, the item I bought that some thought was, upon examination looked like it was sculpted in Zbrush, Zremeshed and unwrapped with UVmaster then polypainted roughly to me. Sort of like I do myself (and don't sell because it's rough AF)

You know, I'm really not sure that this general consensus in the forums that DAZ won't allow use of AI for ownership reasons is still holding up in 2026. I've put in a ticket today, asking DAZ to give us a way to determine whether generative AI has in fact been used in a given product. GenAI is something that we'll increasingly need to declare if we post our work elsewhere, so we're gonna need to know, not guess. Other sites don't make any fuss about this, so I'm hoping eventually, DAZ will follow suit.

Daz might not allow it. But there's one thing in not allowing it, another in not enforcing the policy (and seeing as their own marketing materials were under question several times...), and then another in PAs not disclosing it. Daz can only do so much in enforcing the policy, and if anyone is dishonest in their "no, I didn't use any genAI" statement, it's hard to prove.
I see it in the 2d digital art side of things when AI users are trying to pretend they are not using AI but actually digitally painting their works from scratch and going through lengths to prove it's not genAI (including creating fake progress videos, fake recordings of themselves painting, and so on).
So I get it that enforcing anything might not be possible. But I would appreciate that Daz was actually more discerning, because there are more and more products here that look like AI slop. They claim that it hurts PAs. But allowing what looks like AI (whether it is or not, is not the point) to go through to the store, is actually more hurtful in the long run. I personally have a growing list of PAs I won't buy from at all, because their products have similar qualities to AI-generated images. But I can't tell, and the official stance of "Daz doesn't allow AI" is very dismissive as the customer support won't even investigate products in question. It's just "Daz doesn't allow AI so go away, there's no problem." (Personal experience as I contacted the support about it with links to specific problems.)
Out of the two, I'd prefer Daz say they allow AI and hope that PAs would mostly be honest about their AI use when they didn't have to hide it, if any of them is hiding now.
Some new products aren't as good as previous ones in terms of details, but they're not as bad as products that claim to be AI-generated. Did they change the production staff? Or the production methods? Unless there's video footage of the manufacturing process available...
Speaking of which, I recently found out that Chris Cox has a live streaming channel, that's great! Does anyone know of any other DAZ Artists who do live streaming channels?
I've always wanted a crown-themed set; it's nice overall, but unfortunately, there aren't any other colors to choose from. The Dark Fantasy Crown, however, falls a bit short in terms of detail compared to the other two.
The texture is absolutely dreamy. The shoulder armor is from another outfit; is this the next product? The hair is amazing; I never even noticed it before.
I've been wanting architecture like this, reminiscent of the Kowloon Walled City.
Although the styles are different, they are very interesting. Now, all I need to do is hang a clothesline in the middle and hang clothes to dry, and the composition will be perfect.

The thing is, there really is no official, customer-facing DAZ statement on AI use at all that I can find anywhere. Maybe I haven' t looked thoroughly enough, but in this day and age, I shouldn't have to. If PAs feel comfortable using genAI, then they should be comfortable owning up to it. They could just let us now in the product descriptions going forward, if DAZ feels they cannot enforce any AI policies themselves.
I've given myself a general moratorium for now on not buying new stuff that i might want to use for publishing videos and such elsewhere if it's produced after 2024, and if I can't find what I consider sufficient indicators online that the PA was not or at least not predominantly using AI. But this gets so tedious so fast and takes ages to do for every single new product i might want to use. So I buy a lot less now, and will continue to do so.
@AsuCafe, for me, it's not so much about the quality as about the repercussions of genAI. Let's not get into a discussion on this though, it'll only derail the thread.

No, there's is no official statement. You get it only when you contact customer support. And from their behavior it seems that they think that having that policy in place solves the problem. They don't seem to be enforcing it in any way or even interested in doing anything.
And while I wish Daz had a filter for AI generated or assisted assets, I also know that there are people out there who use AI for images, text, and other things, but they pretend they don't, so I can see why Daz is just choosing not to do anything, because any system is only as good as the people using it are honest.

This is an older item that showed up in the scroll for 'Start With an Edge' or 'Edgy Weapons', https://www.daz3d.com/fg-hand-props-for-genesis-9-feminine. Out of curiosity I looked at it and realized the hand poses were useful for a variety of normal props I already own, besides the ones that are included in the product. It is base price $18.99 and right now at $3.99 with a new product. I did check the ReadMe's File List to verify there were poses since it is not clear on the promo's what's included.

The NekoBimi set is absolutely lovely and goes perfectly with the café and its décor – better than the sushi set. It went straight into my cart. Still, there are a few (minor) things that bother me:

I believe there are many different versions of this; the one I recall having is the ice cream version.
The sudden change in quality from quite a few PAs compared to previous items in their catalogs is really something else.

It is base price $18.99 and right now at $3.99 with a new product. I did check the ReadMe's File List to verify there were poses since it is not clear on the promo's what's included.
