You can't hotlink from the gallery any more. They changed the way it serves images, and the links now expire after only a few minutes.

(I am still very cross about this; it's broken years and years of forum threads.)

So, how do I add an image to a forum post? I've tried doing it via the little image icon but when I add it does load.

This is pretty https://www.daz3d.com/dna-ines-dforce-dress-for-genesis-9 If anyone who gets it for G9 would be kind enough to see if it converts nicely to G8.1F I would appreciate it.

But don't delete the attachment afterwards, the inline version is pointing to it.

  • AM's Bald Eagle looks amazing. Perfect for an UltraScenery (1,2 or XT) scene. Just perfect catching something from the water.

This is not so much about a new release but about the return of images from the gallery. I was looking at https://www.daz3d.com/hanako-9-voluptuous-shape-add-on and noticed that there were 4 icons noted and clicked on it and instead of the little thing you had to click and be transferred to the gallery, all four renders' thumbnails appeared. This happened on every product that was old enough where someone used it in a render and listed it.

I hadn't seen anyone mention this, so I thought I would and say thank you to whomever was responsible for the work bringing them back. It does make a difference when I make a decision to purchase a product.

It still doesn't work for me, so maybe it's not back for everyone yet? (which could explain why no one mentioned it before)

Great spotting Mary! Thanks for sharing. I do indeed see them today, even on things that were absolutely not showing up yesterday. I appreciate that they worked on bringing it back!

this bald eagle by AM is probably the most realistic one I've seen so far. Bald Eagle by AM | Daz 3D

Hmm, okay, I pay for DAZ Deals Pro and I have also noticed that my previous 'Wishlist' tick box has been removed after a week or two (?) of the DAZ 'Wishlist' tick box that was on the far right of the line showed up. I also look at the DAZ store primarily on Google Chrome, v. 141.0.7390.108 and on my MacMini M4 OS Tahoe 26.0.1. It is where I keep the bulk of my records for DAZ products and other things.

Is anyone with a Windows, other browsers, and non-DAZ Deals Pro seeing the images?

I'm not seeing images on my Mac using Firefox and I don't have any subscription active with Daz Deals.

Maybe the Daz Deals devs decided to save the thumbnails of all gallery images to show them to the people with an active subscription to their service?

I am seeing images, but I am on Windows and Daz-Deals member.

Elor I had to go back 3 or 4 pages in the Commons to find the thread, https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/454726/announcing-daz-deals-browser-add-on-ii#latest and there was a mention in August that someone had 'lost' their links to the gallery images. But I know I have not been able to see them until today since folks first mentioned the gallery was messed up (how long ago?). So this was a surprise. I just checked my options on DAZ Deals Pro and yep, there is this - Show gallery images and forum links for products. I have it checked. But I know it wasn't working previously. So Overdrawn and Ati must have been hard at work on it.

Before the gallery was messed with, were those images ever available if you didn't have DAZ Deals? I mean years ago.

The Deep Line Swimsuit doesn't work very well with some characters (here EG Kern), right out of the box.  Expecially the navel looks odd, sticking out that way.  Had to add a Smoothing Modifier with 6 Iterations, and set the Expand All morph to 4 to fix poke-through.  There's a lot new users need to know to make things like this work, I would probably have returned it if I didn't know how to fix it.

I've never been DAZ Deals Pro (only ever had aceess to the free bits) but I used to be able to see the gallery thumbs and now (on the few pages I've looked at today) they are back for me.

I saw them before Daz made some change on the gallery, I don't see them currently but it's because I'm using Firefox and that version has yet to be updated to the most recent version of the addon: I tested in Opera, installing the Chrome version, and I do see the gallery pictures.

If I'm not mistaked, what Daz Deals dev did is storing locally (on our computer) the thumbnails of the pictures linked to a product.

I hope Firefox will get the new version soon :)

It would be fine enough as a lingerie item, but marketing it as a swimsuit is... bizarre. The G8 version doesn't seem to have been presented as swimwear.

I love Fengs characters. Beatrice is wonderful.

    Happy rendering!

In what universe would this be fine enough as lingerie?

I love Stonemason's Suburbs but I have to point out there are no sewer drains, no manhole covers, and the sidewalk corners aren't sloped for bike or wheelchair access. Also no utility boxes or sidewalks raised up by tree roots.  I'm still buying it today, but I really wish it had those features especially the sewer drains. Where is a clown supposed to hide?

The normal one? It's pretty clearly an item designed for intimate encounters. Not my cup of tea, personally, but it's just another sexy outfit in a store full of them. Maybe a bit more eye-popping (or eye-rolling) than most - but visual stimulation is the point, after all.

Might be a regional difference in word use - maybe "sexy costume" would be a better description than lingerie?

In all honesty I have seen house front doors dressed the same way for Christmas. It is hard to think of it as lingerie, just a misplaced christmas decoration.

I reckon the 'burbs model is a lot of stuff for your money: https://www.daz3d.com/the-suburbs. It's a scene that needs a bit of dressing, but there is lots of it and from the view of someone unfamiliar with US suburbs, looks very real. Possibly the road surface needs a few drain covers and patches (could be done by Iray decals), but there is a lot of work in it..

    Regards,

    Richard.

I've been waiting for something like this for awhile. Agree on the details, but it's a good start.  I was hearted to see the texture folder labled sub1.  Let's hope for more!

Also the out of the box lighting was a bit bizarre.
