It's very rare for better than 70% off unless there's a glitch involved somewhere. Even during the PA sales.
Last year it seems to me that most PA items were about 50% off, with some getting better discounts. However, some items that almost never go on sale do go on sale during the PA sale. The trouble is I had four DAZ pro bundles that would have been 79% off during the 48 hour mega sale if I bought a PC+ membership. That's about $28.35 each for centaurs and Kalea and Kimo. They will probably have similar discounts sometime in the next 2-4 months, but I wanted them now, lol.
This would've been right at 70%. Using my $6 off PA items pushed it more around the 76% range.
I debated on the kadis armor. I didn't like the pauldrons, but like the rest. But decided I wasn't up for $10 for the rest.
The Prep-for sale isn't working right for me. I've got two new releases and 3 items from the featured artist catalogs that should be at 60% off, but they're only showing as 53% and 33% off.
This shows it with PC+ items, which are normally fine as triggers. But I also tried it with regular items and had the same deal.
I do have a boatload of other stuff from the other sale in there. I'll try removing it and seeing if it helps.
For what it's worth, the Kadis armour goes down to $8.98 with 4 qualifying items in your cart. More towards $6 or so if using the PA coupon.
It didn't help. The 8% off gift cards is working though.
Did they vanish already? I"m not seeing anything from Surreality's store. And I unchecked Hide Items I Own.
Oh wait.... I was looking for PC+, not DAZ Originals. Hang on....
My bad... they're not PC+.
Stacking is what you want... If you're PC+ the shared DO/PA items will start with at least 30% off, then stack with any crossover into the banner sales. Always check bundles. There are often mystery discounts that end up making them a real bargain. It's a lot of Jenga to get the best bargain combo. But, it can be fun. Plan on spending a bit extra for the best bargains. Daz works on the "Supersize" model...spend more, get more.
I saved (and spent!) a ton last year in the PA and PC+ sales. There were some really good deals, depending on your interests. A lot of content came over from RDNA throughout the summer and into the PA sale, plus we had Terradome 3. I think Star 2 was right before the PA sale launched. Lots of fun stuff last year. And the PC+ sale was crazy, especially for old stuff. The "Build a Bundle" deals let you get 8 older items for $3, and there were some very good ones to choose from. I'm still finding stuff in my library that I forgot I bought from that sale. It was a blast!
That is my experience also. Hard to get excited about the PA sale as I haven't jumped on the G8 bandwagon yet, so I expect many of the items with be G8 centric.
When I first started buying here about a year and a half ago nearly every sale had stacking discounts. So it trained me to only buy when things got to AT LEAST 75% off in the cart. Getting used to no more stacking has been hard. Definitely hard to get excited about 50% off and 60% off when almost all of my purchase for months and months when I first came here came to like 80% off or more in the cart. I don't buy nearly as much or spend as much as I used to. Having said that though, the PAs probably appreciate that they got rid of the stacking ...maybe? - I wonder if there has been a difference in their incomes since the stacking discounts have been pretty much squished for most sales. Due to the stacking, I ended up getting items I normally wouldn't buy and ended up spending more. I wonder if others did the same and that might affect how much money the PAs make. Hmmmm It would be interesting to get some feedback from some of the PAs on if their monthly incomes have been affected (negatively or positively) since they stopped the stacking for most of the sales.
It's the usual tradeoff of price vs. quantity. Which is better: 100 at $20 each or 20 at $100 each? That case makes no difference, but maybe the volume doesn't change proportionately to price. At half the price, maybe you sell 4 times as many. At a quarter (75% off) maybe you sell 10 times as many. And if someone buys yours, maybe they're not buying someone else's, and vice versa. You'll pay more for certain PA's because you know you get your money's worth, others, maybe not so much. Isn't competition fun?
Ditto. I am not a PA obviously and have only been here since 2016. According to my excel spreadsheet, I have spent 12,020.50 so far and due to sales that reduced within 30 days my true spending were 10,668.63. I am not the only one buying like this on Daz but most of us seldom hit the forums due to time constraints. I have several projects coming up and will be here less in the future. I had someone watching on my behalf for stacking sales but no longer need to watch because stacking sales have dissappeared. The stacking sales influenced my buying decisions based on risk and return ratios. Frankly some of the products I buy at a risk (they don't work as anticipated or are inadequate, uneeded for current projects) but at 80% -90% are worth the risk and worth investing as tools in a tool box for future anticipated projects or endeavours, hobbies whatever. Like you at 60-70 percent I have bought have to get items, but most of my purchases have followed the 80% rule. Since stacking stopped my purchases have certainbly declined and will continue to do so.
"... it trained me to only buy when things got to AT LEAST 75% off in the cart."
I was trained in a similar way, and I only started this March. It's still totally doable, espeially if you have use for older stuff. I thought I'd gotten my best deal back in the Poser Sale, when I got a $50 item for 40 cents, but I managed to top that yesterday. By taking advantage of the gift card sale, Daz esentially PAID me $4.00 to take 4 items off their hands. My final bill, including a $200 gift card plus 4 items was only $196. I have every Pro Bundle I could ever use, and I got them all for $28 or less. I have no doubt that the stacking opportunities of yesteryear were the bomb, but even today, 75% off is pretty easy to manage, especially with a PC+ account.
It's hard to get excited over a gift card offer when once upon a time ofers like this existed. The 300.00 purchase was the gift card.
Now I see what you guys mean. Man, if only I had a time machine...
Still, like I said, it's hard to complain when you can still get items for negative dollars:
Well, right now I regret buying $500 GC with the 8% discount :(. And I've already spent $300 on the G2/G3 Mega Sales.
Seriously ?!! I've been making excuses so I could return the items. You're telling me that I can get a refund for an item just because there is a better price for it now? What a strange and amazing policy they have :))
Within the 30 days tho.
Well, speaking of discount on GC, attached image below was one of my best deals
Last year, discount below 20% was just a "meh" to me, 30% good and 40% awesome lol. This year I havent bought any GC yet
This was on Hiazellll of a sale. Geez! Awesome! Kind of brought me out of buying retirement a bit. I cleaned up on Ironman stuff and non essential clothing. Again, wow!
the gen2/gen3 mega sale goes for two days....i wonder if that means it'll stay there today with no new releases so the PA sale can start tomorrow?
Today's sale isn't even good enough to be described as "meh." Forty percent off Daz Originals? Um, no. Or am I missing something?
Wow. Agreed. Compared to the 'mega sale' this one is pretty bland. Not exciting at all and I'm not tempted.
Plus, the extra 50 cents off (wow really?) the featured PC items isn't working at all.
edit: oh wait. The sale price is already reflected on the page. So a $1.99 old PC item is showing as $1.49.
Yeah, I'm passing on this sale. Not interested.
So if I bought a new release and got a discount for many older items, when I refund that new release item, will they remove all other items within that order, or they will charge me the difference?
I'm not inspired by today's sale, either, especially after getting a $90 cart for $20 yesterday. I only opted to take advantage of re-upping my pc as mine was set to expire in a a couple weeks.
They will charge you the difference unless you specifically tell them to cancel the entire order. Any time you fiddle with the item that causes the discount, it negates the benefits you got from it. So if you have to buy 3 items to get an additional 10 percent discount (for example) if you cancel even ONE of those three, you lose that discount.
