Hi Folks I wanted to AGAIN thank all of you who provided GREAT suggestions and information to this "LEARNER". One thing i should point out is that I noticed a lot of back and forth regarding is delight better an Iray. Well being my second year using DAZ I have to say I do like using BOTH formats as both have their merits. Frankly I though it would take forever to render in IRAY, so I tried out a few MINI experiments and was pleasantly surprised by the 2-3 hour wait time. here is one of the renders I did not too long ago using 3D Delight, and one I did using the IRAY RENDER. Yes definately for "more realism" the Iray Render does deliver, but I still like using Delight for its value as well
Nice scene. Keep in mind this is the IRAY render thread.
More fun with enviro plane bg BD taken almost across the street
Hydra
Watched a dino show on Netflix the other day and started playing around with an old scene and some new props/figures/lighting
Been poking at the notion of a set of morphs/textures and maybe a few modeled things centered around an alien planet, named Xerian. Big supercontinent, mostly arid and hot like late Permian.
Currently have a morph/texture for Daz Horse2 and MilDog, plus modeled an alien tree (the grass is just a manipulated sphere with some texture, and then Ultrascatter).
Where is the allosaurus from? This looks really great.
Food Fight
Nice work
Looks interesting
Thanks... I was worried the trees were too symmetric, but the texture really helps break it up.
Thanks! It's a Carnotaurus on the right from here at DAZ and 2 Acrocanthosaurus on the left from my copy of the Primal Carnage Extinction game
Thanks Robert! That was pretty much the focus of the dino show I watched, the biggest dino with the most teeth got the food, LOL
Nice ones with the Hydra. How is it to work with?
That explains the nice textures. Didn't think there had been someone besides Hoffmeyer putting out a bunch of new dino models but I was hoping.
Cool Mike I am anjoying what I can do with enviro plane save lots $$ fom buying HDRI's and instant render times
Fairly easy to work with took longer to get G8 tweaked and in positon still not satisfied with her
Have you tried rotating the hydra a bit more towards her? Right now it looks like they're looking behind her
I'll give that a try
It's been a long time since I messed around in Daz. Marcelo Character for G8 by Virtual World.
Better?
Back to school
Much! The Hydra looks spot on now, and it makes her pose work much better too. The only thing pose related I might change is to bring her front foot back (or forward, depending on which way you want her to be moving) a little and make her more up on those toes, she's at a bad angle to push off for an attack or retreat with that foot that flat and the knee/calf/thigh at such a perfect 90 degree angle. Pushing off hard from that angle is a great way to blow out a knee/hamstring, and will leave her off balance no matter what.
Bond james bond..
...this is really good, I particularly like the lighting
I took some background pictures while out for a walk today. This is one with the Catalyzer Bison and some Sycamore leaves from the DAZ Trees.

Nice
Yeppers fast times with pic backdrops and make for great poor man's DOF
Very realistic render, and convincing. Looks just like the bison was actually in this location when you took the background picture. I have tended to move away from background pictures in favour of HDRI's but seeing this, think I should revisit the idea.
Found this boat searching my library and I couldn't help to test it.
Two more of the Hydra I tweaked G8s pose
i'm probably done with this one for now as the parts for the threadripper are almost all here so I can start building
Looks great! And pulling the camera back like that made a big difference too, I like!
