Taryn is standalone, no need for Bridget!
what was the banner discount requirements? i didn't get one
I hate the like button; it seems to stop folks thinking for themselves.
Whilst its occasional use is fine, it doesn't substitute for a true response.
You don't understand that folks might want to create something slightly different? It is certainly a valid artistic expression. If a certain base isn't appealing, dial it out.
The banner I got was a 'Thank you for your support of Bridget 8 pro bundle' which offers me an extra 10% off Newly Mad items, or 20% off for two or more.
In effect, as a PC+ member, with two or more Newly Mad items in my cart, and with other stacking discounts, I get 55% off (total), which is pretty poor compared to every other major sale I've seen here.
It's also the exact same offer that's on the Ad itself, so you didn't even get that. As near as I can tell, what you got, and I got as well, was DAZ using the Special Offers to spam you. I posted a thread on this here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/313446/is-this-purple-bar-offer-really-a-purple-bar-offer#latest
That is a bit odd, frankly. Sometimes the add-on characters in the bundle don't need much from the base character. But they usually need something.
So, does that mean that she comes in at the same size as base G8F, or does she at least use Bridget's slightly smaller size?
As to the question of why she wasn't in the Mei Lin bundle instead, clearly Mei Lin came out before she was created. I have noticed that the character morphs "for X8 character base" usually come out around the same time that base morph was released. Very occasionally, another one will be released later. But not that often.
But, really, it does make more sense to make sure that only add-ons that actually do require the base are the ones that get included in the bundle -- unless none of the add-ons on offer require the base?
As to the purple banner; this time it only applies if you buy the product. The banner says:
Thank you for your support of The Bridget 8 Pro Bundle. Get an EXTRA 10% OFF* any Newly Mad Items
OR get an EXTRA 20% OFF* when you buy any two (2) or more
It doesn't say for how long, and it does include the counter-productive and confusing boilerplate text saying everything has to be in the same cart. But I guess is something new comes out while the bundle is on offer at release discount it makes for some extra discount.
Might have been nice if Briget 8 had been the "key" for a continuing discount through the rest of the MM sales event. But it doesn't say that.
I'm really liking Ellis too! She's gorgeous with really interesting features.... This bundle and addons is great for me!
Yeah, I'm hoping for that too since I didn't have any of the previous keys. It really seems fair that they'd use it since it's the newest bundle....
I wanted to try a really hearty laugh with the powdered wig hair I just got, so Bridget to the rescue - I can almost see Wolfie (from the movie "Amadeus") chasing her 'round the room. :)
Have you tried switching the SSS mode to mono? When set to chromatic, it will generate a ton of red pixels (noise). I believe this is what can cause the extra redness? Of course with ample lighting and render times, that should go away. But, in my case, I use mono and set the transmitted color to 0.43 0.28 0.19 or similar values. Definitely a personal preference; I much prefer monochromatic noise than colored noise.
I also do post-work in Photoshop though and will sometimes desaturate a bit there too.
Stunning image! Almost makes want to buy into this figure now.
I just checked and Bridget’s head is at 0%! So I’m not sure why it says it requires Bridget...? I loaded the figure directly from Smart Content so all morphs should be in it. Very weird! OK, just saw that it is Bridget’s body that is at 70% but you really don’t need that, you can make whatever body you want. The head does not require Bridget!
For the record I never wrote this, it's simply a mistake in the quoting format... also I'd like to add that it is not a question about the end user's/PA's diverse creativity it's that daz has not repeated it's flood of diversity that they had with the 6th gen characters and have largely fallen back to their norm with the original characters...
You're confusing seperate PAs with Daz's in-house characters...
Sorry for misreading the quoting format. Looks like we're both talking about Daz core characters, so we're on the same page in that regard. G8 has been pretty diverse in terms of age and wrinkles, so there are certainly things to like about G8 (heck, I own most of the core characters). Hope the rest of G8 will branch out in terms of other kinds of diversity.
Yeah, I'm seeing a bit of Ellen Page in her, too, now that you mention it... though when I first saw her in close-up, my initial impression was Neve Campbell.
Neve Cambell was the vibe I got as well.
Thank you for the advise rsharp. I will certainly give that a go. The render set-up I used had a white spot, a bluish HDRI and a neutral background, so the redness I'm experiencing with many of these skins can't be down to lighting, reflection or radiosity. Thanks again for your tip.
Thanks for the info Alicia, I went ahead and poicked up Ellis based on your post.. I did a test render and really like her skin, and although I like the head morph, I turned it down to 75% because it was a little to strong, but I am happy with her, reminds me of a strong Latina character. Thanks again.
Whoa! Or should I say "caliente?"
Looks awesome!!!
Sounds rather like she needs Bridget for the smaller size. Assuming she is smaller than V8's 5'10" or whatever.
I'm having a lot of fun with this bundle. :) This isn't Bridget but it's one of the outfits that comes with the pro bundle (plus one of the texture add-ons) and one of the hair that comes with the pro bundle.
It’s really easy to make a body any realistic body size already with existing morphs. I almost never use the body that comes with a character anyway or maybe only as a base. I get characters for their face and/or skin. I never even pay attention to the body because I know I’m going to change it.
