There appears to be a bug in the current release of DS6 where if you mark one of the figure's bones as unselectable in the scene tab (such as the 'Head' bone in the screenshot below), it can still be selected in the viewport despite being marked as unselectable.

(I also tested the same figure in DS 4.24, it works as it should there. The 'Head' bone is not selectable in the viewport.)

Confirmed. Please submit a bug report.

Heh I know, I was being glib. ^_^

Seriously though, it's been over a month, come on guys.

  • With just the standard smooth shading preview in the viewport, morphs arent smooth - very laggy  - I have a 5080, its as if iray is cranked all the way up - is this the same for everyone or are there any tips to make this smoother, its a 1 person scene with minimal bacground objects.  Same scene is perfectly workable in DS4

Please describe what you are trying, as it appears to work for me.

Merci de décrire ce que vous essayez, car cela semble fonctionner pour moi.

Je veux seulement enregistrer la main droite. La console m’indique que la pose a été appliquée, mais rien ne se passe.

Are there other boxes to check further up to get only a partial hand pose ?

Excuse me, I don't speak English.

Okay, thanks. What is the "Pose Controls" tab for, then?

I was relying on it, hoping it would act as a shortcut for bone selection...

Assuming you mean the "Posing" panel, like the Camera and Lights panels, they are essentially just filters of the parameters tab.

A Pose Control property is a slider that can move multiple Bones all together, like a Parent controller, e.g. a Grasp pose control to move fingers, an expressional pose control to move facial parts.

If you just want to save a partial pose with a Bone, select that Bone under the figure node in the Pose Preset Save Options dialogue rather than under Pose Controls node ~~

Okay, thanks a lot for the help.

That's my mistake, Pose Control works fine.

    No problem, glad it works.

  • Is Daz considering Linux compatibility for Studio 6 or later??

Good afternoon, could you tell me what the problem is? I launch Daz6 (5070 Ti) — just the start screen, nothing more. Moving the mouse, Ctrl+Alt+LMB works fine. But if I scroll forward a few times and then back, everything starts to lag as if I had a huge scene loaded. I've never encountered this before — everything used to work fine with this version! Pressing View: Reset (LMB/RMB) helps, but only for a few seconds.

Please help, it's very hard to work like this!

    Thank you!

Without further information it's hard to tell -- but then again this is essentially beta software. What you're describing sounds like a memory leak, probably in the video card driver. Have you updated your video card driver recently? You may need to update it, or potentially roll it back if you did update it.

If you are using the NVIDIA Studio Driver version 610.62 then I believe sidcarton1587 is correct. Since I installed this driver I have been having trouble with DAZ and Renpy games similar to the problem you describe. I posted a question in the 'Technical Help{nuts & bolts)' forum asking which NVIDIA driver version is recommended for DAZ and when I receive an answer I plan to roll back to it. Unfortunately when I updated the driver the Nvidia app deleted the old version so I don't know what one I was using before the update.

    REQUIRES:

    • NVIDIA Driver 576.57 (R575) on Windows
      • NOTE: 576.80 is the first Studio Driver (SD) after the minimum

    That was in December 2025.

Personally I would go 2 versions back from the current release version, which is 610.74 (610.62 for the Studio driver).

Thank you for the driver information, I haven't received a response to my question posted in the "Technical Help(nuts&bolts" forum yet. I was able to find the 576.80 studio driver (June 2025) and I also have 596.36 studio driver (April 2026) which is 2 version before the 610.62 studio driver. I can install either one and I'm curious why you'd install 596.36 instead of 576.80. Dealing with frequent driver updates is new to me because this is the first time I've bought a new PC with up to date components. I used to always build my own PCs with 1 or 2 year old parts to save money and drivers for older components are usually stable. Thanks again!

No specific reason, purely a personal choice. I may update to the latest to see if it breaks anything.

In "Texture" and "Universal" shaded modes, I get a little bit of lag like that. It's not as smooth as it was in 4.24 and earlier versions. In Iray the lag is so bad it's unworkable. Been bugging them for over a month about this and still nothing. 4080 on my end.

Yes, I have exactly 610.62, just the game driver. I'll try reinstalling, thanks.

Just FYI, I followed advice from DoctorJellybean and rolled back to NVIDIA Studio Driver 596.36 a few hours ago and so far I've had no problems. Perhaps that will work for you too. Good luck!

I just noticed I can't load "Generation 4" characters in DAZ Studio 6. (Kids 4, Freak 4, etc.)

They will load in DAZ Studio 4.24.

Is this a new development? If so, why?

This threw me off for a few hours. I'm trying to gear up to make some art for my book of Children's Poetry.

DS 6.x doesn support DSB scripts anymore (DSB scripts are used for loading genration 4 figures...). You can go to the folder where the figures locate, rename or delete DSB scripts. Then they can be loaded in DS6 but PowerLoader won't work anyway ~~

So if you still want to use Generation 4 figures, just use them in DS 4.23 ... as you have no way to render 3Delight materials in DS6 after all ~~

As far as I know https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-3delight-to-iray-converter may work in DS6 at some point (Vendor depending) and does work in DS4.x and then converted figures/assets work in DS6

    Thanks for the info.

However I think it's time to officially close the chapter on content created before Genesis.

In the meantime I'm having trouble figuring which "current" content is suitable to represent girls of ages 8 and 10.

My book was originally written for girls in a previous relationship where I once became an Instant Father and Grandfather,
