    Her head and body don't match. One thing I've never liked about the teen products is they don't really match stylistically the rest of the character lineup. This one doesn't either. Why no eyebrows? Teens need these too.

    i don't really buy youthful characters but one time I think one bundle was cheaper than getting the hairs individually... I am passing

    she looks like no teen I have ever seem more like a fairy or something. For some reason the character has none of the awkwardness of a teen. Very stylized

    LOL! Damn, I forgot to add the other pro bundles! I did it for M8 and V8, but completely frogot this time that they had to be in the cart... I guess I'll have to contact DAZ. *Facepalm*

    Yeah, I have to admit...having already BOUGHT all the bundles that they were providing as free, getting an additional discount off in lieu was absolutely wonderful.  My final price for the Josie 8 Pro Bundle itself was super-low, since I'd been saving my PC+ coupon as well.  So I splurged on extras (Moxie Sparks!), featured PA items from my wishlist, and a few rando's.

    You can argue about whether she's an older or younger teen forever; the key for me in this generation is that she adds significant value to the gene pool, the Pro Bundle items are great, and she's required for Moxie! ;)

    I agree about the cartoony look.  She has a lot of the fairy thing going on.  The lips are odd too...very large for a teen...not that this isn't possible.  I just thought that Josie was always the quintessential "whitebread" sort of teenager to be used as a base for other teenish characters.  She's not all bad...just not what I was expecting.  I much prefer RS Kyla for a younger teen and ISource Andromeda for an older teen.   FWSA Melinda (Aivery) also is a great teen if the age is dialed slightly younger.   I'm still on the fence on this new Josie...trying to think if she's a good addition or not.

    Having said the above...I do like the looks of the spinoff character, FWSA Willa.  She has more of a teen look than the base Josie.

    Adding one of the New Debut drops it another 10%, and although the orange banner isn't up yet, I did indeed have the additional discount. I won't post what I had in the cart so others can perhaps get the same results-  but the 72% off made the Pro Bundle a steal for the hair and outfits and other characters that will work on G8F even if I don't use Josie. If you get the banner and have a New Debut the 66% off is nice. (it's only about $4 difference.)

    I posted on my Art Studio thread but will mention it here, I don't like all those lines by her mouth- more like a senior citizen area, than a teen.

     Well based on the couple of renders that have poped up in the gallery, she is not orange. cheeky

    So, here is my first Josie 8 render.
    I also dialed in all of the eyelash shortening morphs to get her to look human. lol (cloese up is currently rendering)
    And yes, she is not orange!

    She looks too old, I know she's not supposed to be a young teen but  ... .

    The mouth is too 'tight', the brows too arched, the chin too angular, and where is the no-brows option ?

    The eyelashes are absurd, how did they ever get past QA ?

    I seriously hope they do an update for this, and not rely on PAs to fix a poor product

    RE: the comment below about the lashes, that's a good thing to know (but it's daft hiding this away)

    I still think if they wished to give her stupid long eyelashes they should have included a shorter set as an option

    I may be over critical on the model,  I think they just used some bad aspects

    I'm asuming the model in the Jocelyn Hair is also Josie 8, she looks a much better in those pictures.

    Eyelashes can be reduced to next to nothing:

    In Eyelashes is a morph in ZBrush section (that probably was sort of overlooked or intended to be here) tune that down and the lashed disappear. As it's in the Hidden section you have to open that......the morph is called PHMPaisleyLashes.....

    Holy crap those lashes. Those aren't even falsies level. And the crepe wrinkling around the mouth is painful. I don't mind the heavy makeup as it's a thing off and on, but whoever did it could have actually gone for something that looks like the modern Instagram trends and had fun with different styles?

    The eyelash morphs are not on the eyelashes, they are on Genesis 8.
    Shaping : Genesis 8 Female : Eyes : Real World :

    • Eyelashes Curl = -100%
    • Eyelashes Hide Layer 1 = 50%
    • Eyelashes Hide Layer 2 = 50%
    • Eyelashes Length Lower = -100%
    • Eyelashes Length Upper = -100%

    Kinda on the fence with her.  Some pics she looks a little more stylized, some a bit older than the other teens. 

    Thanks for the render JamesJab, She looks more teen-like as I would expect.  And she looks far more feminine than V8 or O8, I was getting worried Genesis 7 was the end of the line on Daz women.

    I love her! Much better than Josie 7! No longer has that pouty lipped look and certainly a more natural tone. I'm glad that she looks a bit older, too, so when Tween Julie 8 arrives, it should feel much more like a kid sister (or younger cousin).

    In the Josie Pro Bundle image she looks like a 20-something trying to re-live her glory days of high school.

    The body shape is nice but the head does not look like a teen to me.  The lips are really odd - I didn't even notice the ridiculous eye lashes because I couldn't get past those lips; my first thought when I saw the lips was, "Disney villianess."  The skin, though, is nice and I like the outfits so with the additional discounts I may pick her up.

    Paul half the truth......there is a shortening morph in and now to jot down:

    - Genesis 8 Female Eyelashes

    - Open the Parameters Tab

    - Make sure you have "Hidden" selected

    - Look at the ZBrush set

    - Turn down the "PHMPaisleyLashes" and be happy!

    And this is the result:

     

    BTW: when you use the same parameter you can make Olympia's Eyelashed all but disappear and I guess it's a remnant of the Paisley character......

    I like her, but don't think she looks like a young teen girl. Maybe that is on purpose? I know sites where we post digital art are much more stringent about teenagers and how they are portrayed nowadays..

    i think some of the orange comes from the default hdri image from the skydome.  the bottom of the image is red sand.
