I believe it's this month's non-skimp-wear release. :)
LOL... You may be right about that.

I believe they had at least 4-5 days total on last year's PA sale with all the PAs, two of which coincided with the middle of the sale I think. I could be wrong though, because last year had multiple sales with all PAs... even March Madness IIRC?
Indeed, March Madness, PA Sale, and Black Friday are the only times when the whole site regularly goes on sale, but I am sure there are a few adhoc days scattered through the year when it also happens.
What I do is the whole outfit in one category (with subcategories for props and materials), and just the props (and materials for the props) in the weapons category. I like to make sure everything is categorized, but it doesn't have to be -- I seldom use nail colors and makeup, so in past iterations I didn't categorize them with the figure but in a separate seldom-used category.
There is nothing preventing you from adding a folder to multiple different categories.
I have props like Weapons categorized under the clothes they belong to, which are categorized with the character the outfit belongs to... for example...
"M4\Urban Warrior\Urban Warrior Sword"...
And then I'll categorize it under a Props favorites, too.
"Props\Weapons\Urban Warrior Sword".
That is the beauty of this... you can categorize multiple different ways if you want, or just one way... the folders all remain in the same place - you're just adding pointers to them in ways that work logically for you.
That way, if a prop belongs to something, like an outfit, that belongs to a particular character, you can have it there...
But if it will also work fine with other characters and situations, you can have it categorized there too, so you don't "miss" it when you're looking for, "I need a sword for my G3 Male character for this render..."

Is the thread, Diva pointed me to it.
I think the file you make would be re-imported using this advice:
You can port them, regardless of OS, just use "Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import Metadata". Your User Data shows up at the top of the list of metadata you can import (it's saved in a plain-text file in the Runtime:Support folder of your first DS-format content folder, just like the metadata that comes in a product zip). It even works if your content folder is in a different drive or path, as the plain-text files you get by Exporting User Data has relative paths.

Trying it out now.
PDS...
Just reimported all meta-data per the instructions provided above by FixMyPCMike... it worked.
You have to export your user data to a file, UserData_1.dsx which will be stored in your default support directory (instructions on where to locate this are in the linked thread above.)
Then copy it to your target machine, into the directory that holds your support directory there. Then follow the instructions to reimport metadata, and make sure user metadata is selected, then let it run.
You're welcome! I'm glad I could help. :)
And becoming a PA would be AMAZING! lol :D
That's what I need. Thanks!
Thanks for confirming this. I'm much more enthusiastic about categorizing everything now that I can set it up in a way that makes sense to me and I can export to my other computers. I appreciate all the effort you went through!
I owe it all to Diva. I had seen a tutorial on doing this, but something about the way she explained using it here made it all click - and I decided it was long overdue. After 3 days, I'd say I have about 70% of my content categorized using her method. The stuff that isn't categorized is mostly smart content, G2 and G3 stuff that I'm not in as big of a hurry. In the meantime, I feel like I'll be far more likely to use a lot of the older stuff with no meta data and that when I do, I'll spend more time rendering and less searching around in the Poser content section trying to find where everything is...
"So, the hair is a figure and the material is a pose? Or is the hair a pose and the material is a a material? The hair is named "hairname", but all the materials are simply named "01-brown", "02-Blonde" and the thumbnail just shows strands of hair, not the hairstyle? Awesome!
Nope... now I have a category for the hair, and the mats are right below it... or the clothes... or heck, the character...
ROFL! You made me choke on my popcorn! lol
Heh. Seriously... I've seen people try to justify how it is that way because of legacy Poser support issues. There may have been a reason why it worked that way at some point in the past on Poser - but certainly it is something that could be automated in providing a better solution in DAZ Studio, today. But... until that happens - this is better than the default solution... which is like an easter egg hunt trying to match content and materials to supported models. ;)
OH I forgot about the blink sales last year, when they went "PAs from (Letter) to (Another Letter)" :D
Unfortunately no - I got that plugin during a sale and like the added options for DS dynamic clothes it gives me.
But it is listed as a requirement: Required Products: Dynamic Clothing Control
Hmm. It seems the theme for the 15th is... 58 pairs of shoes.
Oh? Well, that is embarrassing, now what will I do with all that surplus of righteous indignation? Time to get into politics, I guess.
Anyway, thank you for your confirmation, now to see if I can figure VWD's settings for simulating volumes.
The pillows are nice ...
*Sigh* Yes. Yes, they are...
Agreed. I don't know why it was confusing to me before, but as soon as Diva described her method, the lightbulb went on. Like some others here, I have been creating a separate hierarchy of the product promo images so I could keep track visually of what I have, but then I would end up wasting a lot of time rooting around in Daz trying to locate stuff, particularly items that follow the Poser hierarchy. Now, I'm recategorizing using the same hierarchy as my visual structure so I'll be able to easily browse my entire content library and seamlessly locate and use the corresponding products in Daz. Very much looking forward to this, though I feel the weight of the collective eye-rolling of the veterans here, lol.
Well, it looks like it might be a 'Night Out' from buiying for me; but at least I am really happy to see some nice shaders for our Poser friends who sometimes feel left out.
Let 'em roll. Doesn't matter what the hobby is... everyone starts out knowing nothing except that they're interested and knowing more, and some veterans seem to exist just to make noobs feel awkward and disincluded. I don't see a lot of that here though, to be honest. Everyone seems very helpful. I've had ONE person give me a terse, "RTFM, you moron," kind of answer. Everyone else has been very patient with my silly questions. :)

... and this would be another.
Oh, I meant that more in the humorous vein...everyone I've interacted with in the forums and PMs has been quite friendly and patient with all my n00b questions. Frankly, I'd LOVE to RTFM...if there were one. I would pay good money for a definitive guide that not only explained what all the various bells and whistles did, but how and why you'd want to adjust them to achieve particular results.
Anyway, as far as this PA sale goes, it's been a bit sedate, but I'm hoping that will change soon with some of the teased "coming soon" products like LAMH 2.0 and earth and ocean products by PA_ThePhilosopher, maybe Lilith7, Monique7, and I know that Mec4D has been working on some stuff, but no idea when those will be out.
In today's sale, DT's Ana looks lovely, but it sure seems as though there's little to differentiate her from many of the PA's other characters (not really a bash on DT as many PAs have an identifiable look to their characters). I swear I think the most recent half dozen characters share 1-2 skins based on the promos. Does anyone have any of the recent characters who can comment on this? I'd hate to pick up several through the sale and discover identical skins with little else to differentiate the character shapes. If I'm going to add a couple, I'd like them to offer something unique.
I agree that Digital Touch's character are very similar way beyond "artist style". I actually like them but I allready have 5 of them, so I m skipping them now...
Regarding Missing PAs: I Yesterday realized that I urgently need one of Simon WM's products, so I hope he is going to be festured soon or at least his backlog in one of the catchup sales.
Oh boy, saving money today I guess....
AprilYSH, you're so great~ hair for both females and ..males?! And such pretty, nicely organised product lists, and ... yeah there really wasn't much point to this post other than to admire April's consistent hairing.
Also, that i13 pose collection actually has me really interested with its themes and pose naming and things. While i13 makes many amazing things and I have bought many of them, that one stuck out particularly to me as being more than another random adjective supermodel collection.
Yeah, both AprilYSH and i13 are awesome PAs! I have a pose set by i13 that is by far my favorite set. And I've been a real admirer of AprilYSH's products since discovering her hair! :)
I'm with you on that. I know that many people have been asking for more day-to-day style poses, and i13 has certainly done a brilliant job stepping in to fill that void, but for me, I really appreciate the dramatic, high energy poses like her new Fierce Fantasy poses. Just seeing them immediately conjures up stories in my mind and gives me creative inspiration. It's like working with a talented model during a photo shoot; oftentimes, a pose and/or facial expression can trigger a flood of new ideas.
And speaking of facial expressions, the Xtreme Expressions pack today looks great for some fierce renders and I'm hoping the added morphs can be used with other expression packs to eliminate that Botox look caused by the limitations in facial posing available to us lay-people, lol.
