Non-Complaint: OMG OMG, OMG! While sorting through recently retrieved boxes of photos from storage I found something I thought I'd lost 35 years ago. Back in 1974 I bought a 4"x6" hologram (two of them in fact). Not your modern holograms, but orginal technology, red laser holograms that do not show an image unless you provide a source of red laser or otherwise coherent or "purified" light to shine through it. At the time the price was $25 apiece. I couldn't afford a laser of the type available back then ($$$$) so I used a slide projector a pinhole and the filter they provided. It made fuzzy but viewable images. Cool! However, sometime in the next 10 years I'd thrown out some stuff while moving. A few years later I'd looked for my holograms without success and lamented that I believed they had been in the box of stuff I threw out.
But today, I found them. 
Now with lasers everywhere, I need to pick up a cheap red laser pointer, and a lens to spread it out and see if these 44 year old holograms still work. Happy happy, joy joy! 
I do remember I had the holograms with me at work at the Kennedy Space Center for a while in the late '70s where I had access to a red laser. Magnificent images. So very cool for the time!
Viewed through normal lights the hologram plates just look like near uniformly yellowish gray translucent foggy exposures with hints of color spectrums here and there but in a laser they were wonderful monochrome red images. I hope they still are.
If I remember correctly one was a transmission hologram and you looked through the hologram to see the 3D image behind the plate. The other was a projection hologram that created the 3D image in front of the plate when you looked toward the plate.

Well, the main computer is windows 10 pro but the second computer is windows 10 home because the license was based on the version of windows 7 that was installed. I'll have to decide if it is really worth $99 to upgrade that one to pro.

I was lucky...I decided to upgrade from Windows 7 Pro when they were giving 10 for free.

...from the sound of what you have been going through there, that would be a very good thing.
...not particularly bothered with that as I already turned off updating back on Sept 30th 2016 when they changed from individual update files to the rollup bundle where you have to accept all or nothing jut like W10. I also have a very stout firewall and scan my system regularly.

I agree. Even if half the stuff was imagined, most of it was not. Having dinner early and closing kitchen early from having the normal evening snack does not sound normal or sane.
..that was why I didn't "upgrade" during the "free" offer because at the time my system was W7 home and 10 Home Edition pretty much put's your system in MS's hands.

Yep but if you had Windows 7 Home Premium the upgrade was only to Windows 10 Home and then if you wanted Windows 10 pro it cost an an extra $99.
...well getting closer to the the high of 92° predicted for today, time to go find some AC. Heat advisory for the area with temps possibly above 100° Tomorrow through Thursday.

While I understand concerns over privacy with Windows 10, you do realize that nobody knows more about your online activity than your ISP right? Every single packet of interaction between your PC and the net goes thru their servers. Unless you use a VPN I suppose.
And keep in mind a lot of businesses use Windows 10, and I don't recall seeing many businesses up in arms over their security and privacy, when arguably it could affect a business far more than an individual.
And if you factor in the info your browser has, and Google has, the whole Windows 10 privacy discussion might be less and less an issue, IMO

I have always had the Pro versions since they started having them. I think XP was the first time they offered a Pro version of the OS.

Complaint: Up to my armpits in old photographs retrieved from storage in three moving boxes full of photos. Looking for photos of my significant other. I have very few. Spent some weepy time this afternoon. It's been 24 years.
For some reason I put Only the Brave (2017) movie in my DVD queue on Netflix. I put it high on the list it seems because it is the next disc on the way to my home. It is a good movie, but I am not sure why. 0.o well there are worse movies to watch and rent, but still.
Complaint I cut myself while shaving with a razor I probably should not have. I put a bandaid on the cut but not sure what else to do. Reason I am probably not supposed to have the razor is because I think it is a rule not to have razors in my room. It is not in my room but in the bathroom. Another reason to love this home. Not!

It is medicine time. My headache has gone from annoying to tolerable so not feeling like getting into a discussion with staff about why she thinks I have a headache. She probably will say too much screen time from electronics. 0.o
