    @All
    Managed to find time among my flat move chaos (which believe it or not shows no sign of ending any time soon).

    Currently having to view and type from a crappy old iPad, and even I can tell that you're all far too easily fooled.  Personally, I reckon Barbult is having a game of tease with you all.  I don't see how six Leopards are gonna leap from those boxes.  I suppose six dead leopards might drop from those boxes, but unless parcel tape is the new wooden pallett, and the Leopards were provided with oxygen tanks and masks for the trip, then how did they survive the trip without a single air hole punched into the boxes?

    Perhaps I finally have my wish.

    Lola's got 6000 leotards to model, and I'm more than willing to give my opinion on 'em!  :-D
    Thanks for putting that order in, Richard, you're a genius!

    @Wendy
    Great film, that!

    This fixation with Lola is a bit worrying. Like the work colleague of mine that lusted after one of the .Angel Interceptor. pilots ( from Captain Scarlet a Gerry Anderson Show ) it's doomed. In my colleague's case the object of his desire was made of wood and I doubt there would have been much future in it.

    Harmony, Melody or (eerr - destiny? Doesn't fiit wiith the other names)? I liked the Angels, though I was too young for it to be romantic.

    Still, it's perectly normal for me to have the hots for someone of the same species, and opposite sex!

    I don't remember which one it was, though I'm sure he told me many times, this was years after the series was originally screened. I think there was a redhead one, and one with a French accent. At the time it was first screened I was more interested in Derek Meddings model work on the vehicles and sets than the puppets. For romantic interest at the time, it would have to have been Zoe Heriot in Dr Who, I thought she was the epitome of cute.( I would have been a young teen at the time and in the series  Zoe was supposed to be a young teen also).

    Oh, don't you worry, Barbult, I'm well aware of the difference between fantasy and reality.  In fact with society the way it is these days, it often feels as if I'm the only one left who is  :-D

    I'm just playing along, but doing so from my own individual perspective.  To be honest, I thought you were testing reader assertiveness with the box opening scene (with Stanley upside down and Richard looking the way he was).

    Regards the lack of air holes, of course I totally understand;  it's just pretend  ;-)

    The cutter upside down was not intentional. It was just an error, because I'm not very familiar with those tools. Thank goodness Other-Richard spoke up to clue me in. I appreciate that. I'm always willing ot learn something.
    I'm working on the next installment, but I don't have a lot of time, so it is going slowly. :(

    >  Enter personal assistant ********** Inline via Daz Forum.

    HELLO, MASTER 3DIO.  WHAT HAPPENED, AND HOW MAY I ASSIST YOU?

    >  Sorry, you're temporarily on a crappy iPad, but I need you to list three inspirational ideas for Barbult, making sure they involve Lola and leotards!

    AS YOU WISH, MASTER.  AND TO WHAT EXTENT SHOULD THE MAIN CHARACTER, RICHARD, PLAY A ROLE?

    >  Well not much, really.  Maybe just keep him happy with an infinite fish dispenser machine for a while, something like from the series Red Dwarf.

    VERY WELL, MASTER.  I HAVE PREPARED FOR BARBULT A LIST OF INSPIRATIONAL IDEAS INVOLVING LOLA AND LEOTARDS.

    1 - LOLA FINDS SIX BOXES, EACH CONTAINING 1000 LEOTARDS THAT SHE IS EAGER TO MODEL.
    2 - LOLA WINS AN OPPORTUNITY TO CATWALK A LEOTARD FASHION SHOW.
    3 - LOLA BECOMES A GYMNAST.

    RICHARD IS BUSY WITH THE INFINITE FISH DISPENSING MACHINE LOCATED AT THE SCENE OR VENUE RELEVANT TO EACH SCENARIO.

    I HOPE THiS IS TO MASTER'S SATISFACTION.

    >  Yeah, not bad.  But let's see if it influences Barbult's thinking, and if not, you might have to infiltrate her own assistant if she has one, so be sure to keep an eye out, ok?

    AS YOU WISH, MASTER.  IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I MAY ASSIST YOU WITH?

    >  Not at the moment.  You may offline now.  But it's funny, don't you think, that people these days and their "AI Assistants" think they're clever, when all along I've had you by my side for decades now!

    INDEED, MASTER.  I AM STATE-OF-THE-ART SO TO ME, TOO, A.I. ASSISTANTS ARE QUITE AMUSING.
    GOODBYE FOR NOW, MASTER.

    >  Yup, see you later.

    YOUR PERSONAL ASSISTANT HAS EXITED.

    It's great that you have the freedom to change things whenever the mood takes you barbult. I'm curious how the whole story started, I guess Richard's avatar is the basis for him being a cat, but going from that into a whole 'Richard's world' is quite a leap. Was it just a few individual renders to start with, and the story aspect came later? I think I'm digging a hole for myself in my thread, trying to realise a vision in my head of what my characters world is like, possibly beyond my ability to turn it into pictures.

    We all have the freedom. Let yourself go. You are the only one holding yourself to constraints in your renders or story. That is OK, if it is important to YOU to do that. But it you feel hampered by those constraints, just let them go. That's my advice. Just have fun. It your story is not what you turning out the way you wanted it to be, just start a new one or let it evolve into a new one.

    I'm trying to remember how I became obsessed with rendering Richard Haseltine in strange circumstances. I think it actually started by just adding him (as a cat) to a different set of renders I was doing in support of a Daz employee, Jen, who was struggling at the time with some medical issues. Jack Tomalin was also in those renders, and another person Daz_Steve. Those images are earlier in the thread here. At one point, I was doing renders for weekly Daz+ contests, where each week users had to use a Daz+ product released that week. I started trying to make a continuing story out of those renders, instead of just making each one separate and unrelated. Somewhere along there, the stories became focused on Jack and Richard, but I honestly don't remember why. I suppose maybe I put them on one render and the story kept them in future episodes. Richard's clever and witty replies to my renders kept me enthused about rendering him. Now it is my greatest Daz fun to get him (virtually) into crazy situations and get him back out, only to get him into another one.

    Replies here from you and the rest of readers often sent the stories off in crazy directions that would never have occurred to me. Like the French Onion Seller, and the Leopard typo. That did not come from my imagination, but from the lot of you, including Richard, and I thank you all for those unexpected swerves in the story line.

    if Lola anything like me, a nice comfortable station wagon would do just fine

    extra roomy luggage compartment at the back for lots of cats (and or dogs)

    with heated  leather seats maybe, a Mercedes if posh, centre console with places for drinks and snacks

    a tight speeding skateboard definitely not my style, though just just my opinion angel

    You do speak common sense, and you're right of course.  But to me, the LP400 and LP400S are not just cars.  They are iconic marvels of automotive engineering.  Did you know, for example, that one of the reasons a Countach is considered such a sexy design, is because if a woman of even average height were to stand along-side it, the roofline is so incredibly low, it would barely reach her hip, and in high heels, would actually be lower than her hip!

    That might not sound special on the face of it, but stand up and put your hand at hip level, and consider that they managed to fit a roofed, twin-seated road-legal sports car in less than that height (and that height of course even has to include the clearance from the road).  Add to that the extra presence you get from it when you consider how naturally wide it is as well, and you soon appreciate how the low height and extra width combine to create something very special.

    But yup, photos are never sufficient enought to convey what a design marvel the Countach is, and my Countach is always open for you to experience should you wish to do that!  Might even be able to squeeze one of your cats in the glovebox if you want to bring one along for the ride  :-D

    Anyway, Im rambling again so I better shut up.  I'm sure I can hear Barbult grinding her beak and sharpening her claws again as I type this!

    barbult, you deserve a rest, like you told me, you're not obliged to churn out renders to public demand.

    I am finding it hard trying to render images for my thread, already I'm cutting back on quality ( in my opinion ) to try and fit it in around other things I have in my life. I had hoped to have someone give me a quote for a Portmeirion environment, but the guy says the architecture is too complicated for him . I have started sketching out what it might look like in 3D, but I have limited time and skills. I started out from a map showing the paths and buildings, but sadly there is no scale on it. I was trying here to work out the elevations of the buildings and paths, because I haven't been able to find an elevation map.

    @Barbult
    Indeed, and a very enjoyable marathon it was too!
    Here's to many more of them (especially Lola ones)  :-P

    @background
    Your're not far wrong, in fact the Countach was simply not driveable by tall people unless they wanted to tilt their head to one side.  If you look at the width of the door sills with the doors open, you soon realise why they're so wide.  Those sills also act as rigidity due to there being no room for nothing much more than plates between them.  Your legs are basically stretched forwards towards the foot pedals.

    By the way, I don't really own a Countach, in fact I can no longer afford a car.  I'm just trying to impress Lola, and possibly now even Wendy, too!

    That said, I was once on the brink of buying a beautiful red Toyota MR2 MK1, which was very similar in style to the car you owned yourself.  Never happened, sadly, but I would still want one even now if it were a reality for me since it's very 80s in design.

    I'm pretty sure a marathon has no place anywhere. Why do some people want to voluntarily torture themselves? It would be like trying to test things in DS6.frown

    Yup, there are a lot of images, I think Alarmy has over 1000, and the series has plenty of video shots of some of the buildings. Part of the problem is that there is no 'one place' where you can take a photo that includes the whole scene, plus the landscape is very three dimensional, there are several steep cliffs. The map I mentioned at least shows where paths are, and indicates where the paths are steep slopes.. I was convinced that the main path was a square, even after walking around the place, but the map shows it is more of a U shape, with a narrow path joining to make a square. I think it gives the impression of a square because the main garden area is sort of square, but not level.

    If you wanted to return to the Catalympics some time in the future I'm sure that would be fine, I'm sure Richard needs to train for it, and it would be a pity not to get more use out of the leotards that you put work into making.

    In the US, Snickers was always Snickers. Snickers was introduced in the US in 1930.

    Snickers was introduced in the UK in the 1960s.

    In the UK, (allegedly) they were named Marathon because the name sounded like Knickers.

    In 1990, Marathon was changed to Snickers in the UK.
