I purchase it yesterday at the sale price 15.00
The ad said the sale was only good for 8 hours.
When I went back the ad had disappered.
Possible when you came, ad there, sale over.
    Sorry if I am correct.

Please contact DAZ, I suppose it's a store issue and so me and Kendall have no possibility to help. I'll report the issues to Kevin anyway, so that he knows and can check what happened.

That happens to me quite often - I seem to be on a timeline when the store still displays the changing banner ad, but the sale (sometimes 4, sometimes 8 hours) is over.

Just wanted to show a picture I did using the new fiberhair obj export for the polar bear. Some of those folks who may find rendering large amounts of hair under high render setting with high quality lights may consider what i did- because at least in this instance it rendered faster as an obj :) Also was not a very "heavy" obj either :)

It exported beautifully and with wonderful detail, and rendered just as delicately as I think the fur does as renderman curves.

Needless to say, I've been impressed with the newest version of LAMH and how well it works with shaders and everything. :)

Hi, probably you didn't click the 'select and import object from Studio': it's located at the top right, along the combobox that list the models available in the scene.

Have you installed any of the previous RC's? If not, you will need the supplemental files archive as well.

Hello folks, here comes the 1.07RC5 release:

    [Windows 64bit] http://lamh.ovbi.org/1.07.RC5/LAMH.1.07.RC5.WIN64.zip
    [Windows 32bit] http://lamh.ovbi.org/1.07.RC5/LAMH.1.07.RC5.WIN32.zip
    [OSX] http://lamh.ovbi.org/1.07.RC5/LAMH.1.07.RC5.OSX.zip
[Resources folder] http://lamh.ovbi.org/1.07.RC5/LAMH_Resources.zip (if you’ve previously downloaded a RC version, you will not need the resources file.)

Once you download the appropriate version and resources zip files, you need to unzip those in /Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins/ (OSX users in: /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4 64-bit/plugins/), overwriting existing content.

We’d really appreciate if you could address eventual issues and support requests via email at: devel_at_look-at-my-hair.com (replace _at_ with @), and not directly in this thread.
In the email please provide log files and the steps that led to the issue.

DAZ Studio log file can be accessed from menu: Help->TroubleShooting->View Log File
LAMH log file path is: Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/lookatmyhairAM/logfile.txt

    Thanks for the continued support.

So I posted over at the Hivewire forums letting folks know. There is a couple that want to know what you mean by Poser compatible. Are you and Ken developing a plugin that will work in Poser or does all work need to be done in DAZ Studio and then exported out? Or is there a standalone product that your developing?

At the moment, the plugin still needs to run in DS. However, the FiberHair output is compaitble with Poser. A poser compatible version is indeed in the works.

Far as I know the plugin is still Daz only, but the fibermesh can be exported to use in other programs such as poser :)

And props and such made with it.... my broom freebie, for example-the broom straw and its morphs were all made with LAMH. The finished prop works in Ds and Poser :)

I've been meaning to ask this question about LAMH for a while, now, but life has come up and bitten me on the posterior enough that I'm all out of sorts when it comes to my 3D work.

Would LAMH be able to do two-toned, sharp-angled stuff like I have here in this illustration?

    http://jemstone.deviantart.com/art/Alice-Paper-Doll-2007-roughs-61373942

    or here?

    http://jemstone.deviantart.com/art/Alice-1999-Scrap-24413294

Also, asymmetrical cuts, pixie-bobs, and the like - are these possible?

I've been wanting to explore the product (as I believe it might help me in terms of not having to learn a complete modeler, like, say, Hexagon), and would be especially apt to purchase it if I could do these things with it right out of the box.

I have money, and I'm ready to throw it at LAMH, you see... ;)

The answer to part one is yes and no and yes. :-)

Depending on where the change-over occurs in the hair it could be done with shavegroups. Such as this: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRU5d1XPltWUbVQsU4XwxKXwy9BPm-7s4OrnIhtngRCBp0ihbeOpw

Drastic changeovers further down in longer hair are a challenge with the current version, using renderman and the supplied shaders. I'm not sure that it would meet your criteria ATM. We are considering adding that in the very near future.

It could be done with the FiberHairs and custom textures, but that is an exercise left to the reader. :-)

Part 2 (asymmetry) is very easily done in LAMH in any number of ways.

In that case, yay, and hmmm, and yay!

It can do the short (neck-length) back doing a sharp-angle cut to the front as shown in those scrap sketches, though? Style at this point is more important than color, you know?

If you would like encouragement to add in the other fiddly bits in the very near future, consider it given. :)

Time to start digging on the data and get my money ready. :)

I've installed the latest RC, but I'm not able to register it. When I go to the 'About Installed Plugins' form, I can see that LAMH is loaded and active, but there's no place to enter the serial number. When I open the LAMH tab, I only see the player UI. I had previously installed the player, but I uninstalled it and made sure that no files were left in the plugins folder before I installed the full version. Any idea what's going on?

Oh, and just to let you know: Native Poser version = instant sale!!!

The panes look quite similar. If the right bottom button says "Show LAMH Editor" then you've installed the Full. Otherwise the player dll is installed. DAZ QA changed the name of the player dll in the last DIM update, so deleting the lamhPlugin.xx.dll may not be enough. Look for any dll starting with lamh and move it out of the plugins folder. Then install the RC.

The Poser version is in development, but don't hold your breath for it. It is going to take a little while to get it completely finished.

Whew! After a couple of days of pulling my hair out and reading through the forums, I finally got this working and I am very excited! I'm pretty familiar with Poser, but still getting sorted out with DAZ (purely because of LAMH I decided to finally get started with DAZ!). So, first render with DinoRaul's Mammoth has me very eagerly pressing render again and again trying all kinds of new poses and lighting and everything! I figured out how to affect the hair colors after this render, but still haven't gotten the coloring quite where I like it. Still, this is a promising start. I can't wait to explore this more!

It's an excellent render and much better than any mammoth like one that I tried in the past. Very well done and thanks for sharing it!

Follow up question to my follow up questions...

Let's say I manage to get the hair I'm after, and it's fantastic and I want to give it to other people. Are there save-as options that would enable me to do this (as an .obj or sommat)? Are there any Imperia... I mean, legal entanglements that I'd need to be aware of?
