All eight Japanese dishes have finally arrived! Are there more? I tested the second set, and it worked very well. It's interesting that the food's texture changes are represented by "Morphs" instead of making a props.

I really like this series; the effects are great and it's very practical. Whether it's food, buildings, or clothing, I almost exclusively buy products that "contain transformation mods" now. I already have a ton of those "just for show" products. But I'll definitely collect the entire food series. It would be perfect if there were mods for serving food with utensils and mods for taking a bite out of food. I suggest PA could add add-on products. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the next food series. I wonder which country's cuisine it will be?

if you could only buy one, which set do you like the best? Is there one that stands out as more realistic or better morphs, better textures, or all they all about equal?

Adding steam to the hot pot dish would make it look so much more delicious!

I only own Volume 2, but I will prioritize buying Volume 1, 7, and 8 next. I think the quality of Volume 2 is already top-notch, and Volume 1 should have the same quality. It has three transforming sliders mainly to make height changes, and the food in the pot will make appropriate displacement changes according to the height position.

The ones that feature brothy dishes generally look good. The ones focusing on solid foods look kind of repulsive in close-up (though they may be fine at a reasonable distance)

https://www.daz3d.com/super-fit-poses-and-outfit-for-genesis-9-feminine I like this. Functional outfit (I think, not a gym person myself, but it looks like it to me) and proper poses with no 'I'm sexy, look at me!' element. Will wishlist it for eventual conversion.

And forgot to mention this one https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-ly-no-sweat-outfit-for-genesis-9 wishlisted as well

They are very uneven, and if you're not actually familiar with any of  the dishes, I strongly suggest you google them and do a side by side comparison to make your own judgement.  To my eye, Volume 1 was probably the best overall, as it's a bunch of soup/stew-like dishes where one expects the colors to be muddled and the detail to be buried under liquid.  The worst of the collection, IMHO, is in Volume 3, where the where the casings of the stuffed squid looks less  like the top half of a real animal and more like fake squids made of plastisol (the stuff rubbery fishing lures are made of). As someone who's spent a lot of time in Japan over the years, I was initially excited about this product line, but lost interest quickly, I'm afraid.

So far I have bought sets 1 and 2 and find them quite good.
I think the noodle dishes from sets 6, 7 and 8 look good too, and I'll likely buy them next though I'm less convinced about the rice dishes from the same sets.
