  • Thought I would drop into the thread as my latest project was a backstory/character portrait for a character from the DC Universe Online MMO.  It involved a lot of postwork experimentation in Photoshop to get the various character renders close to the look and feel of old Silver Age and Golden Age comics.  I picked up pwToon on the recent BOGO sale but still found Photoshop the better route.

Does anyone know how I can fix this issue.  I am using kitbasher boots by MightyMite and they only seem to keep their shape if using base G3M.  If apply any morphs or dial the character up with say bodybuilder settings, the boots get all wrinkled up.  Which makes them pretty useless if they deform when you are trying to make a superhero and not a scrawny base G3M character.  Oddly I don't remember having this problem with the socks I got from him to use for my Spider-Man character.

    Thanks

  • Gemini,

I got the same results with Michael 7 and Swole 7, but when I used individual dials for fitness, bodybuilder, etc it didn't look too bad. The attached picture is an extreme morph, but the boots are almost wrinkle free.

I tried using the bodybuilder on just basic G3 and it definitely got wrinkled.  I guess as long as you aren't doing any close ups it would be ok.

I don't have any of his products, but look in the "Parameters" tab, with "all" highlighted.  Check every setting in there to see if there is anything there to address this.  Sometimes I find stuff that is only visible in that tab.

MightyMite added compatibility for some of the body morphs.  Boots looking better now.  Progress!

So, does anyone know where I can find a good belt for Wolverine?  I have searched my library high and low, and can't seem to find anything that works well. Pretty much every belt I have are all too thin or just look weird.  I thought about trying the one that came with Smay's Superhero Suit but I can't figure out a way to remove the extranious stuff attached to it.

Smay's belt won't work well unless you use it exactly as intented.  What I've done is use a regular belt then attach an X-men buckle over the buckle of the belt I use.  You can parent the X buckle to the belt.  With Superheros, you really have to master kit-bashing.

Actually, that is exactly what I was going to do.  I downloaded a nice 3D X-men logo obj that I wanted to use for the buckle, but my problem is finding an actual belt that works.  Everything I have is way too thin or looks entirely wrong.  Which belts have you used that look decent?

I'll have to go back and look at my inventory.  Belts are a pain.

MM released the updated boot product on Rendo.  Should be in your account automatically.  Stellar support.  Really happy he was willing to dive back into that product and tweak it.

Ok, so here is my first attempt at Wolverine using G2M.  I need to find arm hair though.  Any ideas?

    Love the Wolverine Gemini!

Thanks.  Only thing missing I think is some good arm hair, but the only thing I have found is Real Hairy for G2M.  But it is a pretty pricey product.

Here's a quick alternate Wolverine based on X-Force suit.

Unshaven Body Hair for Genesis autofits just fine to Genesis 2 Male.  It's a Daz product, so if you're a PC member it's %30 off, plus you could use your monthly $6 coupon toward it.  So that's a little cheaper.

    Great Wolverine, BTW!

  • Great Wolverine!!! Lord of the Bears has a hairy texture which might help as well and already G2 Male.

Not much customizations to this one really.  FWSA Harley is pretty much perfect OOTB.  Joker made using Chester 8, also pretty much perfect OOTB.

If that's a not a symbolically placed dagger, I don't know what is! Nice work all around, btw.

Slick craftsmanship, certainly, but I just can't wrap my head around the notion of DocOck having a male stripper's physique!

Yeah, I know it's "official" as the more recent comics have depicted him such, but to me, Otto will always be a portly middle aged gent who would likely get winded ascending a few flights of stairs...if not for his sepentine WALDO units.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Very true.  I originally tried to make him look a bit more stocky and portly, but couldn't quite get it dialed in very well with the morphs.  None of my efforts looked right because they just made him look fat everywhere.  What do you think about this version?

  • I think I like the portly Doc Ock better. Nice image either way. I recognize many of the pieces except Ock’s arms. Where did you get those?
