I just presume that everyone ignores me. Why assume the forums are any different than at home? :)

    Kendall

Bingo; I'm sure my posts are ignored a lot, but I don't think anyone's felt the need to put me on a list -- they just skip over my posts, probably shaking their heads as they do so. wink

I appreciate the well-wishes (been feeling a bit stressed out/down lately). But I was actually a little more curious about how many people ignore people I ignore. ;)

How about a new cool feature, like "You ignored XY. Other people also ignored these:" :D

Not ignoring anyone around here. It takes _a lot_ for me to do that, which rarely happens, but it happens once in a while.
I doubt you will ever be amongst them, timmins. ;)

edit: too. hot. can't. type. straight.

Hmmm, I only ignore you when you are saying something over my head.  I'm not the most technically inclined person.  I don't for the rest of it.  So, I'd say I only ignore you about half the time. wink

Yes, I can see how that feature would make excellent gossip fodder. devil

It's hard to ignore someone on these forums. They are heavily moderated and all is smiles and rainbow between users.

I do admit I miss some degree of harsh/bad critics when posting a render. I find it more constructive that way, and I can't stand soft skins personally. Maybe because I have always had a poisonous tongue.

    It's a nice community anyway.

  • No I never ignore you. You have been very helpful to me with your various threads and posts.

I don't have anyone on my ignore list as it's easy enough just to avoid reading posts once you seen it's about something that is going to annoy you. Ignore lists are silly really.

And you cane to the fourms for validation? Don't you have a family for that, LOL

I don't think it's a good idea to publicly tell us who you ignore, so we might never find this out... :)

With how overly sensitive and moody artists types are, probably not a good idea to call anyone out here. I frequent a gaming forum and they have a deal where you can basically call out the type of post, funny, agree, disagree, stupid, idiotic, etc in the form of a small icon at the bottom of the post. While kind of a childish thing, it can be pretty funny when someone posts a really stupid post like asking for warez models or something and you can then see that most of the foum hit the stupid or idiotic icon, LOL.

I'm pitching fastball and no ones swinging, some of my top-shelf zingers have dried up posts so I'm convinced most, or likely all of you are ignoring me.

I got more haters than scrappy doo up in this piece.

NOBODY has more haters than Scrappy Doo. Proof? They made him the Big Bad of the Scooby Doo movie, and you didn't see a SINGLE complaint about "That movie mocks/destroys/ruins my childhood memories!" or the like. :D

And a lot of us cheered when that happened... Scrappy's definitely one of the least liked characters in the history of television, though he does have a few rivals as "the least liked".  I'd certainly put Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch in the same category, along with Wesley Crusher from Star Trek TNG, "Jai" from the old Tarzan TV series, and the entire "new" second season supporting cast of Mork & Mindy.   .

"Oh shut up, Wesley!" Love that meme.

    Sorry, but so this.

I really like the community, but I strongly dislike that I have to censor myself when writing here, just to be sure I don't step on any moderators toes, which I tend to do very easily, because of me being me. That's why I prefer not to engage too much around here, yet I do it from time to time, like today.

  • Since the Ignore function doesn't remove their posts from search results, it's useless to me.  I tried ignoring BeeMKay so his german translation of sales would get out of my search results when I'm trying to look up product information, but it still fills up half the page.

Hah!  I just watched that episode yesterday on Netflix!

I didn't realize you could ignore people on here.  I pretty much try to learn from everyone... but I do sometimes feel like I'm a thread-killer...  sad  Maybe it's just coincidence...

I want to ignore the complaint thread for similar reasons

any search results gets pages of quote in quotes from that thread esp on Google site search

I get my posts deleted all the time by the moderators. I disagree most of the time they do that not all the time. I don't know or care if those get posts of mine get deleted because someone flagged the post(s) or some anonymous forum members are trying to establish a pecking order and are trying to make me angry. I just think of better ways to word my disagreements in future posts.

Cousin Oliver was probably most hated by the acne "blessed", puberty frustrated Mike "Bobby Brady" Lookland who he replaced, but Wesley was right up there with the salt monster from TOS. I do have to hand it to Wheaton, he has one of the most wonderful blogs on the Internet, he's a bona fide nerd (he was one of the developers for the Amiga Video toaster 4000) and he has a really good sense of humor when it comes to what Roddenberry pre-approved for him week after week, but it was bad enough that I could not watch him and Pat Stewart in the same scene when TNG aired.

If Will Wheaton was on this forum I would not ignore him.

  • I didn't know there was an ignore function either... I can't think of anyone I dislike enough to ignore here.  I don't mind a spirited civil discussion, and I don't generally dislike people I disagree with.  Would be most boring if everyone agreed with everyone else lol.  I am certainly not ignoring you Will and while some of your posts are still a wee bit over my head I still learn a great deal.  I don't always necessarily agree with your opinion on everything but that's perfectly okay, I don't have to agree with someone all the time to like them and value their advice and direction.

And I don't think I want to know if anyone is ignoring me either, I think my feelings would probably be hurt.  And then I would get mad at myself for caring lol.

He had a good role in The Guild... delightfully wicked... or should I say.. Anarchist?  haha

I found Wesley pretty annoying as well, although paradoxically he was one of the stars of two of my favorite episodes from the series (the one where people are being brain-washed by those head phone things, and the one where his mother is left on a slowly disappearing Enterprise).

    Greetings,

I do use the ignore feature, but only for one person at this point.  It takes a lot, like...nothing constructive over weeks of posting, and constantly hating on everything, and shocking amounts of entitlement and 'I know better than everyone' for me to throw up my hands and give up.  I still see their original topics in the list, unfortunately (weird lack-of-feature), but their posts in any given topic are minimized.  I *could* expand them, but trying a few times has taught me the wisdom of trusting the collapsed box.

I don't ignore the OP, and I haven't added anybody to my ignore in a really long time.  That said, a few times when major changes hit the store and forums, I had a slightly larger ignore list, because some folks would complain about the same thing in EVERY thread, and that just got tiring.  Eventually it calmed down, and I relaxed the list.

Seriously, the point of an ignore list is to save your own sanity.  Nobody will save it for you.  Killfiles were in extremely common usage on Usenet, and frankly all forums are just reimplementations of Usenet anyway...

If the thread is such a nusiance to people, I can ask the mods to delete it. I won't be able to make translations anyway for some time, due to time constraints.

Ignore people? I don't need a forum toggle for that - I just skip over the blathering. If a forum thread goes south I quit reading it.

Even in the great genesis/studio 4.0/Poser tirades I didn't see any reason to put anyone on ignore.

  • same here i love seeing what you have to say

I will never ignore anyone in these forums and certainly not you. wink

I must admit I've been tempted to do so for someone who wrote in this thread but in the end I didn't because in my opinion everyone is entitled to give his opinion even when I think it is biased.
