There are some pretty expensive items in PC+ these days. Didn't PC+ items used to top out at around $7.99 or something, say a few months to a year ago?
Most items are still less than $7.99. There are a few at $8.99, and also bundles which are more expensive, but that's all.
I'll probably see this a few times.. but yea, the price brackets enable us to offer items we simply wouldn't have been able to in the past.
As Leana said, they're the exception to the rule however... but I'd take a look at whats included before just dismissing them as expensive.
Well, if it's any consolation I've been PC+ from my first few weeks as a Daz user and basically only post here in the commons lol :)
Also, SAVINGS NOTE: there seems to be quite a few items in today's Fast Grab that are Daz Originals, e.g that you could use $6 off coupon on to bring them down to just a few cents.
You're missing out on the weekly/monthly render contests then :)
I'm still too shy about my renders for that haha! But thanks @JackTomalin :D I'll check them out
Also occuring to me that the PC+ coupons usually don't apply to fast grab so my previous post might not be valid.
well I bought Chohole's I mean the Ogre's club with my bonus $6 coupy for 0.7USD $1.24Aussie
yes just not PC+ but I cannot get my third go to work
second go with bonus coupy but assume original one counts
FG items dont work on the coupons.
Yes, the PC+ coupon which works only on (non-PC) DO does work on new items.
AHHH did not actually realise it was in fastgrab as was searching by price/DO
There are some pretty impressive items in today's Newly Mad items. Absolutely love the Highlands, the Carousel and the PTF! Magic Shaders. The Bob hair is cool with so many options and Irradescent hair. The other items are cool too. My problem is going to be what to use the coupons on to maximize my savings. I still have the goddess dress and Season's bundle in my cart too. Since I am in Canada, I am very conscious of the downturn of our dollar. Not as bad as Australia but it's a lot nonetheless
There's been some great stuff released in this sale. Most of it's Iray, but still great.
March Madness hasn't been March Madness for a few years already ;). It's just been business as usual.

I appreciate the Honorary PC Benefits offer

Well, unless the Daz sales team blows my socks off this weekend, this month has felt a lot like March Meh-ness. As AllenArt has noted, this month felt very much like 'business as usual'.
There have been a few rather good deals, but for the most part nothing that I'm going to be talking about for years to come, Also, I almost bought an Ogre, but Daz gutted that sale the next day, at which point I lost interest in that sale, so the Ogre now languishes in my wishlist for some future time when a really good deal featuring said Ogre pops up. They never did fix the banner, they really should have removed the '$20 off' part of the banner as that part of the sale was gone the next day.
For those that are pretty much getting started, I'm sure that they've found some joy in this sale, and there's nothing wrong with that, but for those of us that have been building our Daz Studio libraries for several years now, and that have pretty well rounded libraries at this point, yeah. Minimal Madness is also not a bad analogy for the sales that have been offered this month. With a couple of notable exceptions, but I wouldn't call the 99 cent sales as particularly special as we've seen those in other months occasionally.
Even the Pro Bundle sales have been more disappointing as compared to recent Pro bundle sales.
The one thing that has made this sale less painful to my Daz budget is those insane discounts on gift cards a month or two back. I banked a LOT of store credit after the first of the year, and I haven't used a whole lot of it so far. 40%+ off gift cards? That translates to a 'hidden' 40% off on everything I'm buying these days, so that does stretch my Daz budget more than a bit. I'm not expecting to see those level of GC discounts again anytime soon, but with this whole human malware thing anything's possible I guess.
For those that shop here regularly, if you aren't taking advantage of gift cards when they go on sale, you really should. For those that live outside of the US, I get that exchange rates factor into this, so you have to pick the right moment to strike, but otherwise, yeah... Plus, treating yourself to a 'gift' might bring you a moment of joy...
This also applies to PC Club. If you spend more than a couple hundred a year on Daz stuff, it's worth it in the long run. You'll easily offset the cost of a PC+ membership within a couple of months, but of course buy it when it's on sale. Also remember that if you are doing a renewal early, it'll extend your membership appropriately. I did this in November 2019, even though my PC+ wasn't due for another 5 months, and it extended me a full year, into 2021.
I do think that the higher prices on stuff these days offsets those gift card discounts to a degree, and do feel for people that end up paying full price on stuff for whatever reason. Sometimes you just need something, and can't wait for the next decent sale. I've mentioned before that I'd be good with lower 'everyday' prices and corespondingly smaller discounts in sales, as then I'd be more willing to whittle down my wishlist, but that's not gonna happen...
I still prefer how they run sales over at Renderosity. We generally know how long sales are going to run over there, which makes it easier to work within our budgets. The 'dog with two bones' analogy someone posted in the 'sales error' thread is about right. We never know what's going on with current sales here, particularly how long they may run in most cases, and how future sales may or may not affect them. For a while last year, multi-sale discount stacking went almost completely away, but we've had it happen a couple of times in recent sales.
The multi-sale discount stacking, when it does happen here, doesn't even remotely approach what happened in Q2 2017 as I remember it of course. I bought a LOT of stuff during March-June 2017, pushing my Daz budget beyond it's limits, and feel good about the deals I got on most of my purchases. I even bought Hexagon at that time and don't feel bad about that one, even though it is now free. I also grabbed Carrera and Bryce at that time, but but haven't spent much time in those programs, but I don't feel bad about those either. The only purchase I did regret is Reality, as the DRM on that program wouldn't play nice with my computer. Never did get it working, but the 30 day return clock ran out while I was still going back and forth with Preta 3D trying to get it to work, so I own it but have never used it. Water under the bridge.
But I digress. Yeah, hoping for one last catchup sale hurrah so I can take one last look at the March items and see if there's anything I missed that is on sale for a decent price.
Mind you, I do appreciate that we get deals around here, but just wish that there was more consistency and less 'gotcha' moments when sales disappear suddenly or are changed the next day.
I'm off to figure out what to do with that 'triple coupon' $6 off thingie... to see if there's anything in the $6-7 dollar range worth acquiring from my wishlist.
I'm sure this has been asked plenty of times before but is there a way to filter out only DO items (hide PC+ items gets rid of a lot but not all) and leave everything else? It would make trying to use the non-DO coupon so much easier.
The best thing that happened this month was the release of HowieFarkes UltraScenery. Made the whole month worth it ;).

ATIs thread has info but basically tools on this thread are great.
Hey I'm new to daz3d, I've been wondering how aggresively I should be buying assets I want during this sale.
Are there sales like this fairly often, or is this a once or twice kind of thing per year?
March Madness in March
PA Sale in September followed by
PC Aniniversery Sale in October
and lately a Holiday Sale in December.
BUT there is also pretty much some sort of sale all the time.

There is a sale on something every day, so it just depends on how quickly you need an asset. Since you are new, the first thing you should do it get the DAZ-Deals browser add-on. It will show you the price history of every item, so you can get a good idea if the current price is the best deal.
The big plus for the big sales is that the vast majority of the vendors in the store will go on sale at some point during run of the sale, whereas during the the non-major sale months there are a lot of smaller vendors who fade into the background and only have store sales when they have new releases. DAZ Originals, on the other hand, pretty much go on sale at the same rate at all the time except during the PC+ sale. So, if you want something from one of the smaller PA stores, the chances are that you may not see this kind of pricing on their products again until the next big sale. For the bigger PAs though, it's really a case of how much you want the product vs. how much you're willing to pay. Generally speaking, most major PA and DAZ Original products will start to go on sale at least once a month once they've passed the 2 month "New item" period. That means you can expect discounts of 50% on PA and 65% on DO items, with discounts spiking to 60% for PAs and 70+% for DOs every few months. By comparison, you can get some products for over 70% off on PA products right now without having to do a lot of elaborate discount stacking. Also, the sales discounting on gift cards tends to be higher during the big sales... this weekend, for example, a PC+ member can get 24% off a GC of over $200. If you buy the GC and then use that credit to buy something that's discounted to 70%, your effective discount is 77.2%. While it's possible that you'll luck out and get offered a heavily discounted GC at the same time the products you want are on sale, the odds are much better for it to happen during a big sale.
This weekend feels so underwhelming as a whole.
Except for the gift card offer nothing special since Friday.
I reached the point, like many others, that I have gathered a good collection in my library. I try to buy assets only if I get major use from them ... which means that I have to refrain from many things although they are truly well made and I like them but I would probably never use. Sadly this means a lot of characters. I see lots and lots of new characters released that are really good but at the end of the day I only use the skin presets of all characters and my collection us pretty saturated at the moment.
Welcome to the Daz community, @scwasp ! I'm fairly new as well (November 2019) and would say, first and foremost, you're 100% doing the right thing getting involved in the forums. Everyone here is super nice and extremely supportive and helpful :)
You've already received really great advice from people re the sales. What I'd say in the way of additional advice is:
1. If you're just starting out but have a really clear idea of what you want/need, now is totally the time to spend... if not, it doesn't hurt to hold off and familiarise yourself with the products out there and how you wish to use Daz before heavily investing :) I bought loads of items in the beginning that I thought I needed to get started that, actually, I totally DIDN'T need. For example, in my blissful newbieness I original bought multiple core Daz Original figures mistakenly thinking that was the way to extend my morph dial library... and then a while later discovered, no, what I actually needed was products like 200 Plus Face Morphs etc. :) Thankfully...
2. Daz are unbelievably generous with their 30 day returns policy, so you can definitely buy things in the sale to try them out without feeling 100% bound to then keep them. Just don't abuse the policy, or they'll cut you off like a mother with a trick-or-treat bag on Halloween (although I don't know what the definition of "abuse" actually is, but I am always frightened of receiving the "you've gone too far!" email lol)
I've never heard, in all the years I've been here, of anyone being cut off for returning products.
