    All this smoke:  Reminds me of life in Florida during the spring/summer when the vast empty fields of palmetto debris and dry tall grasses in the empty lowlands east & southeast of Orlando burn for days/weeks on end.  Nostalgic.indecision

    About a week ago,  I banged the toes of my left foot against an unmovable piece of furniture, causing further damage (I have hammertoes on that foot). I was able to treat that myself, still healing nicely.

    I woke up this morning about 9 a.m., I was taking my morning meds, my brother starts telling me that while I was asleep, the doctor's office where we went yesterday to get our bloodwork done had called and said that his salt level is spiking, and he was waiting for his daughter to come pick him up to go to the hospital. So...yeah.

    Then I just scraped the top layer of skin off my elbow on the only brick wall on the inside of the house. I'm grateful for triple antibiotic cream which I always have on hand. Or foot. Or elbow. 

    So I have  come to ask for your prayers, good thoughts, energy , whatever you can spare heart.

    I'm told Tommy is eating, talking and resting well this morning. We don't  drive, but his daughter and her husband take good care of us. Unfortunately, I would have to wheel around in a wheelchair and be more or less another stressor for my sweet little niece. She needs the rest and her husband helps out around our house so The Cats (2) and The Corgi are getting all the care that is a bit more than I can handle physically these days.

    Complaint: The bad air from the Cansdian wildfires has moved back over us and the air quality is now "very unhealthy" Definitely not good for my COPD.

    Oh no! What did you have to do for the poor baby? Cast? I assume pain meds. Poor kitty.

    non-complaint: Patchy clouds and beautiful lightning out my window as the last of the day fades. It was still 90 degrees with a dew point of 72 at 8 PM, so maybe this'll bring some relief....

    Thanks. We'll get more info from the vet once they've had more time to look at our kitten (from about now, up to 3 hours time). Apparently his claws were scuffed on 3 paws and not on the impact leg. There were signs he'd bumped his head too. Regards, Richard.

    Ack, Richard, Soft hugs for the kitty and lots of mental support for you and Tracy. My 3 paw, Simon had me up at 1:30am for water refill on his water bowl. He just jumped onto my pillows behind me to tell me he also hopes for a speedy recovery for your kitten.

    We've been warned he'll need an amputation (silly money level expensive) or surgery (even sillier money). However, until he passes water and bowels, they don't really know how he's reacting to the pain relief and so which may be the preferred option. With it being the weekend, he won't be dealt with until Monday - whichever choice goes ahead. We are inclined to give him the best chance of keeping 4 legs, after all, that's what cats come with. He may come home for nursing this afternoon, depending on his bowels, and then go to our local (non-emergency) vet on Monday. Oh, fun and games to be fitted around a bed bound MIL, plum and blackberry harvest and a daughter who is staying with her sister and guess who is the taxi... Regards, Richard.
