I like your Catalympics better than my Catlympics, so I am going to switch. And it goes better with Catalonia (thanks background). Catalympics is easier to say and read. Spell checker still doesn't like it, though. Stupid forum spell checker.
Too pedantic by half, most spell-checkers. Or maybe my typing just drives them up the wall.
I didn't think you used spell checkers!
Ah well, you can't blame me for trying. And anyway, sooner or later Lola might want to join in, even if it's just to encourage Richard to keep up the training!
Well, not here because they don't work - unless you flip to Source mode, but then it takes exception to all the HTML.
Enable SCAYT works, but Check Spelling locks up and I lose everything I have typed.
there has been a spate of delivery drivers stealing cats
better keep Richard inside
I don't think anyone can keep Richard inside or out of trouble. It is his nature. Perhaps those cats were just looking for adventure and hitched a ride on the delivery van.
caught on security cameras sadly only one found in UK where the driver kept it and microchip betrayed him at vet
a dog was found in aniother town and the speculation is they play a sick game dumping them elsewhere
one driver killed a 7 year old girl he snatched delivering her Barbie dolls
people are sick
anyway getting off topic now, sorry
I shop exclusively with Amazon. Amazon delivers most of my orders.
Sometimes they ship products in boxes, sometimes in plastic bags.
Sometimes there are boxes within bags.
Headline: Catalympic hopeful slams box shifter for not shifting a box. "My dreams are in tatters" he said "much like that bag will be when I get my claws into it!" He added "Don't they realise how important boxes are to us? That's why the winner always stands on the biggest box at the end of the competition."
I'm guessing you had an 'angry cat' pose and couldn't resist. He's so mad he's hopping from foot to foot, or should that be paw to paw.
Or bags within boxes.
Excellent interview with the Catalympic hopeful. I don't know what a box shifter is. Is that a box shipper? The pose was labeled as a walking pose, but the expression certainly looked angry to me. You really nailed it with the winners box comment!
In the UK at least, a 'box shifter' is a name often given to a company that doesn't manufacture products, but instead buys products from other manufacturers and then sells them on to customers. Sometimes they will have their own box design which might give the impression that they manufactured the item. So they receive boxes, store them in huge warehouses, and send out boxes basically. They can be useful if a customer prefers to deal with one supplier rather than multiple suppliers. Sometimes they sell products cheaper because they get a discount from buying in bulk, also they can give a manufacturer access to many more potential customers, than the manufacturers own small website.
It's strange with cats that even if you only put a sheet of paper on the floor, the cat will sit on it, as if it elevates them, even slightly, above the rest of the floor.
In the US, I had never heard that term. Thanks for the explanation.
Box-shifters also usually implies they just take the boxes in and send them out from a warehouse, no retail stores or additional services.
That almost sounds like Amazon to me.
I'm sure any similarity is purely coincidental.
I say thank goodness he didn't post it earlier. Leopards can be cheetahs in the Catalymplics.
That brings up another good question. Which types of "cats" are allowed to participate in the Catalympics? Are there separate competitions for different cat types? If not, I think the cheetahs are always going to win any distance running speed competition, without even "cheetahing". Richard would be at an unfair disadvantage.
Maybe they have different classes, as with sailing boats (hmm, I might have an advantage in water sports).
Yes, you are an Excellent Swimmer now. Wouldn't it be surprising to see a water sports competition at the Catalympics? Anything could happen I guess. You haven't received the official Catalympics Guide to Competitions yet. I'm anticipating the Curtain Climb, the Surface Sweep, and the Carpet Clawing, as I have seen mentioned in the Catalympics Training Guide, that I got a sneak peak at (as in that I authored).
And to think that ALL of this started from a simple comment you made about moonlighting as a French onion seller because of your stripes. How did we get here? That's the fun of having not planning ahead and going with the flow.
We don't want any competitors eating other competitors, at least during an event. It creates an awful mess, and a huge pile of paperwork, although it might make some of them run faster.
How about the 'Not being seen' challenge, and the 'Ball of wool tangle'.
The ball of wool tangle is fairly obvious, the 'not being seen challenge' involves contestants hiding under, inside, or behind succesively smaller objects.
There is alkso Cat Chess, as invented by Terry Pratchett and enhanced by Diane Duane.
Did anyone else notice this in the Steampunk Alley promos? Fits in well with all these deliveries. Wonder if he gets preferential rates?
I didn't see that! The promos were so dark and hazy, I didn't spend much time looking at them. Good catch.
I thought the ship had already sailed for this thread?
to be perfectly honest me either
I cut myself more than the box
at work we had safe box currers we couldn't stab each other with
