Thought I'd toss this in; think the guy dyes his hair, you can see the roots of his hair and beard coming in

I love that you can see the subdermal details - the veins in his neck is a really great touch! Very cool!

Hey all! I don't think I posted these in this thread, so...

First is a picture in anticipation for Godzilla: King Of The Monsters, and the second is a new poster for my planned Star Trek fancomic, Flight Of The Condor.

    Love the Godzilla one.  Awesome!

Thanks! I have a ton of fanart on my DA page. And I'm currently prepping a Godzilla fancomic called Revenge Of Godzilla.

I'm a big fan of Godzilla and the classic monsters.  I almost baught dragon 3 and the Godzilla add on.  I have a Godzilla like poser character I got free somewhere, but I haven't tried to use it yet.  Might be good for an NPR but maybe not for IRAY.

The Dragon 3 Zilladreki isn't bad at all, but mine is a frankenstein of Valandar's Kaiju, Scott Ayers Final Wars Godzilla(chest and arms), Garee's T Rex Plus backplates(seperated and retextured so I can have them parented to Kaiju and run all the way to the tip of the tail), and the Kaiju addons horns for the sternum ridge, claws and teeth. I also made custom textures to get the scales and keloid scars all over(my Godzilla's skin texture is a blend of the '54's scarred and deformed skin and the 90s Godzilla scales.) And the Rabbit ears for ears.

Have been having more fun rendering scenes with volumetric lighting.  Here's my shot at rendering a dust storm both day and night.

And once again there is no post processing in these renders.  These are raw renders.

Nice, James.  What is the background prop you are using?

I wasn't able to get the necklace positioned any better. It only has the standard X,Y,Z transitions. Since this was just a quick test, I didn't want to fool with it any longer. For a "serious" render I'll use different jewelry. Any suugestions for better placement options with similar props would be welcome. I always consider that there may be methods/tools in Studio that I don't know exist.

I bought the character because the first promo render on the sale page really caught my eye as  being "photographic" (and I'm a long time photographer).

Thanks for the comment. BTW, it's a new fibermesh hair (Sonia from Neftis3D)and I was concerned it would really drag on my GTX 980TI, but didn't seem too bad. Haven't tried any extreme closeups yet.

Here's a quick first studio shot of Damaris for G8F (Renderosity). I was impressed with her promo, so I thought I'd try for myself.

I'm definitely happy with the character.

Gorgeous character and great render! :) The floating neckless is a shame, as it hurts the realism - but other than that it's really beautiful. Nicely done!

That looks great! I like the halo of light around the skyline.

That effect is happening because the building lights are interacting with the sub surface scattering in the volumetric cube the city is sitting in.

And if you can get sufficiently distant from a town/city and have a clear view of it over that distance, at night, it looks very close to that in real life.

And that that is exactly what I was shooting for with the render.

Nice one! The new OOT hair is the most realistic one I've seen yet, I think.

BTW, you should set the width to max 800 (otherwise the mods will do it for you, unsolicited lol).

..nice, like the "ciggie" smoke (one of Ron's Brushes perhaps?).

Thank you. I wasn't planning on getting Dylan, as he is only for G8, and requires M8 to boot. But with all the discounts and such, it cost me a little over $3 more to get the bundle instead of just the hair, and there was no way I was passing up on this hair! It is really great, and I love that it fits two generations and both male and female, "out-of-the-box." However, I did a lot of work modifying one of the alpha maps to get those distinctive gray streaks in his hair.

As for the image properties, width is set to 100%. That way, if someone is viewing on a smart phone, it will size down to match, and in the actual thread, it will never display wiider than 800 pixels. Of course, when it comes up in the comment editor, if you go full screen to edit, it will also size up! Now if we could only get the magicians who support the forum software to hard-code a "max-width=800px" into the Image Properties... lol

Thank you. The smoke is actually from Sy's Rigged Speedy Smoke Iray. The tip of the cigarette has a bit of postwork, though. It looked like plastic!
