I sent you a PM.
Realized I hadn't posted any progress here on my little project. So we have a 'cast' photo, my security chief and ship's counselr on their way to greet the new first officer, said first officer getting into an argument in engineering with the alien chief engineer, our security chief testing the 'new' transporter unit, our flight navigator in his quarters before they get renovated so he's not sharing anymore, and finally our Captain leaving the holodeck with the ship's Andorian Operation officer and getting some unexpected Vulcan sass from the ship's doctor in the process.
These are all in the order I rendered them up. The holodeck one was post my Windows 10 upgrade this weekend. It took 4 hours to render but it's using the time much better than it was previously. Almost no grain in the pic now. I did manage to do up the Republic in her right numbering and lettering but I don't have a proper render of it to share quite yet.
I rendered all but the bridge from my 'stage' set. I built up the corridors like I'd shown before and I'll share that, sans any of the rooms, once I get it cleaned up a bit. I'm saving the rooms as loadable objects later to cut the scene sizes down. The bridge and the observation lounge are all going to be on their own 'set'. I will end up having to not load engineering to load up my cargo bay, although I'm toying with letting it latch on to where I dropped the holodeck. The goal is to set it up to render multple shots while I'm at work since it takes so long to render in iray.
And yes, I am swapping out thos chairs in our Ensigns quarters for the other model. I compeletely blitzed on that when I was dropping them in before.
I am going to have to do up a Constitution hallway set up though to attach to the same quarters. I probably won't attach engineering though. I'll only need the quarters and hallways and maybe the torpedo bay, but I've been thinking about the big open crew lounge from TMP though as well. I'm thinking I might move that elsewhere though just so I don't have to do a massive edit.
All of these are looking great so far! I'm really excited to see where the story goes!
ashe5k, it's all looking like it's going to be intresting.
Tonight's Update. Now for the other work stations.
You have mail. :)
Let me know if it arrived and works in good order.
Got it. Going to try it out now. :-)
scatha,check your e-mails, please.
Whoops, corrected file in the mail
Just got it. will check it right now.
Should be the right one, even included the mtl file for your use in poser and double checked I had the right one.
I think they'll do okay. Thank you!
You're welcome, Mads. :)
Hey, scatha, it's now UV mapped and textured- except for the arm command panels- I'll get those tomorrow.
I do really like that raised level for the commander's chair. It looks great.
And thank you mdbruffy and Night-Forager. I imagine this is going to take me a few months to get it all rendered and assembled.
Great, looks good, mate. That'll finish up that bridge of yours. :)
Yes, it will. :-)
And here it is, the U.S.S. Tobias, NCC-101593.
I did my best to match the color scheme of the Venture-class update from Star Trek: Online.
Your registry numbers on the underside of the saucer look a little faint, but otherwise, it's looking good.
scatha, the chairs are in place and they raise the whole set to a new level. Thanks again!
Awesome, looks great, Mads! :)
Just give me a holler if you need anything else on future projects, I enjoyed this. :)
Okay.
So, does anyone have any advice on destroying that wonderful Torpedo set mdbruffy made up and for the most part re-creating the aftermath of the phaser hits in Wrath of Khan?
I'm thinking a bulk of the left wall will be gone with torn metal top and bottom and a view in between out the side of the nebula. The fire supression system should have kicked in and doused it but obviously there will be smoke. All we ever see of it in the film is the damage to the exterior and the explosion inside.
Textures. cracks, scorch marksm etc can add alot. You can do it with Photoshop brushes:
