Well, just remember, glamour and lingere photography has been and still is a very essential part of the photography arena. Think about it...how many here have ever read magazines and other periodicals that portray the female in an attractive way with lingere and glamour. There is nothing wrong with that as far as I see it as long as it does not degrade the female or portray an attitude that is not desirable. I equate my modeling with photography mostly because I am a past photographer and have delved into the glamour and lingere studies. I believe that everyone should have their own opinion on these issues and futhermore be able to decide just what type of clothing that they would like for their models. I truely believe that there will be plenty of clothing for all of these newer models on either side of the fence; be-it conventional and attractive clothing as well as the more liberal type-skimpwear as you call it. I will be interested in either. I can make my models in a very atrractive manner in either direction. Also, about the very young looking models. There are plenty of morphs available that can change her to a different shape or age, so why not make your model to the age and shape that you desire? I really think that all is well with DAZ and all of the PAs and I congratulate them all for what they have created for us to utilize to make our vey own special person or persons in the 3D world. I, too, have many items in my wishlist for the older generations of which I will get to in time. I am happy that I can use old and new models and hope that in time there will be some conversions available to make the backwards compatibles. Anyhow, I appreciate all of the dialog here and everyone has a point..it is a healthy conversation.

I am sorry, I just had to post this...
...well creating a character of a younger age isn't as simple as scaling down an adult to a preteen or child. There are different proportional relationships between the various zones of the body along with different stances compared to a full adult.
Back in the Gen 4 days (a couple years before K4 was released) several of us embarked on a project to develop child and young teen characters out of the adult V4/M4 models as there were none available for Gen 4 at the time. It took me several months of painstaking experimentation as well as trial and error, studying growth charts and how the human body develops over the years, morphing, scaling of individual bones, relying on what character morphs that were available at the time which had slighter, more petite physiques (most by Thorne & Sarsa, particularly their Tommi and one of the fey characters) to create a viable child character of around 8 years old (see attached below).
Of course this introduced a whole new issue, what clothing to use as for V4, all clothing content was designed to work with the adult physique (in particular breasts) so when fitted to either a flat chested child or very small breasted teen, the clothing mesh would distort, often badly. Added to this was the fact a good amount of V4 clothing content would be "inappropriate" for a child or young teen to wear. Keep in mind this was the day when you needed to use a third party conversion tool even to fit clothing between figures even in the same gender. Since the character was still technically V4, any of the Mil Child, Preteen, and Teen clothing would be converted to accommodate the adult moprhs and shape and thus useless..
Shortly before the Gen 4 was replaced by Genesis, Stephanie 4 was released along with the Natural Petite Morphs kit which finally allowed for dialing bust size down to flat without any distortion of the chest mesh. While this was a major help, clothing content was still a struggle as it still often did not accommodate the smaller bust sizes afforded by the morphs so again there would be distortion of the mesh and/or textures.
Genesis made it a quite a bit easier as pretty much any character/body shape could be freely blended with any other, male or female.. The task was simplified even more when Thorne & Sarsa released the Young Teens 5. With G2F/M we had Zev0's Growing Up morphs which took into account many of the proportioning issues we struggled with while creating Gen 4 child and teen characters. While autofit also made it easier to deal with the clothing fit issue, the lack of more "modest" or conservative" styles that would be appropriate for the "younger set". Thankfully there was K4 and YT5 clothing, but as with the Mil kids/teens, styles were still somewhat limited. WiIth the advent of G2F/M, only Genesis and M4/V4 (the clones which needed to be purchased separately) clothing content could be fit to a character, so the choices were even more limited as to what as be available for younger characters.
With G3F it appears autofit only accepts G2F clothing, so even Genesis (1) clothing is now "unsupported" (along with Gen 4). This means even less of a variety available for younger characters than with G2F/M. Granted this may change in time when (if) fit clones for Genesis and Gen 4 are made available. However, given the radical change to G3's texture map structure, UV and texture swapping from older generations is apparently no longer supported without some form ot texture conversion plugin like there was for Gen 3 and 4. thus limiting one only to having to purchase new skin textures (via character content and new figures) created for G3F.
Granted, G3F has only been out a few weeks so it is difficult to say when and which morphs/character sets, skins, and clothing will be available. However looking back at Genesis and G2 development , it most likely will be a while before more youthful character morphs/shapes, clothing, and skin textures will be available as most likely we will have to go though all the supermodel, ethnic, athletic, fantasy, and stylised, figures all over again first.
For those of you complaining that theres too much skimp-wear, Daz have just proved you wrong by releasing a perfectly respectable police woman outfit that in no way makes your character look like a stripper or street-walker (http://www.daz3d.com/night-cop-for-genesis-2-female-s)... Ummm....

The texture incompatibility aside, I have no incentive at all to take up G3, and its bloody hard to dress G2F

Yeah I've seen that outfit at a few real world "parties" and a couple "dance clubs"... Absolutely nothing wrong with that outfit..... *grins*.
However, to be fair, Bobbie25 has some really nice non-skimp that is still very well done for both G2M as well as G2F. His catalog has a far greater selection of styles and time periods than many, so it's always worth a second look through his catalog when he goes on sale
I am not a connoisseur of skimpwear but there seems to be a quality issue with new releases. I was expecting more realism for sets to go with gen 3. So far Lots of rather average looking stuff. Certainly not anything tempting me to want to pick anything up.
That new outfit is................ I mean REALLY?? She looks like a fancy dress cop from a party, not a cop on the beat. OMG! LMAO
Whew! For a moment there I thought I was the only one whose first thought was "stripper!" when I saw it. And it's in a bundle I could really use with proper police environment sets that work in Poser too. :sigh: Will just have to get those separate even though the bundle seems cheaper. Don't need a "Cop Tart", tyvm.
Just a plea. Can we not have this thread devolve from from "I wish the DAZ store had more varied styles" to just straight up slut-shaming? I mean it hasnt got quite as bad as the job interview dress thread (which had a just lovely comment along the lines of "with a skirt that short the only job she could interview for is a stripper"... excuse me?)
Some of the comments are starting to aproach the "well no self-respecting woman would wear that" area, which I find a tad retrogressive. Can we stick to nice complaints about how DAZ is run rather than policing women maybe?
It does look a lot like a stripper outfit, which is why I was a bit surprised to see it bundled in with serious police sets. I'm interested in the sets, but not the outfit - looks tacky.
For the record I'm not against skimp-wear at all. On the contrary I buy a lot of skimpy outfits and Bobbie25 does have some good ones.
I'm still waiting for the sexy male cops with the handcuffs, nightstick, and leather chaps. :-)
I think the problem is that the outfit in question looks like a costume of a police uniform rather than an actual police uniform, and bundling what looks like a costume with real police items seems a little strange. I do think the outfit would be fun in Halloween party or bachleor party scenes, as well as some sci-fi scenerios. If this was added to something like a 'costume party' bundle (especially with Halloween coming up) that would definitely be something I would be interested in.
On a related note, I would love to see a police uniform for women modeled on a real uniform, maybe with additional textures to change it to a Park Ranger, EMT, or additional branches of the force (city, county, state trooper).
Sexy cop outfit sells more then regular cop outfit. If you were the PA, what would you rather do, appeal to the few who might by the realistic on or cater to the large number of people wanting sexy stuff. Regular outfits will come but give it time. The G3F releases are no different then the earlier female releases. These things take time. Please be patient.
The optitex dynamic cloth can easily fit G3F. Thats included the ones in the store and the freebies.
There was a great "real world" police officer set for M4 and V4, but I don't remember any for newer figures.
Only problem with that statement is the it is a G2F outfit.
I actually own all of the realistic cop outfits. When people say stuff doesn't sell, I have to wonder, because I own most of the real world ones in the store... And they have made a sale from me. =-(
My issue with the outfit is the hat. I'm just not seeing the hat, just doesn't look right to me.

When they say it doesn't sell it usually means it doesn't sell enough to justify the time spent developping the product, not that they never sell a copy.
Well, personally I prefer the "sexy outfits". Okay mostly lingerie and tight bodysuits. Also leggings/tights/stay-ups, and over-knee socks. Add a big sweater or a tight see-through top and some legwarmers and I'm sold. So yeah I also love the ordinary clothing. But not the 50's style ones and similar, there has been a lot of them in the least year.
(BTW did I comment in this thread? I can't remember. I was going to before, at least)
I can understand the frustration some poeple feel where there is so little choice. It's like in online games, people hate it when there is only skimpy outfits. I prefer those outfits myself but understand those that do not. It's all about choice. :3

It you want to complain, how about the lack of a beautifully tailored modern tuxedo that never showed up for M4, G01, GM2? I find men in "skimpwear" a turn off, but put him a tux, a suit, a uniform and I drool like a Bond Girl for 007.

First off, thanks for all you do..
I pointed out that I hated the other outfit for the simple reason that I'm not against some skimpwear but only that I want good realistic qaulity and that means I expect to pay more and if DAZ doesn't make what I need, I do go elsewhere... but I like DAZ and I like the people like you who completely misunderstand that I'm not talking about any 'threat' by my doing. I wanted to point out that this is a community of enthusiest that clearly don't make millions of dollars designing things like very well crafted 3D lamborghinis. We each do our own thing because we love what we do... thats the only reason why this isn't a capitolist market... because so many of the content providers would continue making products just because we love seeing our creations around the internet and the world.
In the end, many of the skimpwear products are just ridiculous in there very nature ... like female police uniforms with breast cleavage and a mini-skirt.. the only possible use for that outfit is a stripper cop... Why not make a realistic police uniform... it will take a lot of time and effort but I'll be damned if you might also get a reputation for selling good realistic qaulity over qauntity. I find that if I wait long enough and speak to enough people, I get what I need everytime... but I'm still waiting for a good starship bridge to take on a 5 year mission.. :)
I'm eagerly awaiting the morphs like those of Genesis 2 to be availible for Genesis 3.. to date, Zev0 and the other morph masters haven't put one out or I haven't seen that capacity with the new generation. But lets talk about whats going on now...

To me the issue isn't skimpwear ... its the gluttony of how much there is when everyday items like police uniforms are made unrealistic and by extension get very limited in usability.... sexy doesn't mean that everything is out on display and while I'm absolutely positive there is a market for the sexy cop outfit in the fantasy and comic books.. they are a waste of time for people like me who want to see realistic quality merchandise that people would actually wear outside of a party stripper.
I comment on the topic because I see this endless parade of skimpwear as wasting valuable time of those people that are professional enough to make the items I need.. I'd like to see them make the one well crafted item instead of the 5 fake looking, limited use outfits.. I argue for more expansion packs and outfits that can be made into uses for all genres like the Genesis Supersuite for example... I love a well crafted outfit that can be modified to be skimpwear by taking some items off.. but give me a workable outfit to begin with.
....it's really difficult when you uare trying to illustrate a serious story and you don't have the aptitude for modelling.
