One of the things I've learned from forum members is if there's anything I would like to get that isn't on sale, put it in the Wish List. I've missed out from not being able to get items I've wanted when WL sales happen. They don't happen often, but they can be a real savings when they do (not counting the ones that require an expensive buy-in). I'm hoping there'll be at least one good WL deal during the PA sale.
...my thinking it will not be thus weekend but the next which as I don't get my pension deposit until the next Monday means missing the start (which usually features artists like Stonemason). Props, environments, and architecture sets are about the only items I purchase these days (unless its a cool new G9 release by RawArt).
It's easy to stop spending money here when I've had my electricity and internet disconnected.
Now I'm worried about eviction from my home.
Hey, DAZ it's been a wild ride. But I never even used most of what I bought.
Damn, you should have talked to someone already but better late than never
budget, now!
is there someone at your home that can help you get your affairs in order
most utilities will work out a payment plan down here in Australia, unfortunately I don't know about such stuff in the US, having stuff allocated in your banking account for direct debit can help and paying yourself a set amount of spending money
this hobby does have addiction qualities but if it's impacting your life to that extent, just stop spending a cent on it now!
there are enough free options you shouldn't have to

Yes, utilities in the US should work with him on a payment program. I know my electric does (National Grid).
I've been placed on and off some programs to get help with medical expenses, etc.
(Medical Assistance will pay for my new bifocal eyeglasses. The top will be for reading the computer screen. The bottom will be for reading books.)
But some of these programs just never do anything once I'm signed on. They collect money from the state or county government, but never actually do anything for me.
I've been crying for someone to help with managing the finances... It's been 3 years now,,, No luck.
I've paid up my electric bill.. made it current. Then I missed one payment and they're hounding me again.
In the meantime I'm using my bank to automatically send checks each month for a couple bills.

autopay from your bank account usualy works pretty well. In addition, some companies will give you a discount for doing so.
Ron, do you get a low income rate on your electric? Where I live you can send in proof that you get other kinds of assistance and they'll give you a discount rate. I don't know which states have a program like that, but mine does, so maybe yours does, too.
The PA sale pretty much runs right into the year end Holiday sale. That's just too much continuous buy tension for me, both from a pyschological perspective and economic perpective. Its mentally as well financially draining. So I'm trying to not buy anything else until the end of the PA sale and then I'll just go hogwild for the Holiday sale. The Content Catalog app has given me a lot of forgotten things to play with, that should hold me over for a few months.
However, no one on our office staff is able to help complete the forms.
I have Dyslexia, and also get crippling anxiety whenever I try to do the forms.
I had an appointment with my eye doctor today. She prescribed special "dual bifocals" which will help to read computer screens as well as books.
That will make the experience easier, physically, but the other problems will remain.
...yeah, I remember that form,. We had it here as well. a long 4 page carbon form with spaces so small anyone with arthritis (like I have) had great trouble filling it out and making what was written, legible
Originally we had to go to a designated office of a local charity organisation, all of which of course were inconveniently located in far flung burbs (long ride on transit) and it was first come first serve so you had get there early and sit around waiting a good part of the day to be seen (no appointments). If you didn't get seen, it was often a wasted trip and you had to go back again.
A couple years ago they took to mailing the form with a return envelope, but you were left on your own when it came to figuring out what you needed to fill out an what to leave alone as it included no instructions.
With both of the above methods there was wait time of 40 days for learning if you were accepted and the amount of your award, so you were still liable for paying your bill until then. If you made a mistake you were sent a new form to fill out. Yeah, very bureaucratically cumbersome.
Last year they totally streamlined the process where the intake worker entered all your information on their computer, and all I had to do was show a copy of a bill, your income, your ID and sign it "electronically" (you also received a copy of the completed form via email for your records), The whole procedure took about 15 - 20 minutes at most. and you wer told what your award was on the whne the process was comleted, no long wait to know if you were accepted.and what your award was. You also got a copy of the form for your records which included the award amount.
The other nice part, the meeting was held in my neighbourhood and I only had to walk a block instead of spending an hour or more on transit There are three low income/senior apartment buildings (including mine) which are in a one block radius of each other here in the area just north of downtown and it was held at the one across the street from me.
I have to thank whoever was the "squeaky wheel" on the city council.

Not quite. The PA sale runs into the DAZ+ anniversary sale. Then there is a short break of a week or two before the Holiday sale begins.
I had Premier for a short time, and didn't really care for it.
You can get some characters or content. But you can only keep them while you're a memberr?
So if I create a cast of characters to go along with Marlin Fingle, they will disappear when I let the Premier membership expire. Yikes.
The exclusive shapes ar tied to the membership, yes, but the free character bundle is a regular purchase that remains regardless.
You can get some exclusive scripts or DAZ Studio addons! I don't care about any of them.
You must use DAZ Connect (is that the right name?). Oh, but you need to Phone Home! I detest Connect. It is intrusive.
Connect is needed only for the exclusive shapes, and the plug-ins 9and other features) require logging in to your account every now and then, but don't require updating metadata. I am not sure what you mean about Connect's being intrusive.
I forget the other Premier benefits. But they don't appeal to me.
Now I finally realized that DAZ has this emphasis on New content. Some new content is fine.
But these sales make it feel like I'd be paying ransom to save some money on the products I really want.
My friends and neighbors love my work. But they don't have computers. I need to print out the silly cartoons I create.
The older content is more suited for printing. It uses less ink or toner (for laser color printers).
I am not following this at all - ink/toner use would be entirely dependent on the colour values across the image (darker needs more ink), it would not depend on the content's age in any way.
So here I am, with clear choices to make. I'll let the DAZ+ membership expire.
Richard, have you returned from Paris already?! Remember the catalympics?
The older content or characters have lower resolution and demand less computing power. (the 3delight content).
I can quickly render the old content using 3delight. I have a problem with the more complicated content that uses iRay.
My old nVidia card is deprecated. Which is a polite way of saying it will eventually be abandoned.
When it comes to printing, the lower resolution images require less ink or toner (for laser color printers).
But then I thought a bright cat like yourself already knew that. (wink wink).
When it comes to the Premier content. It's all so complicated. Too many variables.
In the past others have refused to deal with Connect. A few years ago there was a heated discussion on the subject. And I believe DAZ reversed course on their plans. I think new items were "connect-only" for awhile, then went back to using DIM?!
I really don't want anyone sniffing around my computer. I don't want to see little messages coming up while I try to make sense out of my graphic nonsense.
And I really don't care about most of the Premier Extras for DAZ Studio. You likely know I've been confused by the basic stuff for over 20 years.

It has run through into mid-October, or even later October - sometimes the PC Anniversary has been mostly pushed into November.

Sorry to hear. That certainly sorts out the priorities in life.
Hope it works out for you. All the best!

We have an Energy Assistance program.

ok, I forgot about the Daz+ sale. Taking a 5 year break will do that.
It depends if they're even is still a Daz+ sale any more.
They might rebrand it or do something different, like they did for June. If so, I'm curious to see what it is!
I had Premier for a short time, and didn't really care for it.
