Hansmar: Your abstract is lovely; the landscape with spheres is like a robot sent to explore an unknown universe; the other version of the abstract really does resemble an operating table light (which I also don't expect to ever see in my life, I'm touching wood texture for good luck); I really liked the bluish tone, perhaps because it gives it an interdimensional feel.

Bunyip02: I wouldn't want to run into an insect like that.

Horo: Bryce's 5 trees turned out great; the terrain looks fantastic; the flowerpot looks like it came straight out of a decorating magazine; the landscape with the high-resolution terrain is very realistic.

ed3d: The UFO is cool, I like the simple background.

mermaid010: Both versions of the abstract are great, the new versions of the ones on pages 7, 13, and 18 are too; the field with the sun in the background looks peaceful and relaxing.

NGartplay: I'm sorry about what happened to you, I hope you can fix it soon (and that the punishment wasn't too severe).

Now I'm adding the last thing I did, which I forgot to post here:

After making the submarine, this scene immediately came to mind. It's a childhood memory, a personal indulgence I couldn't resist.

NGartplay - thank you. Sorry about your bad luck with the monitor.

Teobaldo - thank you. Your Sleeping Colossus looks very special and is very nicely presented.

Thank you all.  Hubby is taking me for a new one today...hopefully.  I still have a 21 inch monitor on my Windows 7 but it won't connet to the new computer.  I think that it's time to let the Windows 7 go.

Wonderful work on the rusty ship, Teobaldo.

NGartplay - I hope you get a new working computer soon.

The shapes are three Bryce trees, only the branches and twigs, with an adjusted material from Fifty Funky Shapes and Fifty Funky Metals. They stand on the ground plane with a bit of reflection. Ambient light and colours by the Rainbow3_LL HDRI and some light by the sun. Differently formed, coloured and connected balls.

    Thank you, Horo, mermaid010, Teobaldo.

Beautiful abstract, mermaid010 and very nice flower terrain.

Horo, that is a wonderful coastline. And good idea to make an abstract from tree-rocks.

Sorry to hear of the trouble NGartplay.

Must be a ship in the Aral lake (or any other dried up lake), Teobaldo, looks very good.

I made more abstracts, based on an earlier scene with a set of tapered columns as lenses. I modified the lights, rotation of the tapered columns, etc.

Horo, what a beautiful and interesting image created with the trees.  It doesn't look anything like trees.

Hansmar, you always make abstracts that are different and still beautiful.  It amazes me what you do.

Hansmar - thank you. Two very nice abstracts. The first one looks a bit like a building with windows and the second like racks with some electronic equipment.

    NGartplay - thank you.

The mirrored head is from Victoria 3 RR LE and the room a terrain. The torus and the four cylinder are from Bryce, everything with my own materials. Background and ambient light by an HDRI from Hyper Textures Base, additional light by 9 radials and the sun.

Teobaldo - thanks, beautiful model and very nice scene.

NGartplay - thanks, I hope you have your new monitor by now.

Horo - Wow beautifully presented Bryce trees, the Surreal Twins is magnificent.

Hansmar - thanks, beautiful variants of the Tapered Columns as lens.

NGartplay, Horo, mermaid010; thank you very much.

    Very great surreal image, Horo.

I found another abstract/sci fi render that I did not show yet (made February last year). The spacerunner is Genesis 3 with a space suit. There are elements from the space construction kit and the scene is put in a reflective cube with bulges to achieve the alienating view.

Wow Hansmar the space scene is awesome.

Another view of the Bush track by Shedder, I added a log and low bushes. Lighting from and Hdri from Hdri Captured Volumetric Skies. Bushes from the Vegetation product and the log a freebie.

The terrain is from Landscapes under Fantastic Skies with a material from Gritstone Hills combined with one from High Resolution Terrains 2. The ground plane has a material from Vegetation. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI from HDRI Enhanced Skies and the key light by the sun.

mermaid - thank you. The anaglyph looks great.

The camera is within a cube with a special material (material for abstracts in a cube) by David Brinnen. No additional objects. Light and colour by the TunnelLit_SC HDRI (unpublished) and the sun. Rendered in the 360° panorama projection.

    Thanks Horo, superb abstract.

Thank you mermaid  This abstract is a "cheap" work: a cube and an HDRI, render time Premium 16 rays per pixel and max ray depth 10: 5 minutes.

  • NGartplayNGartplay Posts: 3,404

Nice southwestern USA landscape, Horo.  The abstract is like a jeweled necklace, beautiful.

mermaid, your scene pops off of the page.  The background is especially delightful.

Thanks Horo, I can relate to the "cheap" work as this abstract is also the camera within the cube, using David's material and an Hdri from Hyper Texture Base, regular render, MRD 4. It was a quick render but I don't remember how long it took. But this time I did some postwork to bring out the colors.

    Thanks NGartplay

Three terrains from High Resolution Terrains 1, the front one inverted, all with a material from the same set. The water is a 2D-Face with my water material. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI from HDRI Enhanced Skies and the key light by the sun.
