Still trying my luck with an underwater scene. used a fog cube to try and make it murky. not what I was going for 100%, but I still liked it anyway.

Nice one, underwater scenes are not the easiest ones to get right...

Yeah, I hear ya. Been struggling to get a good underwater base scene for lots of underwater ideas I have.

Came across this little critter on the trail as I rode down to the lake this morning:

Wanted to include a DOF effect on the ground/background - not sure I like how it rendered in Iray. I do like the way the HDRI lit the critter, though.

...so for Genesis decimation is not required then. OK so that is good. Yeah more prone to work with Unity instead of Blender as the UI is similar to Daz's. Yeah, not even interested in messing with Octane as I never will be able to afford it.

Octane in Unity is free. Right now is is just a renderer but eventually it will be extended into a 'realtime' game engine renderer, sort of like the upcoming Blender eevee 'realtime' renderer. 'Realtime' isn't really the right word, it's more like a 'much-faster' biased but still plausibly close to realistically rendered rendering engine.

The "realtime" renderer will not doubt be Brigade, which sounds like it will be realtime at  about 30-60 frames per second (depending on the scene).

Yep. That's what i'm waiting for and better mobile HW being strong enough to handle it being commonplace.

In a forum post over at Otoy, they mentioned that Brigade will be included free for licensed Octane 3 users, so it's very possible it will be available when it's released in DS via the plugin.

Thanks Ivy. Think I screwed up on the ground texture scale, though - world's smallest beaver! lol

I like the contrast of your lighting and the skin looks natural. (A bit dark, but still natural.)

  • FSMCDesigns nonesuch00 Thanks ^^

Thanks, L'Adair.  It didn't seem quite so dark when I was working on it, but it seemed darker once I uploaded it to the gallery.  That is a flaw of mine that I will have to work on.  I need to possibly use levels to brighten things up just a tad and see how I do with that.

Here's my first G8M render (OK, it's my second because this the same as my first but with a DOF adjustment)
G8M + G8F + the old Hot Tub set (with the water plane replaced with a cube using a water shader)

Cool stuff. Im in a big re organize of content.I have been using V4 and gen 1 for the most part but then did something with G3 and realized I really like the newer gen stuff. With 8 being here phasing out V4 and gensis 1. I believe there are tutorials to transfer V4 to genesis 2 and or 3 without needing genx if someone would be so kind to point out the links thanks!
