I just discovered something new. I am not sure if people already knew.

The 2.99 error is related to an account and nothing else.

For example, I get the 9.95 price right now. If i log out or use a different browser where I am not logged in, I get the discounted 2.99 price. As soon as I log back in, I get the full 9.95 price again.

I think that the new: * Each offer usable once per day. New Release must be priced over $1. Items must be in cart simultaneously for discount to apply. used to be once per customer, ever.

I'm guessing, whoever made a purchase whenn the coding for the shop sales was like that, got a flag or something linked to their account, that disables them for getting the 2.99 again.

This should seriously not be such a hard problem to fix. Just find an account with the problem, check out the DB queries and see where the fault lies.

I'll try to open up a ticket too, however much good that does.

I seem to recall that these sale threads first started out as primarily discussion (both positive and critical) threads about ongoing sales, and the being used to keep track part came later - seems to me there should be room for both.

Maybe in the same thread, maybe not (although policing that would be hard 'sale not working? no that's the other sales thread' ad nauseam rinse and repeat).

We saw that the thread was becoming useful in identifying problems. Remember, that as mods, we have to read all of the forums, which at times becomes a daunting feat. We have always only asked if we could get people to report here in order to help us help you. We have really appreciated that many people have done so. Because this is a public thread started by a forum member, we can only ever ask things and when you guys graciously allow and encourage it, we are grateful.

What's a Time/Day stamp and how do you make such stamps?

Do a full screen grab with the windows clock in the corner if you are using a suitable computer. Alternative possiblility would be to submit during the sale so that your ticket dates it appropriately. Not sure if that would work, but it is an idea.

Just to clarify what is Timestamp is. Every file on your computer has it as a digital signature (metadata). If you right click on file (let say *.jpg which you saved with print screen) and then Properties you will se info when that file is Created, Modified and last time Accessed. (Windows OS)

Graphics file formats usually have one more layer of metadata called EXIF which can hold (beside creation/modify.. data) your GPS location (if available), software used for creation etc.

So no need to anything special. Time stamp is already contained in file you sending.

This is something others actually noted a while back and we have included those data points for Daz. Thank you for sending a ticket as well. Tickets, when I worked CS some 30 years ago, always had more weight because someone took the time to document the issue or provide feedback. I'm sure the same holds true today.

Add me to the $2.99 sale broken list.

The fine print says 'offer usable once per day', so if I had to guess, it's the variable associated with this 'once per day' thing that is not getting reset for whatever reason.

That's just a theory on my part.

Not sure when I last added '$2.99' items to my cart.  The last few days the sale hasn't really interested me, as I'm mostly down to 'well if it's a really good deal' stuff in my wishlist for the older stuff.  Today piqued my interest due to the larger batch of items to choose from, but I'll probably just pass on those until another sale with similar discounts pops up.  Kinda over budget already this month.  I may try one more time later today, in case the Daz software team manages to fix it...

Hopefully we get a similar sale down the road, once this issue is fixed.

True, and I more than appreciate the signalling function of the thread. At the same time, that use means no real room for chatter/renders.

And for what it's worth, I bought single items for 2.99 on two different days early in the sale, and have been seeing 9.95 prices only since then.

Hence the reason for "If possible, could you...". It's up to the forum members to decide if it is more important to make sure the problems are seen and addressed in some fashion or post several renders in a row. smiley

  • We do apologize to all of you experiencing this issue. We have tried to troubleshoot it but it is proving to be difficult. As you can see from my screenshot above, for some (like me) it seems to be working and for some it isn't and at the moment we are trying as best we can to sort out why it is happening. We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work towards resolving the issue heart

The problems have been seen for a week or more how many more times do people need to tell you that its not working and that it's broken in a very diverse manner. If you want a thread with just carts and statments then start a thread and sticky it but please trying to silence people so that you get nothing but carts just so that the moderators can report to Daz to try and fix the problem isn't reinstating any trust, at least not with me.

If possible, we'd like the thread to be used more for reporting problems. This thread has been useful to not have a ton of threads and possibly miss problems. But the same goes for a lot of discussion going on only because it's easier to miss the actual problems. And in the end, that's what we'd all like is to get any problems resolved.

We understand there have been frustrations. Reporting those problems allows to keep Daz informed and hopefully get them addressed in a timely manner. This has been a particularly ardent, but intermittent, inconsistent problem with the 2.99 sale. We know you want answers and responses, but they are really addressed best with the ticket system. It logs the problem and keeps a record. It also shows them how many people are involved. Remember that these forums are peer-to-peer and there is only so much the mods can do and little your fellow forum members can do to resolve the issues. If you need to comment or quesiton, the ticket system takes your words directly to Daz.

In the meantime, we will facilitate with the limited means we have and hope, along with you, that we find blissful ends to issues encountered. We'd all like a Happy New Year.

i was afraid to bother them since they havent asnwered my tickets for a week, but i guess they can still handle more tickets.

I bought one of the Countdown items on Sunday and the offer was still working yesterday - but it's broken today. There have been various plausible sounding thoughts about the root of the issue but none of them seems to hold up on examination, which is what makes the issue so hard to resolve.

We post here because we want action quickly. We know a ticket won't be seen for days. Cris, At least you report them in a more direct manner than we ever can.

Right, and those are the kind of things we're able to assist with, so no problem on that. :) We want to know where the problems are, for sure. Thanks.

Are you a volunteer mod or an actual Daz staff member?  I appreciate the apology but I would like it from an actual Daz higher up, preferably the owner. The mods I know are doing all they can, but I would like to see a statement from the actual heads of Daz.

  • 2.99 sale fail here. I think it has worked maybe 1 time for me on the first day it was up, since the gig has been running. Always with the insta jump to 9.95 upon adding anything tagged to that list to my cart. Though there may have been a day or two when it decided to appear to work but everything I wanted was no longer in the list though it had been the day prior when not working.

Today slightly different, along with the once per day change in verbage.

I can add 2.99 items to cart and they price at 2.99... but as soon as I add >5, or a new release. boom they all go 9.95, and also no -20% of course.

Do you remember if you have bought anything the day prior to the day where the deals were not working?

Or the other way around, if by any chance, you didn't buy anything prior to the day when the deal was working?

  • I got something every day I think. And each day dropped a 2.99 thing in the cart to see if it was fixed or not. And it wasn't, so I started to assume it was a one time use ever sale gig. Though I still checked in case it was a bug or sometimes they give you a new one time only lol.

  • But yeah its been kind of an annoying tease...

Should some of the 65% select artist discount also be further reduced by having a new release in the cart? Four out of five of them are in the All catalogue 40% - 50% off with a new release section.

This is not working, still. Other PAs in the 'All Artists' section --and not in the 65% category-- are getting their full set of discounts.

Last day of sale and still not working for me.

  • The "$2.99" sale is not working for me either.  I have put off getting some items now for days since it has not been working, so do I buy the items and put in a ticket for the difference - which is a substantial amount - and hope that there won't be any problems?  From reading the other posts it sounds like this problem is not going to be fixed any time soon and I do believe that today might be the last day to pick up the last items I have been waiting to purchase.  Thanks.

Well, 50% is less than 65% so you are better off than you would be if they were in the 40 alone/50 with new group. However it is potentially confusing so we will flag it up.

All we can suggest is submitting a support tcket, whle the offer is meant to be active, showing your cart.

A weird kind of non sale bug, but seems worth saying about.

I got a gift card, and was sent the "person has sent you a gift card for use at DAZ 3D and it is now ready to be used for purchases" email. The attached code didn't work and just said "wrong code".

Went back to the email and had been sent a second gift card code email which arrived a minute later. The second code did work. I've never had that with gift cards before.

Yep that problem has been around for years.

This does happen fairly often, though not recently for me.

  • I put a load of stuff in my basket, including a single "$2.99" item - which appeared at $9.99, and $9.99 in the basket.  I removed it again, and paid for the rest of the order.  After the transaction was complete I had another look, and added the "$2.99" thing to my basket again - this time it displayed the $2.99 price, even though it was the only thing in the basket.  So I bought it.

The five or fewer items on their own offer is separate from the as many items as you like with a new rlease offer, quite a few of the poblems reported have been one failing while the other works.

Just had the Owned & New icons again on PIX Merana. No idea if it's related, but it's still very odd, and this sale is the first time I saw that "Owned" icon on that page. No idea if the New icon ever bugged like that before, I never really paid attention to that, before I often have new stuff in my cart. But that red icon is definitely more obvious. (could this point to an if(x=y) statement instead of an if(x==y) statement somewhere?)
