Frontier Grace Outfit and Props for Genesis 9

Wow. Looks great & (imo) should have been acquired by Daz to be part of a Western-themed bundle. Been a while since the last, hasn't it?

Unfortunately Ansiko is strictly "wishlist until deep discount" since turning off interactive licenses, but someday it'll make a nice addition to the "historical fantasy closet".

I do like The Magical Land Bundle, even though it's price makes it inaccessible. It's.. not cute (I hate cute), inventive and engaging. I really like the town, but feel some effort should have been made to vegetate the hillside behind using longer grasses and trees. The city has a different feeling altogether, along with the train it feels vaguely like cleaned up Steam-Punk. Lots of ways to play with the set. Regards, Richard.

I get the distinct impression that it's the land of Oz.

I'm with y'all, @doubledeviant and @richardandtracy, both on the historical dress and the fantasy land set. The fantasy land, I don't love all of it, but the towers thingy went on my WL, and the little village with the tulips and the funny houses is absolutely gorgeous I think. The mixture is a bit weird, but since everything is modular, I'll just throw out the train station and such. I'm actually willing to buy both today, have 7 tokens left. But maaaaan, the prices sure have spiked ...

I was happy to see the https://www.daz3d.com/frontier-grace-outfit-and-props-for-genesis-9 outfit in my DAZ newsletter but it wasn't until I had a chance to look in detail at the promos and realized there was an actual reproduction of the prairie schooner included that I was blown away. The outfit is excellent and what we have been begging for, for years. Thank you. That wagon, well, the cherry on top. I filled out the rest of my cart with a mixture of Chris Cox's historical outfits and a Propschick hair I missed earlier this week.

The Daz+ sale is depressing as ever this June, but there's some good stuff in the debut deals. In agreement with others, I am of course referring to the XI bundle https://www.daz3d.com/xi-magical-land-bundle and  “Frontier Grace Outfit and Props” https://www.daz3d.com/frontier-grace-outfit-and-props-for-genesis-9 With the latter, the promos give the impression that the German “historical” novel series “Die Wanderhure” should be transported to the 19th century, but the outfits look great.

Yeah, it's really a quite fantstic do-up of the settings from the Wicked movie that came out last fall. Of course, anything that recognizable means other applications can be limited, but I'm in love with the movie/musical anyway, so I'll likely pick it up at some point and drop my characters in it just for funsies.  (Which is not something I do often.)

(Now, if someone would make the costumes....)

Oh no, I didn't see the movie and so didn't recognize this at all! I hate when that happens! The PA should attach a note or something. But I guess if I only use the tulip fields and solitary buildings from the 'town' set, I should be good, right? Not too obviously referencing the movie?

I've not seen the film either, so it doesn't trigger anything for me either. Ahh well.

    Richard

I hadn't seen the movie either, wish PAs would stop doing this, editorial license exists for a reason

    just searched and watched video

I have bought sets knowing they were heavily inspired by something but knowing is the important thing here

Okay, it's definitely inspired by this, but the houses actually look quite different I reckon - they have much more of a tree-y feel to them, as if grown out of giant roots. And the tulips, again, are generic. So I guess it's fine to use. But like Wendy said, we should just be told these things beforehand.

I'll admit I only saw it the once (grown up movie screen time hard to come by) and those definitely aren't the settings that get the most air time, so my memory is likely going more on vibe than anything else. It would make sense that the PA shifted things enough to cover their butt. (The giant effigy in the middle of town is a dead giveaway though.)

Definitely recommend the movie, though. It deserved the hype. I don't like Oz stuff generally, but this is its own thing, and it's really beautifully done. (I know there was a lot of commentary/criticism that it wasn't scene-by-scene faithful to the musical, but... well, yeah. It's a different medium, with different opportunities to expand on/play with the story and world. I think it kept the spirit of the thing.)

Genesis 9 - if I see something that is unisex and I'm on the fence about whether I want to buy it, it becomes a definite "no" when the promo images don't feature a male character.

Although in this new product: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-vo-suzu-knicker-for-genesis-9-feminine, the product title implies it is for females, but more promos feature males than females.

That's very wierd showing it on a male. In half a pace they'd be exposing themselves, and it'd be mighty uncomfortable.

Lots of great stuff released today! Ava 9 is okay--not wild about her shape, so I'll save my Premier coupon for the end of the month again--but the WINGS! The Aello wings are an instant buy for me! I've wanted grafted arm wings forever, and now... Yay! Arki is amazing! I have the Avija wings, which are the ones I've been painstakingly merging with my character's arms for years now. Time to upgrade him to G9! laugh

I like the outfit shown in the pub poses a lot better than the one that comes with the pub bundle.

Maybe those aren't males. Maybe they are just base genderless G9. There are no genitals or bulges to indicate maleness.

I'm having some trouble with other sites as well, so might be a more global thing? I hope my wishlist remains, I've got some good stuff in there.

Those are not the knickers I remember!

I don't think it would stay in place very well on the ladies either; it doesn't work with the body shape, and it looks to me like it'd slide about or get wedged in places.

I do like CB's characters. I always find their angular faces very pleasant to look upon. However, after CB Blue, Guila, Bexley & Lores, I honestly can't justify another angular beauty, much as I'd like to. CB Suki is as lovely as the others. But not strikingly different, so will have to stay in my 'Yes, but..' list.

    Regards,

    Richard

I'm starting to really like Chris Cox's stuff (store here: https://www.daz3d.com/chris-cox#filtered=1 ). They include so many morphs, and the garments themselves are usually halfway 'decent', so you can basically play out any kind of idea with them - sexy or everyday, modern or more vintagey. And they add props with really useful morphs, like the beach bag in the set of today (https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-summer-flow-outfit-for-genesis-9-and-genesis-8-female ) which looks properly squished against the hip when wearing etc. Went back through their catalogue and saw that most sets are useful like that. So shout-out to them!

And if like me you are using G8, they provide those as well :)

Yes, I so much appreciate it, too, when vendors do that. I use both G9 and G8, and conversion is always hit or miss. So it's really nice to have that option.

Last week I bought three of Chris Cox's outfits and tried out one, https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-50s-daisy-outfit-for-genesis-9-and-8-female on Mira 9 HD. I want to point out the shoes that come with the outfits. A great deal of details are there and they do expand for the infamous big toes that stick out. I love the necklace and earrings, but only added a ring as her hands looked naked. I did have a little issue with her right hand, but was tired and gave up as it wanted to dig in. But I have had skirts that catch on body parts or chairs.

I expect I will buy it anyway, but does anyone have a render of https://www.daz3d.com/gf-dforce-white-angel-dress-for-genesis-9-feminine on an adult female shape?
