It was a figure of speech. No girl, woman, would wear this outside of the house. It's ridiculous, but it seems to be the norm nowadays.

You haven't been to many anime or sci-fi conventions, have you? That outfit's actually rather tame when compared to some of the things I've seen young folks parading around in at anime cons, and every year there are a couple of folks at the San Diego comic con wearing nothing but a c-string and bodypaint... And yes, I use folks because it's both male and female, though the majority are female.

And that's before we get into the uniforms worn by the wairtstaff at some restaurants. The "regular" outfits are skimpy enough, but they're currently doing Beanies and BIkinis this week at the Twin Peaks near me, and every Wednday is Lingerie Day...

So, while I'll agree that these aren't outfits that most people would wear, there's almost always somebody out there who will.

I don't really get out much but obviously others get out less obviously btw guess never seen Married With Children or a lot of other shows/movies either or been to Australia and some other places and like you said conventions

oh btw when I went to high school the girls wore school uniform many were that short AND now days see females of different ages yes older women too around town still wear skirts that short and other revealing clothing

Of course and the Kardashians all have an IQ over 150.

It's from yesterday, but I really like Sigurd Hair for G9. The only thing making me dubious is that there isn't any way to pose the hair: no dForce, and no morphs from what I can see.

I bought it yesterday and just had a quick look, there are several bones for the tail and for the left and right bangs.

I like the cat expressions. Some of them look quite realistic, admittedly others don't, but they're the best to date and I think the issues are more of a limitation of 3DCat models than the expressions. Cats are really hard to model accurately because they are just so fluid in the ways they move.

    Regards,

    Richard

to be honest cats and dogs can be very weird both in posing and expressions and how they act love watching funny cat dog videos my various cats and dogs I've had have been nutters

Yes, I also like them, too.

Wonder if anybody has bought them and can share some renders made with them.

So I tried the expressions out on DAZ House Cat and built a scene. Imagine you are getting ready for a date, walk back into your bedroom to get dressed and the lovely OOT sweater you were going to wear is now on the floor with your best friend, the CAT having made it his/her new snuggle blanket. The grin and half-closed eyes express their love of you for buying them this great item.

A $200 external tool from a new PA is hard ask.

He does have a youtube channel with a preview that I'm watching right now, and he's made about 20 videos in total about it already. I think for $5 this could be a steal.

    https://www.youtube.com/@EZ3DTV/streams

Not very impressed with the videos, the product, or the creator. His videos are extremely long and he rambles on forever before actually starting to demonstrate anything... at 13 minutes into the first one with a lot of rambling and complaining about losing two of his hard drives with not a single thing demonstrated, I flicked it off, splurged the $5, downloaded it and pulled up the manual.  My initial impressions, albeit just from reading the first few pages, are not great:

First problem - it seems the product is designed to work with a single library.. to quote: "If you have customized your Daz Library install locations of items you may have unpredictable results from EZFinder," and it has to be in the default C drive position.  So, no guarantee that it wil work properly or at all with the multiple libraries that many of us maintain, and it only works for that single a single instalalation of DS, so there goes any use with dual installations of beta versions,

Second,) it's built around SmartContent, not the actual library.  That one was a killer for me right there...

Third, when he talks about handling thousands of items, it seems that he's talking about each individual item within a product as a seperate item rather than overall products.  That would shrink all the advertised numbers down by at least a factor of ten.

Fourth, when talking about librariy size, he notes that a "VERY large library of 500,000+ items" will require 5 GB+ of additional storage to handle all of the additional files the program generates

On the positive side, the other utilities mentioned do seem to be included as scripts.

Summary: it seems to be an entry level product, possibly useful for casual users or newbies.  The individual scripts may be useful, but it's definitely not the cat's pajamas.

Yeah, I had the same feelings about it after watching some videos. I passed on it. I don't even want something so complex, I just want a better version of Taoz's Product Manager for Daz, but one that will only scan installed content and allow me to search meta data. A visual viewer of all my installed content from Daz, Renderosity, Renderhub, wherever. The current Product Manager has to log in and it doesn't have a good enough search function. It's still the best thing available though and its free. I paid for it when it was for sale, I would pay for it again if it was updated with those functions.

I've needed this for so long! I would have to load a top with square shoulders, geo edit the bottom, hide the top, then collide it with the jacket I wanted. Now I need a G8 version please! SY Cloth Shoulder Fixer Genesis 9

Okay, I like the character: Lucas for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D

But seriously? "Ideal for characters in their 30s or early 40s"

Well, I would put +20 years to that.

  • I have a feeling the 'in their 40's' would be right for settings based in the 1940's, but contemporary people seem to be aging more slowly than that, by about 20 years. Regards, Richard

I've been searching for Jinyiwei (Imperial Guard) costumes for ages, and I never expected to find them here! It's an incredibly cool period costume, with so many exquisite accessories, including intricate dragon patterns and even a sword. I usually don't buy new items on release day, but I really want to buy it right now.

I took off my tokens I had applied and that item came to $9.40. Think of that as a long-awaited sale down the road. Now this is with a number of new items in my cart also. I also used 6 tokens and had it down to $6.86. I totally agree with you on how lovely and detailed that costume is.

I'm pretty confused as to why Daz has recently released characters called "Sophia for Genesis 9" and "Lucas for Genesis 9", given that "Sophia 9" and "Lucas 9" have been out as core characters for over a year.

Just seems like that's asking for confusion regarding customer support tickets and pre-requisite products.

I'mma just put it out there that I'm definitely past that age bracket, wear zero makeup, have the perpetual exhaustion look of a mom of a special needs kid who needs 24/7 care, and I /still/ look younger than that.

I have been looking, not always getting the series of characters offered and I have the feeling that they are to be considered base characters to be tweaked for background usage as we need. They seem to come with various DAZ skins and brows. With morphs, LIE makeups, other character skins that many of us have accumulated this late into G9 we can play with them.

As to Lucas for Genesis 9, the name threw me. I have Lucas 9 and maybe I don't go out much anymore, but 'Lucas' just seems like a guy's name. On the other hand I have been reading and re-reading the books by K.B. Wagers and their use of 'they/them' is frequent and pronounced. And Lucas for Genesis 9 struck me in that vein. It may have been the clothing selected for the main promo image, but I still am think of they/them now, not 'her' or 'him'.

As I entered Darius for Genesis 9 into my chart of characters, I realized I had not bought Darius 9, so I went looking for one of my favorite DO characters and found that he had never been released for G9. It also looks like Monique 9 has been skipped over as well. Again, another character series by DO I loved.

There were indeed no "Darius" or "Monique" for G9.

Angela is likely the G9 successor to Monique. For males, I think Harlow is the most similar to the Darius characters.

Well, technically it's that there are no Darius or Monique 9 YET, as DAZ is still cranking out new base figures at a stupid pace so there's always a possibility that they'll show up.  That said, G9 seems to have abandoned a lot of the classic character names beyond Michael and Victoria, with Teen Josie becoming just Josie 9 and the venerable Aiko 9 reduced to a premier only add-on.

They're not.  A Gamekeeper works with wildlife, while a gamesman is someone who competes in competitions of skill.  Given that the set includes a shotgun, I suspect the name was meant to imply that the outfit is for someone who competes in skeet or clay pigeon shooting., though since there are no skeets included, it feels like the implications of the name weren't really thought out that well.

I want to send a huge THANK YOU to Mada for the Formal Tailcoat for G9! I was complaining a little while back about there being no tuxedo with tails for G9, and now I have this set, which is 100% perfect for what I need! I did a little happy dance when I saw it in my Daz email this morning. Instant buy!

You're a rock star, Mada! heart
