So.... March Madness?

My buying is definitely reduced due to the current situation. I lost one of my larger sources of income for the spring season (and the stock market crash will have a huge effect on potential work in the fall ... even if things are some what back to normal). I've got plenty of stuff to use though, so it's just strongly encouraged me to not get anything the past couple of weeks (after I got the official word). I'm quite thankful though that I have everything I do have, as I'm sure in the coming weeks it will get used to help entertain me. I don't need new stuff to have fun, though it would have been nice to get Howies new product. The wish list will no doubt grow a lot over the next few months. To be honest though, I don't buy that much anyway, so my buying probably won't be missed too much wink

In case anyone is super keen on one of the Genesis 5-7 pro bundles on offer today but strapped for cash due to the current state of affairs around the world, if you're eligible for the '70% off if you've bought a new item in last three days' offer , you can pick up 5 of those and it seems to count towards the pro bundle coming up free.

Apologies for the rubbish snap -- on my phone at the moment -- but it shows the discount coming off :)

I won't be heading to checkout with this cart but thought it might be of interest to others

It's a good combo, I already kind of bought most bonus items I wanted and I won't buy som that I won't want but maybe I combine them with some more of Josephines items that also get good discounts if you buy more.

While I would like to get a DO for free, there's nothing in that small list of Newly Mad items that interest me at all. :(

Same! I feel rather rude complaning about a freebie offer (because obviously they're always extremely generous as Daz are under no obligations to ever give things away for free like this!), but I can't help but feel the conditions in this current offer sort of take the gloss off...  I'm faring fairly ok right now with the global crisis, but there are SO many in this community who aren't either due to income loss and/or plummeting currency exchange rates. For them, this offer might seem less like a "hey, here's a free item!" and more like, "Hey, you can't afford to buy two new items and so you ALSO can't get this item for free you've really wanted!" Thumb, meet nose.

Having said that, it was only a few weeks ago they gave everyone $20 (if I'm remembering right) of free items with no conditions attached, so maybe I am being a bit ungrateful. Just trying to think of how this offer might be from the POV of some Dazers who are struggling ATM.

I don't know why they, or you, are calling this a free item.

By definition something free means something thatn is without cost or payment. If you have to buy something to get this "free" item it means that it does come at a cost so it is not free.

It is merely another form of discount for the items you are buying in the first place. In this case, for the newly mad items.

What they did at the start of March Madness and you also mentioned was indeed free.

    100% agree.

I (and others) are just using the definition/wording that Daz has used themselves in the banner today @alex86fire :) But in reality, of course, you are quite right. The additional item is being given without cost, but the transaction in order to acquire it is not without cost, so it's not strictly free no.

My post was just in sympathy for those suddenly struggling right now... I mean, it's always the case that some people can afford to take part in offers and others can't so maybe I'm not raising a particularly valid point, but exchange rates are going mad so there's undoubtedly more struggling than most right now, so... heart But I guess we can't expect Daz to offer another no conditions attached free item when they've already kindly done so during this sale period.

I mentioned this in another thread as well, while I do sympathize for those that are struggling because of the epidemic, I don't think new products is what they need right now.

Here is where I disagree with you post. It isn't up to others to presume to know what said others want or need in a time of crisis; with the exception of those trying to determine strategy, I spose.

Anyone else thinks that the new https://www.daz3d.com/gwendolyn-hd-for-genesis-8-female looks like Ciri from the Witcher?

She is beautiful, lovely....want to get her, for a date perhaps, sweet talk, and then perhaps she will render for me.

So today's a pretty awesome sale day for those who like Ogres and Ogre related things! 5 "free" Daz originals if you pick 4 from those already discounted below $20. However, if you don't like Ogres, no sale for you. Pro-Ogre propaganda?

I see this sale as strong encouragement for those who don't like ogres to buy one anyway.
With some cherrypicking, you can get upto $100 discount on select Daz Originals for an investment of less than $30 in Newly Mad releases.

What I dislike is if I were to buy the bundle I would have to then buy 3 more items despite the bundle containing 6 items - absolutely no incentive to buy the bundle.

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup, count me in that category!! I have 0% interest in owning an Ogre, but I'm probably gonna go for this anyway so I can get the 5x $20 off each offering because that's just too good to miss. And the skin textures for the Ogre characters all look fantastic, and I can always use them for different fantasy or sci-fi characters :)

And here I was thinking Ogre's were unintelligent -- they've found a way to infiltrate the home of every Daz user! (insert cringy "new world ogre" joke).

This! I would have totally gone for the bundle. Now I don't think I'm going for anything. It could at least count as 3 items or something...

I don't like the ogre stuff, still for these very interested in 20 off...The bonus item, https://www.daz3d.com/boxing-club, do count as a newly mad item. So if you are eligible for 70%, cheaper than any of the other ogre items.

The ogre stuff looks beautiful! Really well done, but my budget says "You must wait." It's the way of things. The time will come. wink

    I'm kind of the same.

I don't really need it right now as I am not doing anything fantasy at the moment but it looks so good I want it. If todays offer would have activated with the bundle, instead of forcing me to buy 4 products, I would have really considered it but like this, even though I really like it, it's not in my budget.

I'm hoping for a new gift cart discount soon as my store credit is really low.

..did well in the 99¢ PC sale, 6 items (including a couple expansions for Rural Chateau which I recently purchased) for under 7$

Was tempted by the 40% off on an annual membership (which would add to the three month one I currently have) but alas once again it'c closing on the end of the month and finances are tight.  Wish they'd have such an offer earlier.

Chohole's club is much crookeder.  Personally, I thought this was rather overpriced for a single prop and seemed like it was only there in od=rder to make the Bundle look bigger, but as the cheapest item in the Newly Mad selection, they'll probably sell a bunch to people looking to score on the DO deal.  Ditto for the loincloth.  LIke most, I imagine, I skipped the Bundle and bought the Ogre, the boxing ring and two other items I liked in order to snag a couple of older sets that have been on my "maybe" list for a while.
