"Huh, I really like the new Neftis hair: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-colette-cute-horns-hairstyle-for-genesis-9. But I wonder whether it would be possible to get rid of or hide those horns. Don't know much about dForce hair, but I suppose I can't edit it with the Geometry Editor. Does anyone know what to do about it? Could I kinda squash them in a dForce sim or something like that?"

I dont know how she has them set up, but if they have their own surface, you could change the line start and end width to 0 and that will shut them off or If they are a seperate piece, you can just delete them from the scene.

Thank you! Separate pieces would of course be the easiest solution, but the hair doesn't really look like this. I'll definitely try the surface trick if it's possible. -  I'll get it anyway for sure, it's so pretty; worst case I'll hide the horns by a hat or something.

If someone picks this up today in time to report back, I'd be curious about the horns also. I'm primarily buying guy hairs right now, so I overlooked this initially. Like others, I think this is cute but I'm not picturing anyone with hairstyles with horns in my current story WIPs.

Hi Paula, sorry I didn't see your post in time, but at least now I've gotten round to have a first look at the hair, and it might still ne helpful to you. As of now, I'm not seeing any way of getting rid of those pesky horns. There's no special group that I can see, they're in a group called 'layer 1' which also contains lots of other hair. I'm basically gonna hide them with a hat or something I think.

One more thing, the hair isn't all that well behaved, at least not on my laptop, the viewport became very laggy when I put it in the scene. I'm cooking a render right now to put in 'Render your buys' to see how it actually looks.

Feng for the win .. FN Charles HD for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D
I really appreciate male characters, especially when they have character.

I don't purchase that many male characters but I positively agree with daveso. Feng's Charles is a wonderful character, well leathered in time, with lots of character possibilities.

    Concur on Charles!

A more stylised picking today, but Samael looks interesting for those fond of more toonish renders: https://www.daz3d.com/pn-samael-for-genesis-9

Please keep the men coming, artists. Despite a promising start to G9, my library is 2 to 1 in favour of the ladies, and too many of the men I do have are overly fond of the gym!

I have to agree about Charles. The promo image below is just.. stunning.

It could be a slightly post processed portrait of a successful [gentle?]man.

I didn't realise I wanted this... but now that I see it I totally want it! laugh

The one thing that would make this even better: if the tool would allow you to write directly on IRAY decals. No idea if that's possible from a technical perspective. I'm just your typical clueless-yet-ever-demanding customer.

While I am putting this on my wishlist, https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-dale-western-outfit-for-genesis-9-and-8-female I need to point out that I think I remember having a near version of it in the 1950s as a little girl. My brother and I both had small pox at the same time and my father bought a full Dale Evans and Roy Rodgers outfits for us. He had to leave them at the door for Mom to pick up and bring in. He had never had the virus as a kid and it was not safe for adult men to get. Stayed with his folks across the street. I am going to get the sign generator, https://www.daz3d.com/ultrascenery-2--marinas-and-moorings, and https://www.daz3d.com/lowpi-toolbox-vol-1. Always try to keep up collections up to date, especially when they are great.

Got to give you credit for that image. It's stunning. Wish I could do one tenth as well with my best. Even though I can't, I can recognise a superb image when I see it.

Your images are amazing! Maybe you'll want to think about doing a tutorial for selling here on DAZ?

No, wait - do the VDB ones only work for animations? I was just throwing them in my cart!

I don't see why you couldn't render one frame

I don't own many VDB files or use them in DAZ studio but they are a series and you can just load one

I really like AP's Citadel Stairway. It reminds me of southern mountain region in Skyrim.

Yeah, I don't do animations but one pack blurb or someone showed how using them could give you a unique expression or pose, especially for sports. So I have bought some animation packs. Why not fireworks?

Okay, question then: it lists VDB Essentials - Prep and Animate as a requirement for the product to work... is that just if you want to animate? Could you get away with just buying the fireworks themselves if you only want static props?

(I've never looked at all at the animation stuff, as it's not something I'm interested in, so I'll admit my ignorance on the subject is near-complete.)

Heh... the promo shots reminded me of a spot I used to farm drops in Lord of the Rings Online. :)

I'd also like to know that, don't want that other pack - my little laptop isn't really up to VDB animations I think. If anyone figures it out, it'd be cool to know!

I think anybody who uses LowPi will find the new Toolbox Vol 1 very useful. I love it. I can change clothing on selected LowPi characters without having to regenerate the crowd. I can change gender of selected LowPi characters without having to rebuild the crowd. I can change their skin colors and remove props without regenerating the crowd. I can move LowPis in the crowd to a new location and even then perform these modification actions on them. You can even position LowPis manually (naked) and then dress them up afterwards, without even having to build a crowd. With the Toolbox, you can select a WearKit or Set to randomly apply the clothing and hair without having to manually select every piece of clothing or hair for every single character you choose to dress up.

Oooo.... I haven't gotten to crowds yet, but I do have a lot of the LowPis on my WL. Definitely adding this to it as I'm all for anything that makes things more versitile and less tedious. Thank you for the review.

I purchased VDB - Animate Wind for static images. I did not notice the required base product(my fault) and it would not work without it(objects loaded in the scene as gray blocks). I would assume the same problem would occur with the fireworks.

Well nuts... I don't think I'd get enough use out of the fireworks to justify buying both. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

I can confirm you do need the required product:

Also, the fireworks product is rather large, around 5 gigs. The base product is also nearly as large.

Ouch. Hard no, then... thanks for the confirmation, though. Definitely saved me some frustration.

Oh my, have no space for that at all unfortunately ... Thanks for all the info!
