    Neeew ... did I read new :D

    No hints at all?

Now I'm gonna be chomping at the bit, looking for the new stuff ... lol. You just effectively stopped my buying anything else so I have available funds for 'new' with one three letter word ... lol

But there was a hint on the previous page ;)
    >>> No jungle planned yet, but the next one at least has some palm trees, and comes with a sunset skybox useable on another set.

    Happy guessing ;)

Yes, but that was only one hint ... You mentioned possibly two new sets ... lol.

Ah right, forget about the other one, it`s no environment, and I am 99% sure it`s nothing you`d be interested in ;)

Got late here, off for today!

And please, please please! don't stop making them for (strictly) Poser users...please? *smile*

    Wow, great ones Dani!
I love how foreground/background come together, especially on Winter barn and Late for tea.
The penguins are cute, clearly you had less work with it than on the other ones, but it`s no less effective.

No worries about Poser support. I am more of a DS guy, but don`t plan on ditching Poser anytime soon.

If it's any help, I did buy the Speed Render Stages at the time (at least I think I did around mid January if DAZ is to be believed), but I do remember seriously debating it, although I originally was planning to get them right away. I'm pretty sure they were released at a quite unfortunate time with a lot of competition both in sales and products. And if people are not familiar with skyboxes - which are rare around here - then I'm sure the price point for what seems like just 5 bases might have felt a bit steep. After all there are a few very similar products, direct competition, so to speak.

Lastly, there are two fantasy and two sci-fi-esque bases, but all of them have a bit of dark theme which does kind of limit the range you can use them for. The sci-fi bases are perfect to present a cool Sith Warrior, but for your valiant Jedi Knight, well, there's nothing quite as fitting.

I'm not trying to trash the product or anything - it's nice and I'm glad I bought it, for the skyboxes alone, but if it didn't sell so well - those were my own arguments against getting it, maybe they help shedding some light on why that was.

Thanks Barubary, good points. I think the skyboxes were a bit lost on the set as selling-point indeed.
After all, most product images display the items in front of some background, even if none is included.

Yes, the set is rather dark-themed. I had planned to make a sister set with more of a friendly jedi knight feel, but that`s off for now.

I just finished a new front image for SRS, why not post it here.
Let`s say this time it tries to get the content across with a fist ;)

Much more effective promo shot, I think.

And if it matters, when you do decide to put out another SRS, I'm buyin' that, too... lol.

I loved the look of the Speed Render Stages but I'm afraid I'm one of the (possibly many) who looked, lusted after but didn't hit the "buy" button. ...

Thanks for the feedback on that, since I am still trying to figure out what went wrong there I honestly appreciate it.
I wasn`t really aware it might have been lost between special sales a bit.
So far my working theory is that maybe I failed to display the amount of content (not everyone takes the time to browse all images) and thus the pricing looked too steep. I am actually about to do a new front image. ;)

No worries about missing the intro sale, I am sure it will be on one sale or the other eventually.

Hey, thank you very much for putting the Speed Render Stages back on Intro sale - I picked it up at last, together with the new Oasis set, and even got the last of the Easy Environments I was missing (the Winter one) - sadly my store credit is now in desperate need of replenishment before MM gets started!

I'm all in, if you made a set of sky boxes only I'm in. I'm pretty sure I have every set so far. I love them and the easy mix and match use of the sets.

Thanks for posting this Jaderail! :)
Sometimes I get to say I am happy about the surprising ways a set is used. In this case I am very happy to see a set used perfectly as intended.
You didn`t use them here, but take the included poles for proof. ;)

I just bought Sickle`s ropes too, looking forward to toy with SRS / rope combis myself later today.

Late reply of mine, but thanks! Very glad you like the palm trees since vegetation is the section I tried to get better with.

Just my first trial of the Speed Render Stages - maybe not "Make Art" like Jaderail's, but I'm looking forward to doing more with these...

    Me like!
Especially the wolf one, it seems to tell a story ...someone got that guy up there...

The edited fires on the top one ... that`s actually something I had planned for a future set, don`t sue me for copyright if it pops up one day. ;)

Yeah, I think he may have appeared 100% human at the time though...
Re the fires: quite a nice idea, especially as I'm sure yours will be much more realistic (I did say this was a "first trial" but I really meant a "quick look")

I own the Mountain Trail, which is perfect for my preferred rendering (medieval). A+

Nothing beats a quality scene with fast render times. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    Nice!

I used Top of the World in my favorite of the promos for the rope product, the one with the dragon.

I'd like to see a night sky square box that's not black or grey. Stars ... different moon phases ... different far-off landscapes or waters ... etc.

    >>> Heart attack here ;)
The one from Speed Render Stages has a moon, clouds and a few stars ...donno, doesn`t seem that far from your description unless I am missing the point. :/
Solar System has a lot of star and galaxy skyboxes plus 3D planets, but I guess that`s not what you are after.

I have all your sets, including the one you mention, but it's still primarily black. And the ars are barely perceptible.

I'm thinking skies like these, with more color variation:

Ah, ok ...the last two look more like very late evening, the search results on the first mostly look a bit stylized.
I`ll keep it in mind, maybe I can come up with something sometimes.

As for the later two images you linked, one thing you could try is strongly reducing the ambience on existing day or evening skyboxes, and maybe add a color tint to it.
I doubt a moon will rise, but I think it could give you some nice results.

Edit: Just tried it myself ... works better with some than others, but I admit it`s not the same like a properly made night sky. :(
