Ah, clothes to trigger flashbacks. Hmm, I wonder if Lola knows more than she admits and is trying some aversion therapy?
LOL, barbult. This is a great thread, pictures and story. I love the posse renders on the LoPi figure thread too. I guess that was an alternate timeline. Richard's comments add a lot too. Is it really "The End"?
Only the end of the Posse story, unless I get inspired to visit Jack to observe his attempt to fix the horse. Those thoughts have been spinning around. I'm not sure if I will go there.
Edit: I'm going there.
Jack didn't get his share of "screen time" in the Posse adventure, so now we'll visit him at home to observe, as he fixes Richard's Horse.
Horse Wash
Jack: Uh Oh. I blasted off all the paint with the dirt.
A hose, a hose, my kingdom for a hose!
At least the store has plenty of hobby paint kits/pots to choose from.
The Assembly
After the wood dried, Jack started reassembling Richard's broken horse. Jack's daughter peeked out into the garage.
[I have assigned the name Milly to Jack's daughter.]

Milly (whispering): Mama, look! Papa is building me a rocking horse!
Oh she's going to be sooo disappointed! (Unless Jack can persuade Richard to give his trusty steed away?)
I love the continuing tale, by the way
Something Seems Off
Jack stands back to admire his work. Hmm. But something seems off...
Thanks for the story love, MelanieL. I will try not to disappoint a child.
The resolution is TBD.
Richard is a stray, needs a home not just being fed and getting into strife outside
I addressed the other issue earlier
Millie could have a kitty and a rocking horse
Well done
(this forum is clearly lacking a rolling on the floor laughing smiley :().
Thanks, Elor. Now the puzzle is whether to leave it that way or attempt to get it back apart to fix it. Assuming Jack figures out what needs fixing.
Well, he could try to sit on it and see if it works.
And I thought someone was going to be waking with a horse's head beside them .. ;)
The reins stick out in mid air in the original rocking horse. I added dforce to them an let them fall with gravity. They kind of collapse with dForce. They are actually alongside the head, not under it. Although someone who glues a head on backwards could certainly glue it on top of the reins.
Ha! Maybe in Jack's nightmares after he figures out what he did wrong.
(I had to edit this and every message I typed today. My fingers keep typing out of order, I have Richarditis!)
Test Failure
Jack: Milly, please come out to the garage and help me test the repairs to Richard's horse.
Milly: (sobbing) MY HORSE! Mine, mine mine!
Jack: Mildred Marlene, stop that crying right now! You are not a baby anymore. Be a good girl and help Papa. Hop on the horse and see if it work OK.
Milly: (still tearful) Bad horse! His nose is poking my tummy. The back hurts my bottom. I want off. This is Richard's horse.
Jack: His nose in your tummy? Oh no, that is what's off. I glued his head on backwards!
Milly: An owl can turn his head backwards. A horse can't. I learned that from acb.
Oh dear, Jack is in the doghouse now. I will have to give Milly some extra purrs by way of apology (even if none of it is my fault).
I can see what's wrong. The head is fine but the body is on backwards.
Could do a nice conversion to a fish.... legs off , fins on, tube in the back of it's neck so it can breathe.
So do witches!
Keep On Pulling...Keep On Pulling...
Jack tries in vain to dislodge the glued horse head from the body.

The Problem is the Body not the Head!
Jack: Maybe I've been looking at this all wrong. In the @background of my mind, I've had this glimmer of an idea that the head is fine. It's the body that is backwards! I need to separate the body!
One Sledgehammer, two C-Clamps, and three strong whacks later, the body is still stuck to the head like glue.

It's Working!
Jack grabbed the coping saw from his workbench pegboard. It's working! The body will be separated soon. Thank goodness. The next attempt was going to be the jackhammer. Nothing good could have come from that!
(Note: When I added the coping saw to the pegboard several renders ago, I had no idea that it would have any other use than to hang there. I simply looked in my library for skinny tools that could hang from those tiny pegs. I found that saw. I also found a pair of handcuffs. Nobody has wondered why Jack has handcuffs on his workbench pegboard. I guess it must be obvious to the most casual observer. I figure maybe it is a souvenir from his arrest and incarceration due to the hosta hijinks with Richard.)
It's Fixed!
Jack: I'm exhausted. Fixing Richard's broken horse has been a whole lot harder than I anticipated. How do I get roped into these things? I still have to repaint it, but that can wait until tomorrow after the glue dries. I need a good night's sleep.
