they berries has hairs  lol  like raspberries

That could be because part of their parentage is Raspberry

The boysenberry is a cross among the European Raspberry, a European blackberry, an American dewberry and the Loganberry.

...but what of the forlorn crunchberry?

...'plaint. Why is it I can no longer find ice creme in quart sizes? A pint is to little (and for the amount, over priced) and I never get through a half gallon (actually 56 oz) before it gets that "freezer taste" (usually about half way through).

The boysenberry with all its hybrid parts sounds a bit Frankenberry-ish.

Same reason as the hot dog package/hot dog bun package ratio I suppose.

Not my problem! cheeky  I've found that the contents of a "half-gallon" ice cream container somehow migrates into my mouth within three or four days, and gathers chocolate sauce and peanuts along the way.  My doctor is not happy. indecision    Thankfully there is a bit of a throttle on my consumption.  I'm now mildly lactose intolerant causing me to increase the atmospheric methane levels, so I have to remember to not eat any ice cream 24 hours before I show myself in public.  And god forbid that there should be a sale on ice cream. surprise

went for my staycation carvel ice cream twist with rainbow sprinkles yesterday

    non-complaint - 2 senior discounts yesterday.

next 2 carvel is lemontree hair, went in for a trim. told them length to my shoulders,
my hair was to my waist, was kinda sad to see the long hairs on the floor was like 10 inches.
ringing up my bill, they asked me if i was senior citizen. i said not quite.  they gave me the discount anyways laugh

after ice cream went food shopping.  called taxi,  cab driver asked me if i was senior citizen, said the 'not quite' again.  it works a treat lol.
but i gave the discount back to him in tip.

...for me it's an occasional thing.  I tend to prefer the french vanilla and vanilla bean, delicate flavours that can easily be ruined by "freezer taste".  The only other variety I like is one made by a local brand which they call Espresso Madness which also has flakes of coffee flavoured chovolate in it.  My usual way to eat is is in an old fashioned sugar or waffle cone which is why a pint doesn't go very far.  A quart pretty much works perfect for a pack of either type of cone.

I used to remember quart packages.  The only ones who seem to do it anymore are the boutique brands which are way opverpriced.

..Senior discounts along with priority seating on transit,  two of the very few perks of getting old.  I even get a discount on Amtrak which is one more reason I prefer going by train than flying.

Speaking of airline cattle class, read an interesting article on Quora which was really informative as to why the three major US airlines are so much worse to fly on than the major foreign carriers.

could it be the deliberate overboking?

...it is a number of things, from that, to cabin attendants and ticket agents with bad attitudes, to lousy policies (example: American recently stopped offering premium seating to full fare paying passengers),

Best to actually read the article.

I have essentially given up flying.  Yeah, I could get an affordable flight to Florida if I went from and to a small airport (Erie, PA to Ft. Myers, FL) indecision but I absolutely loathe the modern airport experience and the mysterious shrinking plane seats. angry  In the 1960s the seats were actually bigger and farther apart.  But now that I'm almost 70 the seats are tiny, scrunched together and my bum is double the size.  Bummer. (in both senses of the word).  sad

HOWEVER, if I ever did have to fly, I would take full advantage of age and handicap services.  To get me to fly anymore they'd have to wheel me around in a chair and find me a seat with more leg (and butt) room. enlightened

UNFORTUNATELY, now I find driving long distance to be a problem too.  I missed my opportunity to drive a 12 hour day to go see the eclipse in South Carolina, so Thursday I opted for the consolation prize of driving 6 hours to way upstate NY to the 1000 Island area of the St. Lawrence river to revisit Boldt Castle http://www.boldtcastle.com/visitorinfo/ that I last visted 55 years ago.  It's a good thing a one-way trip was only 6 hours driving because my feet, knees, and hips were so sore that I'm hobbling around home here today.  I would have had real trouble if I'd had to drive 12 hours each way.  Next time I drive to Florida I'm going to have to budget three days of one-way travel instead of just two. frown

Boldt Castle has been much improved since I was there in the early '60s.  The story is that the castle was only 4 years into construction when in 1904 the owner's wife died and he immediately terminated all work and abandoned it.  I was there in the '60s and it was in bad shape with leaks, unfinished interiors, imported fireplaces still in crates, etc.  But I've heard that in the '70s the boat docks were gone and no visitors were allowed.  While there yesterday the guide showed me photos of the state of it in the '90s just before restoration began and it was absolutely deplorable.  But now the 1st two floors are quite lovely, with all fixtures in place and the rooms furnished appropriately.  The 3rd & 4th floors are clean but empty & rustic with cracked and some missing plaster, the 5th floor (attic) isn't open, and the basement is walkable and uncluttered but raw.  However, the outside is spotless, the grounds landscaping and gardens are immaculate, and the outbuildings and various docks are in good condition.  It was worth the visit.

They changed the sizes of ice cream lately.  I noticed those "half gallon" containers looked a little skinny, and sure enough, they've shortchanged us!  Price didn't go down, though.  angry
