I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one,
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I’d rather see than be one!

Ah, Yes! I Wrote the 'Purple Cow' -
I'm Sorry, now, I Wrote it!

Arghhh... it's raining again today. frown  It's a good thing I had my little mini-adventure to the flea market yesterday.  If the people in Arizona and Nevada want some of this cool water they can come get it. enlightened

I'm getting all giddy and wiggly about my upcoming maxi-adventure to the symphony on Thursday in the completely rebuilt new Amphitheater.  I hope it doesn't rain.  The amphitheater is open but covered, but it's a long walk across the town to get to it.  I usually arrive two hours early to make sure I get a parking spot close to the gates.  Then browse the bookstore, have an ice cream sundae, sit in the park and watch the kids and people then toddle off toward the amphitheater.

...yikes!  13:50 and already 101° in the 'hood with the hottest part of the day yet to come.

Even with the AC running, it's 80° inside.  Time to shut the 'puters down so they don't overheat and look for a place that serves tall cold drinks for the rest of the afternoon. Relief on the way tomorrow, back down to the upper 70s.

Thanks. Luckily the GPU worked with Iray right out of the box. Picked up Afterburner so I could monitor the temp. So far 64 C is the hottest it has run. smiley

...that's pretty good for a notebook. Mine was always in the 70sC to near 80°C and that was with the old Intel GM45 video chipset.

Check your available VRAM to see if W10 is reserving a portion of it (you can do so simply opening the Daz programme then viewing at the logfile).

..OK 102° outside 81° inside, time to spare the hardware from overheating and head off in search of tall refreshing drinkies with umbrellas in them.

    Be back later tonight.

...well topped out at 104° in the hood.  Actually "officially" hit 100° at the airport (where only coyotes, raccoons and aeroplanes reside).  Yeah, spent the day enjoying many tall cool drinks.  The local pub I usually hang out at held a "patio party" with cool drinks booze slushies (frozen margaritas) and fun things ike leis squrit guns, and beach balls.  They also had one of those misting systems which felt great to sit under.   Spent way too much (well for me) but had a great time.

The only downside was when I took the bus to get a pizza as the house was still to hot for cooking (the pizzeria down the road has a special on small 2 topping pies right now) because it took much longer than scheduled for the bus I was waiting for to get back home. When it finally arrived it was packed to the front door so I had to wait for the one behind it.   Meanwhile the tracking programme kept ignoring that and the bus behind it only listing times for the much later runs.  Based on that info, I could have almost walked home which would have been a waste of bus fare.

I was never much of a drinker but now I'm almost a teatotaller (my body complains vehemently) but I do remember one very hot summer in Key West, Florida and a bar that helped patrons cool down by having a "Hurricane Party".  They strung sprinkler hoses around the inside of the eaves of the open air interior patio of the bar amongst the palm trees and hibiscus bushes, and installed strobe lights and wind machines.  Does that count?

    Odd.

I only bought one item to spend last years CP coupon and a little bit of free stuff; but I still got the birthday coupon added to my account.

...well big differnce today, about a 20° drop from yesterday.  Still was in the low 80s but felt way more comfortable.

Really wondering of this might not be another summer like we had back in 2009 where we had more than a month of 90°+ temperatrues wich about a week of where it hit or exceeded 100° (we nearly tied the historic all time historic reading of 107° on two consecutive days).  That summer occurred after an equally cold snowy winter and unseasonably cool wet spring like we had this past year.   So far this year we've had 4 days of 90° or above, back in '09 we only had one by this date.  The hottest time of the year here usually doesn't ocur until the last week or so of July into mid August.

    I know it's early but....

Yeah, it seems odd things happen to me all the time.  I don't want to mention it...that feels awkward.  No big deal, I guess.  I don't have money to spend on these things anyway.

A few of us were wondering about him last week.  It was last week, wasn't it?  Someone slow down time, will ya?  It's racing away!

I have a motorcycle that I really want to ride.
After a thunderstorm, it takes about four days for the lakes on my dirt road to dry out enough for me to escape the house.
All month long we've had a thunderstorm every three days or so.
Driving the car just isn't the same.
    So far I hate summer.
And my birthday was also 24 June, and no coupon.

Well ..., if the adage "Time flies when you're having fun." is true then us old people must be having a ball. yes However, I just chalk it up to approaching senility and those afternoon naps add up to me being unconscious more. frown  I measure time in Social Security deposits.  Only 3 more checks until my next colonoscopy.indecision
